Ashwini Vaishnav Announces Expert Panel for Strategic Semiconductor Products

Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav said a high‑level expert committee will be formed to identify strategic semiconductor products eligible for special incentives under Semicon 2.0.

The committee will be co‑chaired by the Principal Scientific Adviser and the National Security Adviser. Its mandate includes evaluating national importance, strategic necessity and long‑term industrial priorities to earmark chips that will receive additional support.

The move is designed to focus public funds on technologies that are critical for national security and future economic growth.
