Defense, automotive and pharma manufacturing hit record values under Make in India

Defence product value climbed from ₹46,429 crore in FY 2014‑15 to a record ₹1.78 lakh crore in FY 2025‑26, reflecting a dramatic expansion of indigenous capabilities.

Automobile production reached 31.03 million units in FY 2024‑25, up 33 % from the 2014‑15 baseline, with notable growth across passenger, commercial and two‑wheeler categories.

The pharmaceutical industry now stands third worldwide in volume and 11th in value, achieving an annual turnover of ₹4,71,898 crore in FY 2024‑25. Domestic medical‑device manufacturing also rose 48.2 % to ₹41,500 crore.

These figures underscore Make in India's ambition to turn India into a global hub for manufacturing, design and innovation.
