Truck drivers, the backbone of India’s economy and supply chain, often remain unsung heroes. To recognize these overlooked individuals and ensure their health and safety, TV9 Network and Shriram Finance initiated Highway Heroes Season 2. This unique initiative focused on the financial, mental, and physical well-being of truck drivers, along with their technical upskilling. Hundreds of drivers received training through the Logistics Skill Council (LSC) and were awarded Level-4 certificates, equivalent to a 12th-grade education. This certification will assist them in their careers and driving license renewals. During the closing event, trucking industry panelists discussed ways to make the lives of truck drivers easier, safer, and more dignified. Twelve selected drivers were honored on stage to boost their morale and confidence. Throughout the program, health check-ups, yoga sessions, TB awareness, financial literacy tips, and career guidance sessions gave Highway Heroes its unique identity.

Singer Zubeen Garg was involved in an accident during scuba diving in Singapore. He was admitted to the hospital, where he died during treatment. The sudden departure of Zubeen Garg…

Singer Zubeen Garg was involved in an accident during scuba diving in Singapore. He was admitted to the hospital, where he died during treatment. The sudden departure of Zubeen Garg from this world has saddened the Bollywood industry, and his fans are also grieving. Along with this, many questions regarding scuba diving have started to surface in people’s minds. How dangerous is scuba diving? Should non-swimmers do this activity or not? Which activity is easier, swimming or scuba diving? People are searching for answers to all these questions on social media and Google.

Scuba diving is an underwater activity. It uses a self-contained underwater breathing apparatus to avoid difficulty in breathing underwater. During this, one stays underwater for a long time and gets a chance to see natural and many things there. During this activity, fins are used in this program to move forward in the water. At the same time, a device called BCD is used to control buoyancy.

**Is scuba diving difficult?**

Scuba diving is not difficult, but it requires special skills. At first, you may find it difficult. However, good training and a passion for learning can give you mastery in this adventure activity. During scuba diving training, you must be fully proficient in swimming, kicking your legs, and breathing skills. You should try this activity in the sea only after good practice.

**Need for skills and confidence**

Scuba diving requires different skills and confidence than just swimming in the water. You don’t need to be an Olympic swimmer for this; you just need to be comfortable in the water. You should know how to walk in water. You should have the ability to swim a little distance and know how to handle a mask submerged in water.

**Is it necessary to know swimming for scuba diving?**

It is not necessary that if you don’t know swimming, you cannot try your hand at scuba diving. Programs like Discover Scuba Diving have been designed for such people. However, you must have a professional trainer during this. Also, you can only participate in “Try Dive” programs. Scuba diving completely alone can invite accidents. To be fully qualified to scuba dive, you must pass a swimming test.

**Difference between swimming and scuba diving**

During swimming, your hands and feet are used to move forward in the water. At the same time, in scuba diving, one moves forward with the help of swimming and fins. Apart from this, you have to depend on the scuba gear attached to you for buoyancy and breathing underwater. However, these complex equipment do not make this adventure activity difficult. Apart from all this, if you know swimming, then activities like scuba diving can be easier for you. Swimming can be a good base for recreational scuba diving.

President Donald Trump has urged foreign companies to not only invest in the United States but also to bring in expert personnel to train American workers in advanced manufacturing. Trump emphasized the need for the US to relearn skills, especially in sectors like semiconductors and shipbuilding, by learning directly from foreign companies making significant investments in the country. He stated that he wants these companies to bring their experts to teach and train American workers, facilitating knowledge transfer to ensure long-term benefits from foreign investment and restore American industrial strength. Trump cited shipbuilding as an example, highlighting the decline in US shipbuilding capabilities and advocating for temporary assistance from foreign experts to rebuild American expertise. He asserted that the US welcomes foreign investment and is open to learning from international partners to enhance its manufacturing capabilities.

Voting for the Vice President’s election is scheduled for September 9th. Polling will take place from 10 am to 5 pm, with the counting of votes commencing at 6 pm.…

Voting for the Vice President’s election is scheduled for September 9th. Polling will take place from 10 am to 5 pm, with the counting of votes commencing at 6 pm. The results are expected to be announced by the evening. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has nominated C.P. Radhakrishnan as its candidate, while the India bloc has put forward B. Sudarshan Reddy, a former Supreme Court judge.

Members of Parliament (MPs) from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will cast their votes in the Vice Presidential election. This includes nominated members of the Rajya Sabha. There is no whip issued for this election, and the voting is conducted through a secret ballot, allowing MPs to vote according to their discretion. However, votes are generally cast along party lines, though cross-voting has occurred in previous elections and is a possibility this time as well.

With 239 members in the Rajya Sabha and 542 in the Lok Sabha, a victory requires 391 votes. The NDA currently holds 425 MPs and is confident of securing additional votes from other parties. The YSRCP has announced its intention to vote in favor of the NDA, holding 7 Rajya Sabha and 4 Lok Sabha MPs. This brings the NDA’s support to 436 MPs. The BJP anticipates that Aam Aadmi Party member Swati Maliwal might also vote for the NDA.

Meanwhile, the BJD has not yet finalized its stance. The BRS has decided to abstain from voting in the Vice Presidential election. The BJD might support the NDA, and its leader, Naveen Patnaik, is in Delhi, potentially discussing support for the NDA with BJP leaders. The BRS has 4 Rajya Sabha MPs, and the BJD has 7.

The Lok Sabha’s 7 independent members have yet to declare their voting intentions, and the positions of the Akali Dal, ZPM, and VOTTP, each with one MP, are also unclear. The opposition currently holds 324 votes, and the margin of victory is expected to be between one hundred and one hundred and twenty-five votes.

In the 2022 election, Jagdeep Dhankhar defeated the opposition’s Margaret Alva by 346 votes. The margin of victory is expected to be smaller this time because the opposition is in a stronger position than before.

The NDA sources indicate that the opposition candidate is expected to receive around 150 votes in the Rajya Sabha and is anticipated to receive fewer than 90 votes. The NDA and the India bloc are conducting training sessions and mock polls for their MPs to ensure that every vote is valid and to prevent any votes from being invalidated.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced the Bronco test to enhance the fitness of the Indian cricket team. This test is being conducted at the…

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced the Bronco test to enhance the fitness of the Indian cricket team. This test is being conducted at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (COE). In this test, players must complete a predetermined race within 6 minutes. It is primarily designed for fast bowlers. Former Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin has questioned this test, raising concerns about who would be responsible if a player gets injured during the test. He stated that players could get injured while attempting to complete this test.

Ashwin mentioned on his YouTube channel ‘Ash ki Baat’ that the testing methods change whenever the team’s trainer changes. He believes that constantly changing training methods is very difficult for the players and could lead to injuries. He recalled experiencing this from 2017 to 2019 during Soham Desai’s tenure. He added that there is no need to change when everything is going well in the team. Soham Desai’s position was taken by Adrian Le Roux as the Strength and Conditioning Coach, who suggested the Bronco test, which Head Coach Gautam Gambhir also agreed to.

The Bronco test requires players, particularly fast bowlers, to complete a set race within 6 minutes. A cricketer starts with a 20-meter shuttle run, followed by 40-meter and 60-meter runs, combined to create one set. A cricketer is expected to run five such sets (a total of 1200 meters) without stopping. This test is already used in rugby and football.

The need for the test arose after India’s fast bowlers struggled with their fitness during the England tour. Only Mohammed Siraj played all five Test matches, while Jasprit Bumrah participated in only three. This test is in addition to the existing Yo-Yo test. According to reports, some players have already taken the Bronco test at the COE in Bengaluru.
