‘I Am Very Scared Of…’: Virat Kohli Reveals His Biggest Fear Ahead Of MI Vs RCB Clash In IPL 2024 | cricket news
Ahead of the clash against five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opener Virat Kohli opened up about his biggest fear in a viral video. Virat is currently participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, representing the Bangalore-based franchise. With the T20 World Cup starting from June 1 onwards, this tournament is his chance to prove that his slightly more conservative approach to T20 cricket, which mixes aggressive hitting with anchoring skills, is still a great model to follow these days when batters are going big. from ball one.

The former RCB skipper asserted that whenever there is bad turbulence, he is the first one to hold the sides of the seat.
“I am very scared of turbulence. Oh my god, I look so stupid and like a fool. Whenever there is a bad turbulence, I am the first guy to hold the sides of the seat. So I feel like, I am the gone ,” Kohli said in the RCB Podcast Trailer.
Kohli has been in remarkable form ongoing 17th edition of the IPL. The right-hand batsman has already has a century to his name and has struck 316 runs in 5 matches at an average of 105.33.
Virat’s team RCB is off to a poor start in the IPL this year, having won only one out of their five matches so far. Their next challenge will be the contest against five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.

RCB Brutally TROLLED As Memes Pour In After Loss To LSG In IPL 2024; Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell Produce Flop Show | cricket news
It was another poor outing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2024 on Tuesday night as they lost their second successive match in the league. Lucknow Super Giants effected a 28-run win with the hosts struggling in all departments of the game. This is also RCB’s third loss in four games. RCB had the upper edge from the start as they won the toss at M Chinnaswamy stadium. This is a ground where chasing is easy and defending is very difficult and as expected, captain Faf du Plessis decided to bowl first. Quinton de Kock struck a brilliant 82 while Nicholas Pooran smashed a quickfire 42 to take LSG to 181 for 5 in 20 overs.

Bowlers still did a good job to stop LSG from scoring near 200. But the batters disappointed a lot. Virat Kohli, du Plessis and Rajat Patidar, who form the top order, got starts but could not convert them into big innings.
Mahipal Lomror also batted well for his 33 but it was never going to be enough as others gave up their guns. As a result, RCB lost another game at home, which is a huge setback for the Bengaluru side.
RCB were trolled massively by the fans as they made jokes and memes after the loss to LSG. Take a look below.

Not to forget, despite no trophies, RCB remain a huge brand in IPL. They have one of the biggest fanbases in the league. But somehow, this team continues to show inconsistency in their performances throughout the tournament.
Mayank Yadav stood out for LSG again as he broke his own record for fastest delivery in the league, bowling a 156.7 kph delivery. He has now won 2 Man of the Match Awards in his two-match IPL career.
RCB are on ninth in the IPL 2024 points table now after the defeat. Their NRR is -0.876. The fact that they have lost 2 matches at home means they need to win a few away matches now in order to qualify for the playoffs. A poor start to the campaign makes it harder to qualify for the playoffs. If RCB are to qualify, they must look to produce all-round show in the coming games. In their first defeat at home, they were unable to defend 182 runs. In their second loss at Chinnaswamy, they failed to chase down 182. That pretty much sums up their issues.

IPL 2024: Memes Pour In After Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir Share A Laugh; Pic Goes Viral | cricket news
Star batter Virat Kohli’s skillful unbeaten fifty formed the foundation of Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s competitive 182 for six against Kolkata Knight Riders in their IPL match on Friday. Kohli (83, 59b, 4×4, 4×6) and Cameron Green (33 off 21b) milked 65 runs off 42 balls for the second wicket, the primary alliance in RCB innings, as the home side produced a two-faced effort after being asked to. bat first on a track that was on the slower side. Another interesting thing which happened was Kohli and Gautam Gambhir hugging it out during the time-out which set the internet buzzing.

