  • Kim Kardashian and Ye settle divorce, averting custody trial

    By Associated Press

LOS ANGELES: Kim Kardashian and Ye have reached a settlement in their divorce, averting a trial that had been set for next month, court documents filed Tuesday showed.

The former couple and their attorneys filed documents asking for a judge’s approval of terms they have agreed on, including USD 200,000 per month child support payments from Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, to Kardashian.

The two will have joint custody, and neither will pay the other spousal support, according to the documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The judge declared the two legally single at Kardashian’s request in March, ending their eight-year marriage, but issues of property and custody remained that were to be worked out in a trial starting Dec. 14.

The two have four children whose ages range from 3 to 9 years old.

Kardashian and Ye will equally split the expenses for the kids’ private security and private school, including college, according to the settlement proposal.

They will also each pay their own debts the settlement said. The two had a pre-nuptial agreement and kept their property largely separate.

The couple began dating in 2012 and had their first child in 2013. West proposed later that year using the giant screen at the empty waterfront ballpark of the San Francisco Giants, and the two married May 24, 2014, in a ceremony at a Renaissance fortress in Florence, Italy.

The two appeared to be headed for a cordial split with agreed-upon terms when Kardashian first filed for divorce in February of 2021. Neither discussed the split publicly until early this year, when Ye started lashing out on social media against Kardashian, her family, and then-boyfriend Pete Davidson. Among his complaints were that he was not being allowed to make major parenting decisions and was been excluded from birthday parties and other events for their children.

Ye, who has fired two lawyers since the divorce filing, also raised several technical issues and demands, including seeking the right to question any new husband of Kardashian’s under oath, which Judge Steve Cochran promptly rejected.

The settlement comes soon after several companies have cut ties with Ye ove r offensive and antisemitic remarks that have further eroded an already withering public image.

His latest lawyer, Nicholas Salick, did not immediately reply to a request for comment on the settlement.

It was the third marriage for Kardashian, the reality TV superstar, businesswoman and influencer, and the first marriage for the rap and fashion mogul Ye. Theirs was one of the most closely followed celebrity unions in recent decades.

  • Kanye West wanted to give up his career to become Kim’s stylist

    By IANS

LOS ANGELES: Rapper Kanye West, who has officially changed his name to Ye, reportedly wanted to give up his career to become reality TV personality Kim Kardashian’s stylist.

The ‘Gold Digga’ rapper was willing to throw the towel in and “dedicate his life” to dressing ‘The Kardashians’ star, who he was declared legally single in March, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

In the premiere episode of their new Hulu reality series, Kim told her friend while picking out looks for her ‘Saturday Night Live’ hosting gig: “Kanye wants to quit everything and dedicate his life to being my stylist.”

Kim has recently moved on with ‘SNL’ comic Pete Davidson.

Earlier this week, the businesswoman gushed about “randomly” embarking on a romance with the 28-year-old actor in October, after she filed for divorce from Kanye – who legally changed his name to Ye – in February last year.

Kim said: “I definitely took my time. I took, you know, 10 months or something before I dated or talked to anyone, and I just wanted that time to really figure out and go through the motions: ‘Am I making the right decision? How do I feel about this?’ So once I went through all of the motions, I finally was, like, ‘OK, guys, I am so ready to meet someone.’ And I randomly did.”

The reality star said she wants to be a “little bit more” guarded about her new relationship.

She explained: “I do think that I am holding, you know, a little bit more close to my heart on certain aspects of my relationship with Pete, and it feels good just to know that, like, we have this connection and we have our little bubble of a relationship world that we live in that, like, not a lot of people know about.”

Kim is having “so much fun” with her beau.

She added: “We were driving in the car yesterday and I just, like, looked at him and I was like, ‘Thank you.’ And he was like, ‘What?’ And I was like, ‘For running errands with me, like, this is so much fun just to, like, go to a doctor’s appointment or go to the dentist and just, like, run errands. I’m having so much fun.’”

