200 Business Leaders Join Indian Delegation on Strategic Japan Tour
A record‑size Indian business delegation, comprising over 200 senior executives, is accompanying Minister Piyush Goyal on a three‑city tour of Japan. The group represents key sectors such as manufacturing, semiconductors, clean energy, steel, automotive, finance, healthcare and start‑ups.
The delegation’s presence is intended to showcase India’s expanding manufacturing and investment‑driven growth model, while providing Japanese firms direct access to potential partners and market opportunities.
Key meetings include a briefing with Sumitomo Corporation’s President Shingo Ueno, where the focus was on deepening ties in industrial infrastructure and mobility, and a session with Meiji Seika Pharma’s President Toshiyuki Nagasato to discuss joint pharmaceutical ventures.
The visit comes at a time when both governments are keen to cement a “special strategic and global partnership”, with trade and investment flows expected to accelerate as a result of these high‑level engagements.
