The Khavda BESS capacity is equivalent to the battery storage of more than 150,000 medium‑size electric vehicles and can store roughly twice the daily electricity requirement of the Delhi Metro network. This massive storage capability enables smoother integration of renewable generation into the national grid, reducing curtailment and ensuring that clean power is available when the grid needs it most. AGEL plans to add over 10 GWh of additional BESS capacity in the fiscal year 2026‑27, moving toward a long‑term goal of 50 GWh of storage by 2029.
