Finland Trade Counselor Highlights Circular Economy Benefits Under EU-India Deal
Antti Herlevi, Finland's trade counsellor, emphasized that the EU‑India FTA presents a unique chance to expand cooperation on circular economy practices. He pointed out that many European nations, including Finland, have long invested in resource‑efficient production, recycling and sustainable design. By aligning these standards with Indian industries, both regions can cut material waste, reduce energy and water consumption, and lower reliance on virgin raw materials. Herlevi urged companies to embed circular principles at the design stage, creating products that are durable, easy to refurbish and recyclable. Such collaboration could lower costs across supply chains while delivering tangible environmental benefits.
