Domestic institutions continue buying, record ₹48,390 crore in month

Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) have been the steady force behind the market this month. They posted net purchases every week, totaling ₹48,390 crore for the period from July 20 to August 21. This week alone, DIIs added ₹17,320 crore, reinforcing market support despite foreign outflows. Since August began, DIIs have invested ₹34,370 crore, keeping the equity market buoyant. The Nifty Mid‑Cap 100 index ended the week almost flat, while the Nifty Small‑Cap 100 index climbed more than 1%, indicating continued appetite for mid‑ and small‑cap stocks.
