The Trump administration, facing resistance from local Democratic leaders, declared Chicago a warzone and authorized the deployment of federal troops on Sunday. This action follows growing criticism that the President is leveraging law enforcement and military power for political advantage in Democrat-led cities. The decision is set against a backdrop of escalating political tensions concerning law enforcement practices and immigration policies. Trump has frequently cited the need for stronger measures in cities he deems lawless, recently vowing to confront what he views as an ‘internal war.’ Legal challenges have emerged, with a federal court in Portland, Oregon, temporarily halting troop deployments, deeming the administration’s rationale as legally unfounded. In Chicago, events escalated over the weekend, including a shooting by a federal officer of a motorist and the fatal shooting of a 38-year-old immigrant, Silverio Villegas Gonzales, during a traffic stop on September 12. The administration has also increased the role of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), with raids, often conducted in unmarked vehicles, sparking protests. A recent CBS News poll indicates that a majority of Americans oppose the use of National Guard troops in cities, yet the White House appears resolute.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt issued a warning that thousands of federal employees could lose their jobs if the government shutdown persists. She indicated this situation could escalate political…

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt issued a warning that thousands of federal employees could lose their jobs if the government shutdown persists. She indicated this situation could escalate political tensions in Washington. Leavitt further alleged that Democrats are exploiting the crisis for political gain.

Leavitt stated that the nation is now in the third day of a shutdown orchestrated by Democrats. She asserted that Democrats are holding the American people hostage by demanding free healthcare for illegal immigrants.

She pointed out that Republicans fully support passing a non-partisan, clean funding bill, which is the same bill that Democrats approved to reopen the federal government in March. However, the same Senate Democrats are now voting against this bill. Leavitt expressed an understanding that Democrats will likely change their stance soon and expressed hope that they will do so.

Leavitt highlighted the severe personal impacts of the ongoing government shutdown on millions of Americans. She noted that the 1.3 million men and women of the US military, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Space Force, who serve with honor and risk their lives to protect everyone, are not receiving their paychecks. Military families are already requesting food assistance due to the financial strain caused by the Democratic shutdown.

President Trump would end the reign of terror of the radical leftists in Portland. If Democrats do the right thing, this shutdown could end. But if it continues, layoffs will be an unfortunate consequence. Democrats brought the White House and the President to this situation by voting to shut down the government.

The President is deeply concerned about all the atrocities that have occurred in the Middle East in recent years. It is deeply unfortunate that he inherited this disarray from the Biden administration. During President Trump’s first term, the Middle East was on the path to peace and prosperity. Historic Abraham Accords were signed.

Israel was on the path to normalization with Arab and Gulf countries, and we hope this continues. However, the President has made it clear to Hamas that they must accept an acceptable and detailed proposal, or the consequences will be severe. He gave them a deadline of 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Leavitt believes that the entire world should hear the words of the President of the United States loudly and clearly. Hamas has the opportunity to accept this plan and move forward peacefully and prosperously in the region. If they fail to do so, the consequences will be very unfortunate.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump are scheduled to address a gathering at the White House soon. Prior to the address, the two held a meeting…

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump are scheduled to address a gathering at the White House soon. Prior to the address, the two held a meeting in the Oval Office to discuss a ceasefire in Gaza. During the meeting, Netanyahu apologized to Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani via phone. This apology was made in light of Israeli airstrikes on Hamas leaders in Qatar on September 9th.

Trump has presented a 21-point peace plan, with two key aspects: the release of all hostages held by Hamas within 48 hours and a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. Since the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict on October 7, 2023, over 66,000 Palestinians have been killed. Approximately 48 individuals remain as hostages in Hamas’s captivity, with Israel believing around 20 of them are still alive.

Key Points of Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan:

* Release of all hostages within 48 hours of a ceasefire.
* Implementation of a permanent ceasefire.
* Gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
* Release of 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and 2,000 other detainees.
* A new government in Gaza without Hamas, including the Palestinian Authority, Arab, and international representatives.
* Establishment of a technocratic (non-political) Palestinian government in Gaza.
* A new security force comprising Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim country soldiers.
* Financial aid from Arab and Muslim countries for the reconstruction and administration of Gaza.
* Limited participation of the Palestinian Authority in the new government.
* Disarmament of Hamas and the destruction of heavy weapons and tunnels.
* Amnesty for Hamas members who abandon violence, allowing them to remain in Gaza.
* Allowing Hamas members who do not abandon violence to leave safely.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced plans to meet with former US President Donald Trump during the upcoming 80th UN General Assembly. Zelenskyy intends to urge the United States to impose more stringent sanctions on Russia, aligning with efforts already undertaken by European nations. This announcement comes amidst heightened concerns across Europe due to the ongoing conflict, with Russia intensifying its attacks on Kyiv. Trump previously indicated a willingness to enact ‘major sanctions,’ contingent upon NATO allies ending oil purchases from Russia, a condition Moscow has thus far avoided. The Ukrainian leader also plans to address the need for long-term security guarantees to protect Ukraine from future Russian aggression.

