  • Kanye West has eyes set for 2024 elections, wants Trump as ‘running mate’

    By ANI

WASHINGTON: Rapper-producer Kanye, is back in the presidential race. In a surprise announcement, Rapper Kanye West stated that he will run for US president in the 2024 elections.

As per a report by Billboard Magazine, the ‘Dark Fantasy’ rapper confirmed his upcoming campaign over the weekend.

In a video posted to Twitter by @RedPillGangTV, the ‘Heartless’ singer was asked by paparazzi whether he will run for Presidency again.

    “Yes… It’s simple… It’s just we’re moving toward the future,” he replied.

The video also featured far-right political figure Milo Yiannopoulos. “This is Milo right here, working on the campaign,” the rapper said, pointing to him.

Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene formerly had Milo as an intern, as per a report by Billboard Magazine.

The rapper also took to Twitter to announce that he proposed former US President, Donald Trump, to be his ‘running mate’.

“Can’t believe I kept President Trump waiting,” he wrote. “What you guys think his response was when I asked him to be my running mate in 2024?” he asked his fans in the same tweet.

Kanye had earlier attempted to run for US Presidency in 2020, for which he launched a campaign under the ‘Birthday Party’ banner.

Unfortunately for the ‘Gold Digger’ rapper, the campaign didn’t result in a win.

As per a report by Billboard Magazine, Kanye had registered his party late.

He made a single major appearance throughout his campaign, accompanied by just two video advertisements at the last moment.

Ultimately, he only got on the ballot in 12 states out of 50, with a mere turnout of 70,000 votes.

This year has been quite a rocky time for Kanye, who made headlines for his anti-Semitic remarks.

Meanwhile, Trump recently announced that he would seek the Republican Party nomination to contest in the 2024 elections after losing to current President Joe Biden in 2020.

  • Welcome US President Joe Biden joining LeadIT climate initiative: PMO

    By PTI
NEW DELHI: The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Saturday welcomed the US’ decision to join the Indian-Swedish climate initiative, Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT), and said it will help meet the Paris Agreement goals.

In his address to a virtual summit on climate change, US President Joe Biden said he is looking forward to working with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a new partnership to achieve climate and energy goals, making this a core pillar of bilateral cooperation.

“We will be joining and a partner — for the nations and efforts to decarbonise critical sectors across the board, including the industrial sector, where we’ll join with Sweden and India, and in the Leadership Group for Industry Transition,” he said.

In a tweet, the White House said the United States is joining Sweden and India in LeadIT, an effort to promote low carbon pathways on the road to net-zero emissions for industries.

“Working together we can build momentum for industry transition to address the climate crisis,” the White House said.

Following the development, the PMO India tweeted, “Welcome @POTUS joining the Leadership Group for Industry Transition, LeadIT! This Indian-Swedish climate initiative takes the lead in heavy industry transition.”

“It will help us meet Paris Agreement goals, strengthen competitiveness & create new sustainable jobs,” it said.

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, on his official Twitter handle, said, “Welcome @POTUS joining the Leadership Group for Industry Transition, LeadIT!” This Sweden-India climate initiative takes the lead in heavy industry transition, he said.

“It will help us meet Paris Agreement goals, strengthen competitiveness & create new sustainable jobs,” the Swedish prime minister said.

Earlier this week, India and the United States also announced a ‘US-India Climate and Clean Energy Agenda 2030 Partnership’ to create stronger bilateral cooperation on actions in the current decade to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.

  • PM Narendra Modi speaks to US President Joe Biden; leaders look forward to further peace, security in Indo-Pacific region

    By PTI
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to US President Joe Biden on Monday and discussed a host of issues, with the PM asserting that both of them are committed to a rules-based order and look forward to consolidating the bilateral strategic partnership as well as further peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

This was their first conversation after Biden assumed office last month.

In a tweet, Modi said that he conveyed his best wishes to the US president, and the two leaders discussed regional issues as well as shared priorities.

