The Indian med‑tech market, currently valued at $15‑16 billion, is expanding at roughly 12% annually, making it the fourth‑largest in Asia and placing it among the top 20 global markets.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the sector’s momentum is powered not only by manufacturing boosts but also by the integration of cutting‑edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, connected medical devices and remote diagnostic platforms.

Government backing includes regulatory enhancements, upgraded testing facilities and the development of clinical data repositories to ensure patient safety and align Indian devices with international quality standards.

Health Minister JP Nadda highlighted that a stronger medical device industry will stimulate employment, export growth and technological advancement, ultimately delivering more affordable and accessible health services for the population.

Industry forecasts suggest that the $14 billion market could rise to $30‑50 billion by the end of the decade, with a potential valuation of $250 billion by 2047.
