The ‘Vumaneya’ campaign has revolutionized access to government contracts for women-led businesses. During fiscal year 2026, 2.1 lakh such Micro and Small Enterprises joined GeM, bagging 13.7 lakh orders valued at over Rs 28,000 crore—a 27.6% jump from last year.

Exceeding the 3% target, these enterprises accounted for 5.6% of all GeM orders, highlighting the success of targeted interventions. Women entrepreneurs and SHGs now sell directly to public buyers via categories including artisanal crafts, textiles, natural fibers, and decor items.

Local administrations organize training sessions, product listing workshops, and capacity-building programs to prepare sellers. This digital platform converts informal skills into formal, scalable operations, promoting sustainability.

All transactions, from tendering to invoicing, are fully online, reducing dependency on intermediaries and ensuring transparency. The standardized templates simplify procurement for buyers while empowering women with economic autonomy.

Vumaneya isn’t just about orders; it’s a catalyst for visibility, skill enhancement, and inclusive public spending that mirrors India’s diverse talent pool, paving the way for lasting empowerment.
