  • Dilip Doshi says ‘national duty’ should come before anything else

Virat Kohli’s decision to leave the Australia tour after the first Test to be present for the birth of his first child had been praised by Australia’s Steve Smith, but not everybody has approved of the move. Former India cricketer Dilip Doshi said Kohli is “deserting a sinking ship” and that he himself would not have gone because “national duty” should come before anything else.

“To me, captaining India would be the prime-most thing on my mind. It’s a sinking ship. This is the time when they need their captain the most. If you leave at this time, you are leaving the side to your deputy with a lot of questions unanswered. I only hope and pray that the team shows enough character to come out of this,” Doshi said on a Facebook Live session on Sportskeeda

  • Virat Kohli lost for emotion after hammer blow

Virat Kohli was not so much lost for words as he was for emotions, when he addressed the press after a shambolic defeat that included India’s slump to its lowest total in Test history. The words streamed out of his tongue like they always do, in a flurry. The gaze was firm and fixed, as it usually is.

The eyes were disturbingly serene. They betrayed no anguish or angst, neither fear nor shock. A sort of expressionless expression, as if tranced in a supernatural incident. As if the mind is frozen.

It was as unusual as Kohli ever had been in his career. He wears his emotions on the sleeve and the eyes

  • India record lowest Test score of 36, Australia need to 90 to win

India was bundled out for 36 in the second innings, setting a target of 90 runs for Australia to go 1-0 up in the series. This score of 36 is India’s lowest-ever score in Test cricket. Before this, India’s lowest score was 42 in Test cricket against England in 1974.

Resuming day three at 9/1, India lost the wickets of Jasprit Bumrah (2) and Cheteshwar Pujara (0) in quick succession as Pat Cummins sent both the batsmen back to the pavilion. In the very next over of Pujara’s dismissal, Josh Hazlewood prized the wickets of Mayank Agarwal (9) and Ajinkya Rahane (0), and India was left reeling at 15/5 with just a lead of 68 runs over the hosts.

Things turned worse for the visitors as Pat Cummins had Virat Kohli (4) caught at the hands of Cameron Green at gully. Wriddhiman Saha and Ravichandran Ashwin also failed to leave a mark and India was left reeling at 26/8.

Virat said, “It is our priority to keep fit as many of our main players. After playing for so many years, the level of your game definitely reaches a level, but at this time the most important is your fitness where we have played so many matches at such a short interval. • Virat Kohli Get Trolled After Six-wicket Loss to SRH in IPL 2020 Eliminator : #ThankYouKohli Trends as RCB,

Yet another year of IPL, and yet again a disappointment for Royal Challengers Bangalore fans as Virat Kohli’s RCB crash out of IPL 2020 without a sniff at the IPL title. What’s more hurting this season for RCB will be the fact that they started well with seven wins of their first ten games, but lost their last five that saw them from being strong contenders to finish in top two, to just scraping through to playoffs, finishing fourth and eventually losing the Eliminator in a facile manner. This was their fifth straight loss and with the famed batting line-up managing a score beyond 150 only once in those matches.

While Kohli and RCB fans thanked the team and the skipper for their effort, but critics and social media warriors who never miss out on any opportunity to throw dirt at anybody, were at it and started to trend #ThankyouKohli, mocking the Indian skipper and his team. For the record, Kohli opened the innings in the Eliminator but was caught behind down the leg for 6 and while most critics and trollers targetted Kohli’s lack of runs in key games, the fact of the matter is, Kohli, despite having an average run with the bat this season ends IPL 2020 as the second-highest run-getter of RCB only behind Devdutt Padkikkal with 466 runs in 15 matches at 42.36 and a strike-rate of 121.35.

  • Kohli hit a double century of matches for RCB

As soon as the 31st match of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL started on the ground of Sharjah, the Royal Challengers Bangalore i.e. RCB captain Virat Kohli made a record in his name. The match was against Kings XI Punjab, in which Virat Kohli scored a double century for RCB in terms of matches. On this occasion, Virat Kohli also gave a statement and said that it is not less than any honor for him.

In fact, Virat Kohli had landed in his 185th match against Punjab for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the history of IPL. With this, he became the first player to play in the 200th match for RCB. Now you must be thinking that when he played 185 matches in IPL for RCB, then how did 200 matches happen? If you are thinking like this then you are not wrong, but he played the 200th match for RCB on Thursday, 15 October.

Yes, Virat Kohli has played 15 matches for RCB in Champions League T20. In this way, he has become the first player to land 200 matches for the Bangalore team. So far no player has played so many matches for RCB. At the same time, during the toss on this special occasion, he was asked how you are feeling after achieving this special achievement, then he said that it means a lot to me.

RCB captain Virat Kohli said, RCB means a lot to me, not many people can understand this emotion of mine. 200 matches is a wonderful thing for the team. I never thought in 2008 that this would happen. It is an honor for me. They retained me and I remained with them. Let me tell you, Virat Kohli is the only player who is still playing for the same team in the IPL.

  • Delhi Capitals’ bench-strength good enough for another IPL team, says Ashwin

After registering an emphatic 59-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) here on Monday, Delhi Capitals’ (DC) off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin hailed the bench strength of the side, saying that it is good enough to form another Indian Premier League (IPL) team.

Before the match against RCB, Delhi received a big blow as spinner Amit Mishra was ruled out of the tournament due to a finger injury. In place of Mishra, Axar Patel was given a chance against the Virat Kohli-led side, and he responded impressively with figures of 2-18 from his four overs.
“That’s one of the beauty of this particular Delhi side. Even when my shoulder dislocated, Amit came in and played the role. Now he is injured, so Axar has come in and played the role. There is enough strength on our bench and sometimes when it comes to the IPL, the people coming out of that bench become very important. That bench is probably good enough to be another IPL team, it has got a lot of quality,” Ashwin said during the post-match press conference.
