RR Defence’s latest offering, the Diamond thermal‑night‑vision platform, is poised to transform how the Indian Army monitors its frontiers after dark. Developed together with ESC BAZD, the system promises clear, colour‑accurate imagery through dense foliage, sand‑filled deserts, and icy highlands.

The solution’s hallmark is its ultra‑low energy consumption, allowing a single battery pack to sustain operations for extended periods—a critical advantage for troops stationed at isolated border posts. Field operators can mount the camera on static stations or mobile vehicles, instantly gaining a crisp view of any movement within a kilometre radius.

According to Chodankar, “Even in adverse weather, the Diamond system delivers consistent performance, ensuring that no target is missed.” He highlighted its integration with existing command‑and‑control networks, enabling real‑time video feeds to command centres for rapid decision‑making.
