VinFast has collaborated with Castrol India, a leading lubricant manufacturer, to strengthen its after-sales network in India. This partnership aims to provide reliable and accessible after-sales support to its electric vehicle (EV) customers across the country. The initiative reinforces VinFast’s vision of establishing a dependable service ecosystem for EV owners in India. Under this agreement, Castrol India will make its network of over 750 outlets across more than 300 cities available to VinFast customers, utilizing selected Castrol Auto Service (CAS) workshops. These service centers will feature VinFast-branded bays, certified EV technicians, and genuine VinFast parts. VinFast will provide service manuals, diagnostic tools, training, and warranty coverage processes, while Castrol will ensure that the workshops meet necessary infrastructure and capacity standards. This collaboration will allow VinFast customers to benefit from Castrol’s expertise, advanced service protocols, and a digitally connected workshop ecosystem. These capabilities are expected to ensure consistent quality, transparency, and convenience at every service point. VinFast recently launched its first overseas assembly plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, with an initial capacity of 50,000 vehicles annually, expandable to 150,000 units. The plant is expected to generate thousands of direct jobs. Furthermore, VinFast aims to open 35 dealerships across 27 cities by the end of 2025, partnering with several major dealer groups. With the launch of its premium SUVs VF 6 and VF 7 in India, VinFast is also building a robust service network to ensure customers receive the same trust, convenience, and care that characterize its vehicles. VinFast and Castrol aim to elevate service standards through advanced diagnostics, genuine parts, and digital-first support solutions.

The Indian electric vehicle (EV) market is steadily gaining momentum. In response to growing demand, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are planning to introduce several new models in the coming years. While many EVs currently available in India are expensive, companies like MG and Tata have offered more affordable options such as the Comet EV, Windsor EV, Tiago EV, and Punch EV. However, the compact SUV segment still has limited choices. This will change in 2026, as at least four new affordable compact electric SUVs are slated to hit Indian roads. These include the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, Kia Syros EV, Vinfast VF3, and Hyundai Inster EV.

September 2025 promises to be an exciting month for car enthusiasts and prospective buyers. With the festive season approaching, approximately five new cars are expected to launch, making this a particularly special time. The launch schedule will commence with an event from Maruti, followed by the introduction of VinFast vehicles to the market. Let’s explore the cars likely to debut in September 2025.

Maruti is gearing up to introduce a new made-in-India SUV, positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara. It will be sold through Arena showrooms. Reports suggest potential names such as Escudo, Victorious, or Saber. The vehicle could be based on Suzuki’s Global C platform but will undergo modifications for a longer wheelbase and increased cabin space.

Vietnamese EV company VinFast will enter the Indian market with the VF6. Mass production of this SUV recently commenced at the VinFast plant in Tamil Nadu. The VF6 will be available in two variants with six color options and two interior themes, depending on the variant.

Alongside the VF6, VinFast will also launch another electric SUV, the VF7. Both models were showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier in 2025. The company will offer the VF7 in three variants, six exterior color options, and two interior themes.

Launched in 2020, the Mahindra Thar 3-door model has seen only minor updates, but it is now due for a refresh. Mahindra is preparing to introduce it with a new look and features in September 2025. The Thar will incorporate design and feature changes akin to the Thar Rox, such as circular LED headlights and new alloy wheels. It is expected to include a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch full-digital driver display, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and TPMS.

September 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting month for car enthusiasts and potential buyers. With the festive season approaching, around five new cars are expected to launch, making this a particularly special time. The launches will kick off with an event from Maruti, followed by the entry of VinFast vehicles into the market. Here’s a look at the cars likely to be released in September 2025.

Maruti Escudo
Maruti is preparing to introduce a new made-in-India SUV that could be positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara. It will be sold through Arena showrooms. According to reports, the name could be Escudo, Victorious, or Saber. It might be based on Suzuki’s Global C platform but will have modifications for a longer wheelbase and more cabin space.

VinFast VF6
Vietnamese EV company VinFast will begin its Indian market journey with the VF6. Large-scale production recently started at the VinFast plant in Tamil Nadu. This SUV will come in two variants and will offer six color options and two interior themes, depending on the variant.

VinFast VF7
Alongside the VF6, VinFast will also launch another electric SUV, the VF7. Both models were first showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo held in early 2025. The company will offer this SUV in three variants, six exterior color options, and two interior themes.

Mahindra Thar Facelift
Since its launch in 2020, the Mahindra Thar 3-door model has seen only minor changes, but it’s starting to appear dated. Mahindra is preparing to present it with a fresh look and features in September 2025. The Thar will have design and feature changes similar to the Thar Rocks, such as circular LED headlights and new alloy wheels. It’s expected to include a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch full-digital driver display, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and TPMS.

Vinfast, a Vietnamese company, is set to launch its first two electric cars in India on September 6th. The models, VF6 and VF7, are both electric SUVs. These cars are expected to compete with Tata Motors and Mahindra, along with other electric vehicles, in the Indian market. The company has already begun accepting bookings for both cars. Interested buyers can reserve a car for a token amount of 21,000. Notably, the company is manufacturing these cars in India at a plant located in Tamil Nadu.