Coming back to the match, an archetypal Dinesh Karthik cameo (20, 8b, 3×6) added gravitas to the RCB total as usual towards the end. Skipper Faf du Plessis went back early as the Royal Challengers captain’s attempt to scoop pacer Harshit Rana ended in the hands of Mitchell Starc inside the circle.
But a period of stability followed as Kohli and Green kept RCB on the track with a busy stand that saw them reaching 61 for 1 in the Power Play segment. Kohli dished out drives and lofts over covers, a new addition to his batting, sweeps and slog-sweep to fetch his runs, but the shot of the night was a swat-flick off Starc that sailed for a six.
In fact, no other shot really encapsulates Kohli’s batting like the swat-flick – a child of his desire to find newer ways to sustain the dominance of bowlers. A simple snap of wrists and power emanating from a strong bottom hand can turn this traditionally gentle shot into a malevolent run-making option. Kohli brought his fifty in 36 balls whereas other batsmen, except Green, generally struggled for momentum and timing.
But at the other end, Green wasn’t really bothered about such technical angles, as his batting was all about brute power. Sunil Narine, who was playing his 500th T20 match, was given a hammering as Green took 15 runs off the spinner’s first over that included a sequence of 4, 4, 6 – a sweep, slap past cover and a hoick over long-on.
However, the burgeoning alliance was snapped when Green’s effort to play a pull off Andre Russell was the ball crashing on to his stumps as the ball kept a tad low. Glenn Maxwell, who was dropped twice on 11 and 21, en route to a 19-ball 28 could not exploit the largesse of KKR fielders as his luck finally ran out against Narine. A slash off the West Indian spinner ended in the hands of Rinku Singh at deep point, and Maxwell had to depart after adding 42 runs for the third wicket with Kohli.
Rajat Patidar (3, 4b) seemed to be suffering from lack of confidence after his travails in the Test series against England, and the right-hander produced another vastly underwhelming knock. But at one end, Kohli kept going even as the KKR bowlers adopted the pace-off strategy with excellent effect to slow down the proceedings.
Kolkata Knight Riders crushed Royal Challengers Bengaluru by seven wickets in their Indian Premier League match. KKR started off on a rousing note as the opening duo of Philip Salt (30 off 20 balls) and Sunil Narine (47 off 22 balls) added 86 runs in just 6.3 overs.
Later, Venkatesh Iyer (50 off 30 balls) and skipper Shreyas Iyer (39 off 24 balls) helped KKR complete the task with 19 balls remaining for the side’s second win in three games. (With PTI inputs)

Coming to the match between RCB and KKR, there are many big names ready to shine in the clash tonight. One of them is Andre Russell who performed brilliantly in the season’s opener of KKR.
Andre Russell gave an early storm warning to opponents, plundering a 25-ball 64 for Kolkata KnightRiders against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their opening IPL game and the veteran batsman attributed the bright beginning to a changed mindset. In contrast, Russell was a pale shadow of his intimidating self in IPL 2023, managing just 227 runs from 14 matches and snaffling just seven wickets.
“My mindset wasn’t right (in 2023). I was thinking about failure more than thinking about going out and doing what I do best. When you have a mindset that I don’t want to get out, I think that’s a negative. mindset for me,” Russell said on the eve of the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
“I think I’ve been allowing myself to be under pressure, because I’ve been thinking too much. It’s all about the mindset, as I said, and now more clear in my approach to every delivery,” added Russell.
But the Jamaican all-rounder said he has been working on his batting technique as well over the last year to make a bigger impact.
“I’ve made a few changes. I was at the nets in Abu Dhabi and Sunil (Narine) was watching my technique. We realized I was doing too much, as I was stepping out and I needed to work on my stride towards the delivery. When I look at most batters who are big hitters, they don’t really have a big stretch against the deliveries that are going away. So, that’s just one little tweak that I’ve done,” said Russell.
Detailing the changes further, the 35-year-old said: “Now, I’m just trying to move as late as possible, and you know, I wouldn’t speed so much and I try to depend on that, and just use eye-hand coordination,” he added.