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva voiced his opposition to potential 50% tariffs by the United States. He argued that such tariffs would be both political and illogical. Lula…

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva voiced his opposition to potential 50% tariffs by the United States. He argued that such tariffs would be both political and illogical. Lula stated that his government is prepared to negotiate on matters that would benefit both parties. However, he emphasized that Brazil would not compromise its democracy and sovereignty. The tariffs were imposed by former U.S. President Donald Trump in July, a move that Lula views against the backdrop of a ‘witch hunt’ against former President Jair Bolsonaro. Bolsonaro was accused of illegally holding power. This followed a Supreme Court decision on Thursday, where a panel of justices found that Bolsonaro had attempted a coup after losing the 2022 election to Lula, raising concerns about further actions by the U.S. against Brazil. Lula expressed pride in the Supreme Court’s historical ruling, which protects Brazil’s institutions and democratic rule of law. He noted that the decision followed months of investigation, which revealed a plot to assassinate him, the Vice President, and a Supreme Court justice. President Lula also highlighted that the tariff increases are not only misleading but also illogical, referencing a $410 billion surplus the U.S. has earned over the past 15 years in bilateral trade of goods and services. The comments from President Lula signal that Brazil is prepared for potential restrictions following the Supreme Court’s decision. Following the ruling, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio posted on X that Trump’s government would respond. Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described Rubio’s comments as a threat, stating that the country’s judiciary is independent, and Bolsonaro was given the right to due process. Bolsonaro left his home in Brasilia, where he was under house arrest, for medical treatment at a nearby hospital. This was his first public appearance after the ruling on Thursday. He was escorted by police to the DF Star Hospital in the Brazilian capital. Justice Alexandre de Moraes granted a temporary release on September 8. The 70-year-old right-wing politician had been under house arrest since early August, after de Moraes stated that Bolsonaro had violated the precautionary measures imposed on him during the coup trial. He was already wearing an ankle monitor.

China has reacted to former President Donald Trump’s threats of imposing tariffs. The response comes in light of Trump’s recent call for tariffs of 50-100% on China concerning its relations…

China has reacted to former President Donald Trump’s threats of imposing tariffs. The response comes in light of Trump’s recent call for tariffs of 50-100% on China concerning its relations with Russia. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi made it clear that China is committed to promoting peace talks to resolve sensitive issues. He also dismissed any possibility of China implementing reciprocal tariffs.

According to China Daily, Wang Yi stated during a media conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia, that war cannot solve problems, and sanctions only make them more complex. He emphasized that China does not participate in or plan for war and instead prioritizes peace talks, promoting political solutions to key issues through dialogue.

Wang Yi highlighted that China is a responsible nation with an excellent record on peace and security issues. He stressed the need to promote multilateralism, strengthen multilateral mechanisms, and jointly defend the principles of the UN Charter.

He added that amidst the current global chaos and conflict, China and Europe should be friends rather than rivals.

These comments were made following Trump’s call for tariffs on Chinese purchases of Russian oil until the end of the Ukraine conflict. In a Truth Social post, Trump stated that NATO’s commitment to winning the war has been less than 100% and that the purchase of Russian oil by some members of the alliance is shocking.

Trump directly commented on NATO members, saying that it greatly weakens their negotiating position and bargaining power with Russia.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant has urged the Trump administration and European countries to escalate economic pressure on Russia. He believes that strong sanctions are crucial to compelling President Putin to negotiate peace in Ukraine. During an appearance on NBC’s ‘Meet the Press,’ Bessant advocated for strict measures against nations continuing to purchase Russian oil. He stated that if the US and the European Union jointly impose secondary tariffs on these countries, Russia’s economy could face complete collapse, thereby forcing Putin to the negotiating table. Bessant recently criticized India and China, describing them as ‘countries playing the wrong role,’ alleging that their oil purchases indirectly support the war. The Trump government responded by imposing a 50% duty on Indian oil and a 145% duty on Chinese goods, though the duty on Chinese goods has been temporarily postponed for 90 days. India has voiced criticism of this policy, pointing out that several European nations also buy Russian energy without facing similar repercussions. Bessant acknowledged that the US and Europe must collaborate to influence Russia, observing that the situation has become a race between the Ukrainian army’s survival and the Russian economy’s resilience. This comment was made in the context of former President Trump’s admission that he has not yet been able to halt the Ukraine war, despite promising to end it if re-elected.

Peter Navarro, an advisor to former U.S. President Donald Trump, faced criticism on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) after posting accusations against India regarding its oil purchases from Russia. The X community responded with fact-checks, leading to community notes being added to Navarro’s post, which refuted his claims. Navarro then criticized Elon Musk, the owner of X.

In his post, Navarro alleged that India was profiting from buying Russian oil and thereby funding Russia’s war efforts. However, X users challenged these assertions. A community note clarified that India’s oil trade is essential for its energy security, not solely for profit. It also pointed out that India is not violating any international sanctions by purchasing Russian oil and that the U.S. itself continues to buy certain goods from Russia, suggesting a double standard. Navarro reacted negatively, dismissing the note as ‘nonsense’ and accusing Musk of promoting misinformation.

Navarro’s post focused on India’s purchase of Russian oil, stating that high tariffs from India were costing U.S. jobs, that India was buying Russian oil solely for profit, funding the Russian war machine, and that American taxpayers would have to pay more. He also criticized The Washington Post, referencing a report about the deteriorating diplomatic relationship between the U.S. and India. Navarro has previously used strong language against India, referring to the country as the ‘tariff king’, ‘Russia’s money laundering machine,’ and critiquing ‘Modi’s war in Ukraine’.

The 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit is set to take place in Tianjin, China. This summit holds significance not only as the 25th meeting but also because it may provide a strategic path to counter US dominance and pressure, potentially neutralizing Trump’s tariff policies. It is anticipated that India, China, and Russia will collectively take significant steps against Trump’s unilateral approach during this meeting.

Following a two-day visit to Japan, Prime Minister Modi departed for China on Saturday to participate in the SCO summit. The summit, commencing in Tianjin, will bring together representatives from over 20 countries, including India, Russia, and China. Prime Minister Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese Premier Xi Jinping are expected to play key roles in the discussions.
