In a significant step toward global sustainable transport, India and the European Union have ramped up their cooperation through the India-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC). Experts from both sides stressed the urgency of intensifying joint research, innovation, standards development, and testing for interconnected mobility solutions.

The focus on green energy technologies is driving progress in sustainable mobility, innovative ecosystems, and future-oriented industrial partnerships. This was vividly demonstrated at the second India-EU workshop on EV charging technologies, conducted March 15-17 at Italy’s Joint Research Centre in Ispra.

Co-hosted by the Office of India’s Principal Scientific Adviser (OPSA) and the EU’s DG RTD, the event featured key players like JRC, ARAI, and the EU Delegation in India. Diverse stakeholders—including regulators, engineers, standardization experts, researchers, and business leaders—engaged in dialogues to shape a unified EV charging infrastructure.

The agenda included technical deep dives into policy evolutions, industry strategies, high-power megawatt chargers, vehicle-to-grid tech, bidirectional systems, and wireless charging innovations. Hands-on lab tours at JRC showcased cutting-edge EV and smart grid testing setups.

OPSA’s scientific advisor highlighted how such bilateral efforts are essential for trustworthy, compatible charging networks that support clean mobility shifts. EU representatives, such as DG RTD’s Nienke Buisman and JRC’s Dr. Christian Thiel, reinforced the call for stronger collaboration across R&D, standards, and validation to accelerate connected mobility transitions.

As both regions align on these fronts, the workshop lays groundwork for interoperable systems that could redefine electric mobility worldwide, blending India’s market scale with Europe’s technological prowess.

iQOO, a prominent smartphone brand, is preparing to launch its new flagship smartphone, the iQOO 15, in India. The company has officially confirmed some key features of the device. Notably, the phone will support wireless charging, a feature absent in the previous generation, the iQOO 13. The new model is expected to boast a larger battery and significant performance upgrades. Furthermore, the iQOO 15 is anticipated to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, the world’s fastest processor to date, making it a standout device in the Indian market. This processor has not yet been incorporated in any phone launched in India.

Regarding battery and charging technology, the company announced via a Weibo post that the iQOO 15 will include wireless charging support. It will also integrate a new seven-cell “Blue Ocean” battery design, coupled with Global Direct Drive Power Supply 2.0 technology. This combination is designed to extend the duration of gaming sessions, video playback, and navigation, thereby improving battery life. While the iQOO 13 offered a 6,000mAh battery and 120W fast charging, it lacked wireless charging functionality.

According to leaked reports, the iQOO 15 will feature a 6.85-inch Samsung display, with a 2K resolution (3168×1440 pixels) and a 144Hz refresh rate. Leaks also suggest that the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and iQOO’s Q3 chip, engineered to enhance performance and gaming experiences.

In terms of the camera setup, the iQOO 15 is expected to include a 50MP primary sensor, sized at 1/1.5-inch. It may also feature a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. This setup is designed to improve low-light photography and zoom quality.

Based on information from tipster Chaitanya (@ChaitanyaOnTech), the iQOO 15 is estimated to be priced between 60,000 and 65,000 rupees in India. This pricing would be approximately 5,000 rupees higher than the launch price of the iQOO 13 (12GB RAM + 256GB storage), which was priced at 54,999 rupees. The iQOO 13 was launched in Legend and Nardo Grey color options, with information about new color variants for the iQOO 15 expected soon.

Google has officially confirmed that its new Pixel 10 series will launch at the Made by Google event in New York on August 20th. This highly anticipated smartphone lineup is…

Google has officially confirmed that its new Pixel 10 series will launch at the Made by Google event in New York on August 20th. This highly anticipated smartphone lineup is expected to bring several major changes.

Rumors and leaks suggest the new series will include the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 XL, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Although the design might not see significant alterations, it is likely to resemble the previous models.

The most notable upgrade is anticipated in the camera capabilities. The base model Pixel 10 is slated to feature a triple camera setup, incorporating a telephoto lens that was previously exclusive to the Pro models. However, reports indicate that the primary sensor will be slightly smaller than that of the Pixel 9, potentially impacting performance in low-light conditions. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL are expected to retain the same camera system as previous Pro models.

Google is also introducing several new AI tools, including Speak-to-Tweak (voice-activated photo editing), Sketch-to-Image (generating photos from drawings), and a new Pixel Sense virtual assistant. Additionally, a Camera Coach feature will be incorporated, providing suggestions on angles and lighting while taking photos.

The Pixel 10 series will utilize the new Tensor G5 chipset, manufactured by TSMC on a 3nm process instead of Samsung. This is expected to enhance both performance and heat management.

According to reports, the phones might be slightly larger and heavier due to a larger battery and new Qi2 magnetic wireless charging support, a feature not previously available in the Pixel series.

The upcoming Pixel 10 Pro Fold is set to be the world’s first dust-resistant (IP68) foldable phone, preventing dust from entering the device.

Color variants will also see some changes. The Pixel 10 will be available in Indigo, Frost, and Limoncello, while the Pro models will offer Porcelain, Jade, and Moonstone shades. Overall, the Pixel 10 series focuses on camera improvements, AI features, battery life, and wireless charging. The August 20th launch is highly anticipated by tech enthusiasts.

OnePlus is planning to launch the second generation of its foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open 2, in 2025. The original OnePlus Open was released in October 2023, so the delay might disappoint some potential buyers. Reports from tipsters like Sanju Choudhary suggest that the OnePlus Open 2 could be released in the latter half of 2025, a shift from the earlier expected launch in Q1 2025. While the exact launch date and pricing details are still unknown, expectations are building around the specifications. The phone is anticipated to feature a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC processor, an upgrade from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It could also include a 2K+ resolution foldable screen, a 50MP triple camera setup with a circular periscope telephoto lens, and 3-stage wireless charging support. Design-wise, the phone may sport a narrower frame and a thinner, lighter build with premium materials like plain leather and glass. However, these specifications are based on rumors and may not be finalized in the final product.
