In the same conference, Naidu outlined the government's long‑term vision for the aviation sector. The plan includes promoting Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) with a target of 1% SAF blend in international flights by 2027, rising to 2% in 2028 and 5% by 2030. The ministry is negotiating with state refineries – Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum – to produce SAF according to global standards. Additionally, the government aims to develop multiple airport hubs across the country, employing a hub‑and‑spoke model that will link smaller cities to international routes via domestic gateways.
