In a major relief for international travelers, Air India has decided to keep running extra flights to Europe and North America until March 28, 2026, due to ongoing issues in West Asia creating massive demand. The announcement came Tuesday, highlighting the airline’s proactive approach to capacity crunch.

Specifically, from March 19 to 28, 36 additional flights will ply on Delhi-London (Heathrow), Mumbai-London (Heathrow), Delhi-Frankfurt, Delhi-Zurich, and Delhi-Toronto, adding a whopping 10,012 seats to meet the rush.

Breaking it down: Delhi-London AI165 takes off at noon on select dates, touching down evening time, with returns overnight. Mumbai’s one-off service on the 21st caters to late-night flyers.

Frankfurt gets daily boosts from the 19th through 27th, providing consistent options. Zurich’s exclusive March 24 flight offers a quick hop, while Toronto’s schedule aligns outbound and inbound for seamless travel.

This initiative builds on the airline’s earlier rollout of 78 extra flights across nine routes in mid-March. As global routes face constraints, Air India’s expansion ensures passengers have reliable choices, potentially reshaping travel patterns in the coming weeks. Experts predict sustained demand, urging early reservations.

Dubai International Airport has issued a critical alert: all incoming landings are suspended indefinitely due to ongoing regional instability. This March 16 announcement has sent ripples through global travel plans, prompting urgent advisories for passengers worldwide.

Airport spokespersons stressed real-time status checks before departure, with continuous monitoring ensuring timely updates. ‘Landings for DXB arrivals are paused amid prevailing circumstances,’ the statement noted, urging patience from the traveling public.

In response, Air India Group is ramping up operations on March 17, 2026, with 44 flights connecting West Asia. Scheduled services to Muscat and Jeddah persist, including Delhi-Jeddah roundtrips, Mumbai departures, and Kozhikode routes by Air India Express.

Extra efforts include 24 charter flights to UAE and Saudi hubs, coordinated with authorities. Uninterrupted connectivity to Europe, North America, and beyond offers relief for long-haul passengers.

Flexible policies allow free rebooking or refunds for impacted itineraries. Submit requests online, ensure mobile numbers are updated for alerts, and reach support lines for assistance. Air India Express passengers can leverage digital tools for seamless changes.

This coordinated response highlights airlines’ commitment amid uncertainty. As DXB remains closed to arrivals, travelers must stay vigilant, with industry-wide measures prioritizing safety over schedules in a fluid geopolitical landscape.
