Delhi government sets course for 400,000 jobs via startup ecosystem

In a concerted effort to boost job creation, Delhi’s leaders outlined a vision to harness the startup ecosystem for employment generation. At a meeting on September 6, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Education Minister Ashish Sood presented the core objectives of the Startup and Incubation Policy 2026.

The blueprint commits to establishing incubation hubs across educational institutions and delivering the necessary technical and legal support to fledgling companies. Industry participants, including Akash Gupta and Punit Gupta, affirmed that direct government‑industry interaction will refine policy measures and accelerate outcomes.

With a target of 400,000 new jobs, the administration expects the policy to stimulate consumer spending, raise incomes and fuel sustainable economic growth over the next decade.
