District level selection trial was conducted by District Sports and Youth Welfare Department at the mini stadium of Ramanuja Higher Secondary School, Baikunthpur for admission to Bilaspur and Raipur Sports Academy. Players participated strongly in this 2-day selection trial held on 16 and 17 February.
In order to be included in the state level selection from Korea district, 12 boys have been selected in Athletics in the boys category, including Aryan Rajwade, Shivam Singh, Vikas Kumar, Satya Ram Sahu, Mukesh, Shivam Polai, Ashutosh, Akash Mishra, Amit Singh, Anurag. Pandey, Shiv Kumar. Similarly, Kailas Kumari, Nisha Singh, Priya Singh, Roshni Rajwade, Tameshwari, Satyavati, Gauri, Divya Nayak, Usha Packra, Neha Sonwani, Lilavati and Mahi Mercam are included in the girl child category. Aryan Rajwade, Devarsha Singh, Priyanshu and Vivek Gupta have been selected in the boys category for hockey. Due to non-fulfillment of the prescribed criteria in archery, no contestants could be selected and girls could not be selected due to non-participation by girls in hockey.
It is noteworthy that sports academies are being started in Bilaspur and Raipur from the next financial year. The center will be a residential sports academy, in which hockey, athletics, and archery boys and girls will be given free sports training.