It was a heartwarming moment in the middle in Bengaluru when Virat Kohli spoke to his family members from the M Chinnaswamy ground. Virat pressed the dial button to speak to wife after RCB clinched a cliffhanger against Punjab in which Virat also struck a brilliant 77 off 49 balls. Virat also got the Player of the match award for setting up the chase which eventually Dinesh Karthik finished in style. He spoke of his time off the field. Virat was with wife in London for more than two months as they waited for the birth of their second child whom they named Akaay. While the rest of the family is still in London, away from the attention and limelight they get in India, Virat came back to India to play the IPL.
The 35-year-old said that he enjoyed his time in London where not many recognized him on the streets as he could casually walk into a restaurant with his daughter to have some food or coffee. “We were not in the country (talking about his break). We were in a place where people were not recognizing us. Just time together as a family, just to feel normal for two months – for me, my family – it was a surreal experience. Of course having two kids, things become totally different from a family perspective. Just the ability to be together, the connections you make with your older child. Couldn’t have been more grateful to God for the opportunity to spend time with the family,” said Virat.
Virat is the current holder of the Orange Cap. He will aim to keep it throughout the tournament which will mean that he is contributing with the bat and fulfilling his responsibilities. “People talk about a lot of other things when you play sport – achievement, stats, numbers. But when you look back it’s the memories you create. Rahul bhai in the change room says the same nowadays. When you play, play your heart out. because you’re going to miss these times,” said Virat.

WATCH: Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni Share Heartwarming Moment During CSK vs RCB Clash, Video Goes Viral | cricket news
The focal point of the IPL 2024 opener on Friday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, featuring defending champions Chennai Super Kings against Royal Challengers Bangalore, centered around Ruturaj Gaikwad's appointment as the new captain of CSK, succeeding MS Dhoni, and the anticipation surrounding the team's performance under his leadership. However, within just thirty minutes into the season opener, social media was abuzz with a viral moment featuring Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, stealing the spotlight.

Virat Kohli on Friday became the first Indian to score 12,000 T20 runs. Kohli achieved the feat during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 opening clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday.
With this achievement, Kohli also became the sixth player after T20 stalwarts Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard, Alex Hales, and David Warner to reach the milestone.
Kohli reached the milestone in the seventh over of the game, swiping a full ball from Ravindra Jadeja behind square on the leg side for a single. (WATCH: Ajinkya Rahane, Rachin Ravindra Complete Unbelievable Catch To Get Virat Kohli Out During CSK vs RCB Clash)
The 12,000 runs include those he scored for RCB in the IPL and the now-defunct Champions League, for Delhi in domestic Twenty Over Cricket, and for India in T20 Internationals. Rohit Sharma is the next Indian on the list, having scored 11156 runs in 426 matches, followed by Shikhar Dhawan, who has 9645 runs in 329 matches.

CSK Vs RCB Playing 11 IPL 2024: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis To Open? Rachin Ravindra Replaces Devon Conway? Check Here | cricket news
RCB's star batsman Virat Kohli will be back as they take on CSK in a blockbuster IPL 2024 opening clash at MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai on Friday. It will be a fantastic sight when CSK captain MS Dhoni and Kohli meet each other on the sidelines of the match. Dhoni is among the greatest captains to have ever played the game and Kohli, one of the modern-day batting greats. They are the best of friends off the field even if they want to beat each other in IPL, on the field.
It would not be easy for RCB to beat CSK in their homeground. If you look closely at their squads, CSK have built their team according to their home conditions, with a spin-heavy bowling attack. RCB don't have the same quality in their spin attack.
If RCB can somehow manage a win in the opening contest and Kohli has a good game, it will do their confidence a lot of good going further into the tournament.
Kohli to open with Faf?
This seems to be the ideal scenario for RCB who have many good T20 specialists in the middle order in the form of Suyash Prabhudesai, Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik. Not to forget, RCB traded in Cameron Green from Mumbai Indians and they must look to play their Rs 17.5 crore player from game one.
As far as CSK are concerned, they will need to replace Devon Conway at the top and one able replacement option is available in the form of another Kiwi Rachin Ravindra. There is no Matheesha Pathirana which means Dhoni must play Mustafizur Rahman as the death-overs specialist in this IPL.
RCB Vs CSK Probable Playing 11s:
RCB: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis (Overseas), Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell (overseas), Suyash Prabhudesai, Dinesh Karthik, Cameron Green (Overseas), Mahipal Lomror, Reece Tooley (Overseas), Mohammed Siraj, Karn Sharma
CSK: Rachin Ravindra (Overseas), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Daryl Mitchell (Overseas), MS Dhoni, Mitchell Santner (Overseas), Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Mustafizur Rahman (Overseas).