“We also agreed to further our cooperation against climate change,” he said.

“President Biden & I are committed to a rules-based order. We look forward to consolidating our strategic partnership to further peace & security in Indo-Pacific region and beyond,” Modi said in another tweet.

Prime Minister Modi had also spoken to Biden after his electoral triumph over Donald Trump in the US polls.

At that time, the two leaders had discussed the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, while reiterating their firm commitment to the strategic bilateral partnership.

Last month, Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States and Kamala Harris took oath as first woman vice president in a historic but scaled down ceremony.

Tweeting soon after Biden’s inauguration, Modi had extended best wishes for a successful term and said the two countries stand united and resilient in addressing common challenges and advancing global peace and security.

Noting that the India-US partnership is based on shared values, Modi had said the two countries have a substantial and multi-faceted bilateral agenda, growing economic engagement and vibrant people to people linkages.

Biden is known to be a strong proponent of closer India-US ties since his days as a senator in the 1970s and played a key role in getting the approval of the Senate for the bilateral civil nuclear deal in 2008.

The strategic and defence ties between India and the US witnessed major expansion during Barack Obama’s presidency and Biden, as the vice president, had played a key role in it.

  • Alec Baldwin delivers spoof farewell address as US President Donald Trump

    By ANI
WASHINGTON: Alec Baldwin reprised his Emmy-winning ‘Saturday Night Live’ role as President Donald Trump to deliver a mock farewell address just a week before the real-life commander in chief bids farewell to the White House.

According to Fox News, the actor and comedian teamed up with writer Kurt Andersen to present ‘Hasta la Vista, America: Trump’s Farewell Address.’

A three-minute-long teaser of the nearly 45-minute audiobook was released on Tuesday (local time) on SoundCloud. The teaser sees Baldwin putting on the voice of Trump and stating that the upcoming speech is “the most important speech” by the President.

“That’s right. For a while you’re still free to say ‘Happy New Year’ like you were free on New Year’s Eve to gather together and have fantastic parties and hug and sing and kiss without masks,” Fox News quoted Baldwin as saying as he turns Trump.

During the address, Baldwin referenced a New Year’s Eve bash thrown by Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort which reportedly did not require face masks or social distancing amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Baldwin is then heard correcting himself after speaking to someone in the background.

“Ok got it. Or with masks. Your choice, especially if you’re not immune like me and the first family,” the Trump parody said.

The monologue continued with Baldwin declaring that since he is leaving the throne of the President “America will be much less great again” come the Easter holiday.

“Soon in March or April or whenever, try going into a restaurant or a store if they’re not all shut down already and say, ‘Happy Easter!’ They’ll scream at you, kick you out, even if you’re wearing a mask,” Fox News quoted the parody Trump as saying.

“Although I actually could tell lies if I wanted but I don’t and that’s actually why they hate me — the phonies, the radicals, the liberals, the elitists, the fake media, the Antifas — because I tell too much truth,” he added.

Baldwin then went on to mock the real-life Trump’s claim that the 2020 elections were rigged.

“Washington invented what I’m doing now. What many historians called his ‘farewell address’… could have run again, won very easily, another term, then again and again and again, no rule against it. Also back then elections weren’t rigged,” the Emmy-winning actor said.

“We Love Trump” chants then started echoing in the background, following which the audio featured Trump calling out the “squad” which constituted of Democrats Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, Cory Booker and Rashida Tlaib, and Kamala Harris, reported Fox News.

“Farewell for now as far as the White House goes because never say never. I mean, you know, after the total takeover by the communists look at that squad over in Congress. I call it a death squad, like in the bad places they come from,” Baldwin said.

Earlier in October, the 62-year-old actor had essayed President Trump for a ‘Saturday Night Live’ sketch, where he had revealed to the public that he and first lady Melania Trump had tested positive for COVID-19. Baldwin’s fellow celebrity Jim Carrey took on the role of Joe Biden.
