  • Weight festival will be celebrated in Anganwadi centers of the district from July 07: Instructions for writing slogans and promoting it through banner-posters

    Weight festival is organized to ensure community participation in assessing the nutritional level of children below the age of five years in the state. District Program Officer Mahila Bal Vikas Kishan Tandon Kranti informed that following the guidelines of Kovid-19, weight festival will be celebrated in all Anganwadi centers of the district from July 07 to 16. Project officers have been directed to District Office Women and Child Development Department to provide name wise list of all severely and moderately malnourished children up to 5 years in each project. Apart from preparing 05 to 06 clusters in each supervisory sector, the officers of other departments in each cluster have been asked to nominate as nodal officers and to provide information about the cluster and the date of organizing the weigh festival in them by June 30.
    The District Program Officer has directed the Project Officers and Sector Supervisors to ensure that at least 20 slogans related to weight festival should be written in different places of all the villages and publicity should be done in village-village through banners, posters. Do it. Instructions have also been given to ensure availability of salter, electronic weighing machine and growth chart of children’s weight in Anganwadi centers. While directing the project officers, the District Program Officer said that all the children of zero to five years of age would be weighed, in which the number of children weighed should be matched with the number reported in the previous month. If a child misses weight, then on the lines of Pulse Polio, door-to-door weighing of the children should be taken during the said period. In a meeting with District CEO, Block Medical Officer, Block Education Officers, instructions have been given to the project officers to prepare a program about weight festival and hemoglobin test of adolescent girls of 11 to 18 years and their weight. Sector supervisors have been asked to contact and discuss with the Sarpanch of Gram Panchayats, Panchs and Ward Councilors of the urban body and inform them, as well as include health department supervisors, ANMs and Mitanins and through Kotwars in the village or wards. Instructions have also been given to ensure that the festival is celebrated.
