Uttar Pradesh is set to leap into the future of artificial intelligence with a groundbreaking $25 billion MoU signed between AM Green Group and Invest UP at Davos’ World Economic Forum. The deal heralds the construction of a 1GW AI data center in Greater Noida, a facility poised to redefine India’s digital landscape.
This strategic partnership, attended by top brass from both sides, underscores UP’s ambition to become the nation’s data center capital. The center will handle intensive AI operations worldwide, equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure for peak performance.
Development will unfold in stages, kicking off with partial capacity in 2028 and reaching full throttle by 2030. A standout feature is its zero-carbon operation, powered entirely by renewable energy sources, making it a model for eco-friendly tech advancement.
The project integrates roughly 500,000 advanced chips to meet escalating needs from leading tech firms, research institutions, industries, and national AI initiatives. It dovetails perfectly with the ‘Developed India 2047’ roadmap, promoting AI-centric development.
AM Green’s leadership, including Chairman Anil Chalamalashetty, views this as a natural evolution of their technology-driven strategy, offering cross-industry solutions. President Mahesh Kolli praised the synergy of round-the-clock green energy and immense compute power, thanks to UP’s unwavering partnership.
Indian developers stand to gain immensely, gaining seamless access to premium chip technology for rapid AI innovation at home and abroad. The ecosystem spans critical sectors like energy infrastructure, healthcare, manufacturing, autos, media, gaming, and public cloud services.
This mega-investment will spur thousands of jobs, attract global talent, and position Uttar Pradesh at the forefront of the AI revolution, driving sustainable economic momentum for decades.
