Ahmedabad’s Adani Group achieves a global milestone by becoming the official partner for UNESCO’s World Engineering Day 2026, hosted by WFEO. This is a groundbreaking moment, as it’s the inaugural instance of an Indian entity being chosen to celebrate engineers’ role in fostering sustainable progress worldwide.

As India’s powerhouse in infrastructure, transport, and utilities, Adani’s selection reflects its leadership in accelerating clean energy shifts. The group excels at providing vast, dependable, and cost-effective electricity, directly supporting India’s energy independence and contributing to SDG 7 on affordable and clean energy.

‘Clean energy doesn’t have to compromise on scale or price—nor on inclusivity,’ stated Sagar Adani, Adani Green Energy’s Executive Director. He pointed to the Khavda facility as India’s climate beacon, powered by the synergy of Adani Green Energy, Adani Energy Solutions, and Adani New Industries in building an integrated renewable future.

WED 2026’s focus on ‘Smart Engineering for a Sustainable Future through Innovation and Digitalization’ mirrors Adani’s pioneering work across renewables, digital systems, and utility networks. This partnership vividly illustrates engineering’s power to drive sustainability in practical settings.

The ambitious Khavda project in Gujarat, covering 538 sq km, aims for 30 GW capacity by 2029. Recognized by WFEO as a cornerstone of India’s green revolution, a dedicated film will premiere at WED events, capturing its monumental size and transformative potential.

With over 7 GW already live and the full capacity slated for 2029, Khavda will eclipse all existing power plants globally. This feat not only cements Adani’s engineering prowess but also positions India as a frontrunner in the worldwide race toward net-zero emissions.

The Adani Group has etched its name in global engineering history by becoming the official partner for World Engineering Day (WED) 2026, a UNESCO-declared international observance coordinated by the WFEO. This is a groundbreaking first for any Indian organization, recognizing engineers’ pivotal role in sustainable progress.

As India’s infrastructure giant spanning transport, utilities, and energy, Adani’s selection celebrates its vanguard role in clean energy shifts. The group excels at providing vast, dependable, cost-effective electricity, fortifying national energy independence and contributing to global SDG 7 targets.

“Clean energy doesn’t have to compromise on scale or price—nor on inclusivity,” declared Sagar Adani, AGEL Executive Director. He hailed the Khavda project in Gujarat as India’s climate pledge embodied, powered by the integrated strengths of Adani Green, Energy Solutions, and New Industries forging an integrated renewables future.

WED 2026’s focus on ‘Smart Engineering for a Sustainable Future through Innovation and Digitalization’ mirrors Adani’s trailblazing work in renewables, digital systems, and expansive utilities. It proves engineering’s power to deliver sustainability at scale.

The WFEO spotlighted Khavda in its 2026 events, with a dedicated film showcasing its ambition. Covering 538 sq km—comparable to Mumbai and vastly larger than Paris—this behemoth aims for 30 GW by 2029, set to claim the title of the planet’s biggest power facility.

With over 7 GW already live and the rest on track, AGEL’s Khavda initiative exemplifies audacious engineering. This partnership elevates Adani’s global stature, inspiring engineers worldwide to innovate for a greener tomorrow.

In an era demanding rapid decarbonization, Adani’s UNESCO tie-up heralds engineering as the engine of sustainable revolution, with India at the vanguard.

Lucknow, the celebrated culinary heartland of North India, has officially earned a coveted spot on UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network (CCN) in the ‘Gastronomy’ category. This prestigious recognition celebrates the city’s iconic Awadhi cuisine, from its legendary Galouti kebabs and aromatic biryanis to its delicate Makkhan Malai. The inclusion solidifies Lucknow’s status as a world-class gastronomic destination.

UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay announced the addition of 58 new cities to the network, now encompassing 408 cities across more than 100 countries. These cities are acknowledged for harnessing creativity to drive sustainable development, preserve cultural identity, and foster innovation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the achievement, highlighting Lucknow as a vibrant emblem of India’s rich cultural and culinary heritage. He expressed his delight on social media, encouraging global travelers to experience the city’s unique gastronomic charm firsthand and explore its distinctive offerings.

Union Culture Minister described the honor as a tribute to Lucknow’s profound culinary legacy and its significant contribution to India’s diverse food traditions. State officials also celebrated the recognition, viewing it as a reflection of India’s growing global stature.

Lucknow’s cuisine, steeped in centuries of Awadhi tradition, is a testament to artistry and hospitality influenced by Mughal and Nawabi legacies. Iconic establishments continue to preserve and present these time-honored flavors, embodying the city’s deep-rooted pride in its culinary excellence. The network of culinary artists, chefs, and food experts across India have widely acclaimed this recognition as a long-overdue acknowledgment of Lucknow’s significant influence on Indian gastronomy. This international accolade is expected to significantly boost tourism, opening a new chapter for Uttar Pradesh’s hospitality sector and further cementing Lucknow’s reputation as a destination of taste and tradition.

Political parties in Bihar are strategizing for the upcoming assembly elections. Bhojpuri film star Pawan Singh recently met with Upendra Kushwaha, the head of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha, in Delhi.…

Political parties in Bihar are strategizing for the upcoming assembly elections. Bhojpuri film star Pawan Singh recently met with Upendra Kushwaha, the head of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha, in Delhi. Following this, he also met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. These meetings have created a stir in Bihar’s political landscape, prompting reactions from various leaders. Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and the president of the Jan Shakti Janata Dal, also responded to these events.

Speaking to the media in Patna, Tej Pratap Yadav remarked that individuals like Pawan Singh are known for ‘falling at the feet’ of others, suggesting this is their usual behavior. He pointed out that Pawan Singh had previously been seen in a similar manner, referencing an earlier instance. Tej Pratap stated that Pawan Singh should focus on his artistic career instead of getting involved in politics, suggesting he is not suited for it.

Tej Pratap emphasized that Pawan Singh is constantly seen seeking favor from different individuals. He believes Singh’s judgment is clouded, and he should stick to his art. Regarding the initiative to include Chhath Puja in UNESCO, Tej Pratap Yadav praised it, calling it a positive step for Bihar’s sacred festival. He mentioned that his mother used to observe the puja but is unable to do so now due to health reasons. He sees the promotion of this festival as a good thing.

Furthermore, Tej Pratap discussed his party’s election symbol, highlighting the positive influence of the blackboard. He noted that the blackboard guides everyone, and people go there to gain education. Targeting Prashant Kishor, he mentioned the ‘yellow flag bearers’ who are roaming around with school bags, implying they too will seek knowledge from the blackboard. Tej Pratap stated that his party, the Jan Shakti Janata Dal, is supported by the people of Bihar and that they fight for issues at the ground level. He contrasted himself with leaders who are ‘helicopter riders,’ emphasizing his focus on the ground realities.

Tej Pratap also referenced an incident involving a hoarding and the alleged presence of alcohol in school bags. He shared a specific event in which a person with a physical disability was reportedly harmed by a vehicle associated with Jan Suraaj, Prashant Kishor’s organization. He stated that he would visit the affected area and had discussed the matter with the local authorities, demanding action.
