  • PM Modi expresses gratitude to the public for BJP’s victory in the by-elections in the states

    Pleased with the BJP’s spectacular performance in the by-elections in various states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday praised the party leadership of these states and thanked the people. Modi said that due to the ‘development agenda’ of the state government led by Shivraj Singh Chauhan and the hard work of the party workers, BJP has emerged as the first choice of people in Madhya Pradesh. He said that the public’s affection for the party is “priceless”.

    In the by-elections in 28 assembly seats of Madhya Pradesh, BJP has won 16 seats and is leading in three other seats. The Prime Minister said in a tweet about the party’s victory in the two seats of the Karnataka by-election, that the BJP’s victory in Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Sira seats has special significance and the people have stamped the reform policies of the state government and the central government.

    At the same time, expressing happiness over the victory in all the BJP seats in the by-elections in eight assembly seats in Gujarat, Modi said that there is an “unbreakable” relationship between the people of the state and the BJP. He tweeted that in Uttar Pradesh too, the people led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the people of the state have given their full support to the BJP due to the people-friendly policies of the Central Government. BJP has won six out of seven constituencies in Uttar Pradesh.

  • India’s COVID-19 active cases dips below 6 per cent of the total cases: Health Ministry

    India’s COVID-19 active cases have fallen below 6 per cent of the total cases, said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday.

    In a tweet, the Health Ministry said, “Demonstrating a landmark achievement, India’s Active Cases have fallen below 6% of the Total Cases. The Recovered Cases have leaped past 92% of the cumulative cases.”

    In another tweet, it said, “Calibrated and effective strategy of the Centre focused on high levels of testing for early identification combined with timely tracing, isolation and hospitalisation for the severe cases have resulted in a manageable number of active cases and continuously rising number of recoveries.”

    On Monday, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan held a virtual meeting with Health Ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, and West Bengal to review the COVID-19 situation.

    With 45,903 new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, India’s total cases surged to 85,53,657, the MoHFW said on Monday.

    With 490 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the death toll has mounted to 1,26,611.

    The total number of active cases stands at 5,09,673 in the last 24 hours while the total cured cases are at 79,17,373.

  • Violin maestro TN Krishnan passes away, PM Modi expresses condolences

     Violin maestro and Padma awardee TN Krishnan passed away in Chennai here at the age of 92 on Monday evening. Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled his death.

    In a tweet, Prime Minister Modi conveyed condolences to Krishnan’s family and noted that his demise has left a “big void in the world of music”.

    “The demise of noted violinist TN Krishnan leaves a big void in the world of music. His works beautifully encapsulated a wide range of emotions and strands of our culture. He was also an outstanding mentor to young musicians. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti,” PM Modi tweeted.

    Krishnan was born on October 6, 1926, in Kerala and later settled in Chennai. He also received many legendary awards like Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Sangeetha Kalanidhi. He performed at thousands of musical concerts.

  • Voting for 54 seats in 10 states, PM Modi urged for large turnout

    With the commencement of voting for Phase 2 of Bihar Assembly elections and 54 other seats in 10 states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged a large number of voters to cast their votes. The PM tweeted that “Today, by-elections are taking place in various places in India. I urge those who vote in these seats to vote in large numbers and strengthen the festival of democracy ”.

    Bihar assembly elections are the first major elections in India after the outbreak of Corona virus epidemic. PM Modi urged voters to follow social distance and wear face masks while casting votes.

    The PM said in another tweet – Votes will be cast for the second phase in Bihar assembly elections today. My appeal to all voters is that they make this celebration of democracy successful by voting in large numbers. During this, along with following social distancing, wear a mask.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid a humble tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary and said that he was a pioneer of national unity. PM Modi tweeted and said a humble tribute to Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the pioneer of national unity and integrity, on his birth anniversary.

    PM Modi inspected the National Integration Day Parade in Kevadia and took the salute of the parade. This parade includes soldiers from all the security agencies of the country. Prior to the parade, PM Modi administered the oath of national unity and security to the security forces personnel.

    PM Modi has arrived to participate in the unity day celebrations on the occasion of the 145th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. Today, the 145th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is being celebrated in the country. On this occasion, the PM, who arrived to participate in the Unity Day celebrations in Kevadia, paid floral tributes at the Statue of Unity.
