In a significant policy move, the Union government has issued detailed implementation guidelines for the BHAVYA scheme, which seeks to develop 100 state-of-the-art industrial parks nationwide. The initiative is designed to strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem and position the country as a preferred destination for global investors. The six-year rollout, backed by an outlay of Rs 33,660 crore, will begin in 2026-27 and continue through 2031-32. The first phase will see 50 parks developed via a competitive selection process that evaluates proposals on merit and readiness. Both new and existing industrial sites are eligible, subject to minimum land norms of 100 acres in plains and 25 acres in hilly or northeastern regions. Each park will feature advanced plug-and-play infrastructure, seamless multimodal connectivity, uninterrupted power and water supply, worker housing and training facilities, and robust digital governance frameworks. Special Purpose Vehicles will manage project execution and ongoing operations. The scheme is expected to complement existing government programs in logistics, skill development, and renewable energy, ensuring coordinated infrastructure growth and sustainable industrial expansion across states.
