Defence and Electronics Output Reach Record Levels in FY 2025‑26
The latest data reveal that India’s defence production value rose to ₹1.78 lakh crore during FY 2025‑26, marking a 15.6 % increase over the previous fiscal year. This surge reflects focused investment, policy incentives and a drive toward indigenous capability.
In the electronics arena, the sector posted a turnover of ₹13.11 lakh crore, up 15.8 % from the prior year’s ₹11.32 lakh crore. Mobile‑phone exports expanded to a record ₹2.59 lakh crore, underscoring the country’s growing relevance in worldwide electronics supply chains.
Both domains are benefitting from the Production‑Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, which has attracted roughly ₹96,000 crore of investment into large‑scale electronics manufacturing, further accelerating growth trajectories.
