New Delhi’s power corridors saw a historic close at South Block as the Cabinet approved ₹1,60,504 crore in road and rail projects during its final session there. The announcement came Saturday from Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, highlighting the Modi government’s commitment to world-class infrastructure.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated ‘Seva Tirth’ on Friday, relocating key offices like PMO and Cabinet Secretariat to this modern hub, streamlining operations for future policy executions.

Diving into urban innovation, the ₹1 lakh crore Urban Challenge Fund was launched, offering 25% central support for projects where markets fund at least half. This could transform metropolitan landscapes with smarter cities and sustainable development.

Rail networks expand with ₹18,509 crore for three projects across 12 districts in four states, adding 389 km of multi-tracked lines to handle surging demand.

Entrepreneurs rejoice with the ₹10,000 crore Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0, chaired by PM Modi, aimed at infusing domestic capital into high-potential ventures nationwide.

On roads, Maharashtra’s NH-160A Ghoti-Trimbak to Palghar upgrade spans 154.635 km at ₹3,320 crore. Telangana’s NH-167 widening to four lanes costs ₹3,175 crore, promising logistics savings. Gujarat gets ₹4,583 crore for NH-56 four-laning.

As India accelerates towards self-reliance, these projects promise job creation, reduced travel times, and economic multipliers, cementing infrastructure as the growth engine.

New Delhi’s power corridors echoed with historic approvals as the Central Cabinet held its farewell session at South Block, sanctioning ₹1,60,504 crore worth of road and railway projects. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared the details Saturday, highlighting a new chapter for governance.

Post this meeting, Cabinet operations move to Seva Tirth Complex, inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on Friday. This state-of-the-art facility consolidates PMO, NSCS, and Cabinet Secretariat, symbolizing efficient administration.

The agenda was ambitious: railway multi-tracking, national highways, metro expansions, urban upgrades, and startup investments. Standing out is the Urban Challenge Fund (UCF) at ₹1 lakh crore, where central aid matches 25% if cities raise 50% from markets, revolutionizing urban infrastructure financing.

Three rail projects covering 389 km in 12 districts of Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Karnataka secured ₹18,509 crore approval, set to transform regional mobility and cut congestion.

For startups, Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 launches with ₹10,000 crore to infuse domestic capital, nurturing India’s entrepreneurial spirit under PM Modi’s vision.

Maharashtra’s NH-160A stretch from Goti-Trimbak to Palghar, spanning 154.635 km, gets rebuilt and upgraded for ₹3,320.38 crore, enhancing safety and speed.

Telangana benefits from NH-167’s four-laning on the Hyderabad-Panaji corridor (Gudebeloor-Mahbubnagar) at ₹3,175.08 crore, streamlining logistics and spurring development.

In Gujarat, NH-56’s dual sections expand to four lanes with ₹4,583.64 crore investment, bolstering trade links. These approvals reflect a strategic thrust towards self-reliant infrastructure, fueling India’s growth story with seamless connectivity and innovation.