Ye has since dated other women he has enjoyed dressing, such as ‘Uncut Gems’ star Julia Fox and now Kim lookalike Chaney Jones.

The ‘Stronger’ hitmaker has been out of the spotlight since he was suspended from Instagram for 24 hours for his targetted harassment of Pete and comedian Trevor Noah on the social media app.

  • Kanye West buys house across street from former wife Kim Kardashian

    By IANS

LOS ANGELES: Rapper Kanye West has bought a house across the street from Kim Kardashian.

Although the former couple, who have four children together, are currently going through a divorce, they have remained amicable and Kanye has splurged $4.5 million on the property in Hidden Hills California, in order to remain close to his family, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Kanye, who has officially changed his name to Ye, paid $421,000 more than the original asking price so that he could purchase the home directly across from where Kim lives with their children North, eight, Saint, six, Chicago, three and Psalm, two.

Kim, 41, and Kanye previously agreed to seek joint legal custody of the kids in their divorce, with a source explaining: “(Kim) wants Kanye to be a big part of the kids’ lives. He will be invited to all holidays and family celebrations.”

Earlier this month, Kim filed legal documents asking to be declared legally single as she and Kanye have finished dividing up their assets.

She stated: “Irreconcilable differences have existed and continue to exist between (West) and me, which have caused our marriage to irretrievably break down. No counseling or reconciliation effort will be of any value at this time.

“There will be no prejudice to (West) if our marriage is immediately dissolved, especially given the fact that throughout our marriage, we adhered to the terms of our premarital agreement and maintained the separate property character of our assets.”

  • Rapper Kanye West officially changes his name to ‘Ye’

    By ANI

WASHINGTON: New beginnings started for American rapper Kanye West as he officially changed his name to Ye. A Los Angeles judge on Monday approved a petition by the ‘Runaway’ hitmaker Kanye West to officially change his name to be known simply as ‘Ye’, with no middle or last name, reports Deadline.

Kanye filed the petition on August 24 and stated he was making the change for personal reasons. In fact, in 2018, he released an eighth studio album titled ‘Ye’.

After getting legal approval to change his name, Kanye took to Instagram and posted a photograph of his new haircut. The picture shows Kanye with his back toward the camera while wearing a silver chain that bears the name of his son Saint. The caption is the sign for Japan’s yen currency and China’s yuan.

Kanye has called himself Ye on social media for years.

  • Kanye West’s new album ‘Donda’ confirmed to release in August

    By ANI
WASHINGTON: After several unconfirmed reports regarding the August 6 release of American rapper and record producer Kanye West’s 10th studio album ‘Donda’, on Monday, a representative from West confirmed the news.

The album was initially announced by the artist in 2019 but later shelved it, only to suddenly revive it last week, then bummed it again. West held a listening session for the album in Las Vegas on July 17, and then announced another, a larger one at Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Arena for Thursday, which was to be followed by the album’s release that night.

The listening session took place and was live-streamed by Apple Music, however, the album failed to materialize, with unofficial sources claiming that West was doing further work on the album, according to Variety.

While many of West’s releases since ‘Pablo’ have seemed rushed or unfocused, based on what was aired in Atlanta, ‘Donda’, named after his beloved mother, who died suddenly after surgery in 2007, seems to be the most musically adventurous and fulfilling album West has released in many years.

It features guest appearances from Jay-Z, with fiery verses on a song apparently called ‘Jail’, sparking rumours of a reunion album by the at-times estranged friends Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Pusha T, Playboi Carti, Baby Keem, Don Toliver, Roddy Ricch and others.

It retains the Christian themes and lyrics of his recent gospel material but contains only a few elements of religious music (church organ and choirs on a couple of songs).

However, fans should not expect hard beats, as the album is slow and contemplative, recalling at times his ‘808s and Heartbreak’ album, the one he released after his mother’s death.
