  • Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal admitted to AIIMS due to post-Covid complications

    NEW DELHI: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal “Nishank” was admitted to the AIIMS here on Tuesday morning due to post-Covid complications.

    According to sources, the minister is admitted under Dr Neeraj Nischal, an associate professor in the Department of Medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

    “He (Pokhriyal) was admitted due to post-Covid complications on Tuesday morning. He is admitted under Dr Neeraj Nishchal,” a source said.

    The education Minister had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 21.

    NEW DELHI: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on Monday announced that the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) only one time in 2021.

    In a written reply to Lok Sabha, the Union Minister said that NTA under the Ministry of Education conducts NEET for the undergraduate programme in medical sciences, in consultation with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

    However, the NTA has informed that they have not received any memorandum in this regard, as per the response given to the question asked by the BJP MP Lallu Singh.

    The examination will be conducted in 11 languages, including Hindi and English through Pen and Paper mode on August, 1 this year (Sunday). 

  • Education minister to announce JEE Advanced 2021 exam dates on January 7

    NEW DELHI: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ will announce the eligibility criteria for admission into Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the date of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2021 on January 7.

    “My dear students, I will announce the eligibility criteria for admission in IITs and the date of JEE Advanced on 7th Jan at 6 PM. Stay tuned!” the minister wrote on Twitter.

    The Joint Entrance Exam (Main) will be conducted in four sessions in February, March, April and May starting from February 23 to 26, 2021.

    The next sessions of the exam will take place between March 15-18, April 27-30 and May 24-38.

    Earlier, Union Education Minister announced that the CBSE class 10th and 12th board exams 2021 will be conducted from May 4 to June 10 and the results will be declared by July 15.
