On the occasion of Vijayadashami, Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, made a significant statement. He addressed his younger brother, Tejashwi Yadav, emphasizing the need for understanding roles, referencing the characters of Ram and Lakshman. He asserted that Tejashwi, being the younger brother, should observe proper decorum and respect his elder brother. Tej Pratap made these remarks during an interaction with journalists in Patna.

During the interaction, Tej Pratap candidly discussed various issues. He suggested that Tejashwi’s actions are based on his own judgment, but he should also consider potential influences, possibly from those he referred to as ‘Jaichands.’ He stressed the importance of distinguishing between the roles of Ram and Lakshman and respecting the elder brother.

This followed a question about Tejashwi’s accusations that Tej Pratap had fielded candidates against the party in the past, particularly during the Lok Sabha elections, favoring those he was close to. Tej Pratap responded to this accusation.

He also criticized the RSS, stating that it had no contribution to India’s independence. He reminded the public of the events involving Mahatma Gandhi, expressing his adherence to Gandhian principles and respect for leaders like Lal Bahadur Shastri and Mahatma Gandhi. When asked about contesting elections, he mentioned that he would reveal his plans after Dussehra. Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s foreign trips, Tej Pratap speculated that he might be traveling for his well-being.

Furthermore, Tej Pratap Yadav addressed the ‘I Love Mohammad’ controversy, emphasizing the importance of respecting all religions. He stated that he respects all faiths and possesses a copy of the Quran. He mentioned his belief in Ram and Mohammad, advocating for inclusivity. He expressed his respect for Prophet Muhammad and questioned the current societal direction and governance. He highlighted the arrest of those expressing ‘I Love Mohammad’ and commented on the prevailing mindset. He concluded by saying that he will continue to move forward and connect with the public, regardless of criticism.

Preparations for Ravana’s effigy burning were underway at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, Bihar. However, heavy rain disrupted the event. The rain, accompanied by dark clouds, soaked the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnad, which were adorned with fireworks. The rain caused the effigies to become so waterlogged that Ravana’s head broke off before it could be burned.

The downpour dampened the spirits of the crowd. Those who came to witness the Dusshera celebrations at Gandhi Maidan were affected by the rain. People were seen running for shelter during the rain. Every year, Ravana Dahan is organized at Gandhi Maidan on the occasion of Vijayadashami, but this time the rain dampened the enthusiasm of the people.

On the occasion of Vijayadashami, the day of the Ravana Dahan, political tensions escalated in Bihar. The JDU (Janata Dal (United)) shared an AI-generated video on its social media platforms. The video portrays a figure resembling Lalu Prasad Yadav, the head of the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal), as Ravana. This AI-generated video depicts Lalu Prasad Yadav with ten heads, followed by his effigy being burned. The AI video shows Lalu Yadav smiling, with a lantern pendant around his neck. The ten heads represent various societal issues: theft, caste violence, corruption, loot, extortion, kidnapping, and crime. The video then depicts a young man representing the people of Bihar, shooting an arrow to kill the Ravana-like figure of Lalu Prasad Yadav. The accompanying text emphasizes the triumph of good over evil. The post also states that the people of Bihar will eliminate evil on this Vijayadashami, reiterating that evil always loses, and Bihar will triumph, representing the victory of the people of Bihar. Meanwhile, the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) also joined the fray, presenting Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition, as Ravana through an image. BJP leader Kundan Krishan commented that Lalu Prasad Yadav’s actions mirrored those of a demon, with no security for people during his regime, where people were forced to live in fear. He stated that Lalu Yadav’s rule was marked by incidents of loot, kidnapping, and rape, and it was the people of Bihar who ended his rule and established a ‘Ramraj’ in Bihar. The BJP claims that Ramraj will continue in the future, with the guarantee coming from the people of Bihar.

Heavy rainfall across Delhi-NCR on Thursday significantly impacted the Vijayadashami celebrations. The downpour disrupted Ramlila performances, causing pandals to collapse and effigies of Ravana to become soaked. Consequently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned Ravan Dahan ceremony in Delhi had to be cancelled.

The rain dampened the festive spirit, disappointing the thousands who had gathered at Ramlila grounds to witness the burning of Ravana. Prime Minister Modi was scheduled to attend the Vijayadashami celebrations at IP Extension, but the event was called off due to the adverse weather.
