The Amrit Bharat Express is designed to operate at speeds between 160 and 180 km/h. It will consist of 23 coaches in total. These include 11 general class coaches, 8 sleeper class coaches, a pantry car, and 2 second-class coaches. One coach will be specifically equipped for passengers with disabilities. The introduction of this train will provide crucial support for migrant workers traveling from states near Gujarat. It will provide fast and direct transport even during peak travel periods.

The introduction of this affordable and accessible rail service has created a sense of joy and excitement throughout the region.

The Chief Minister highlighted that this new rail service would provide affordable and economical travel options to people from Rajim, Gariaband, and Devbhog areas to the capital city of Raipur. He emphasized the usefulness of the train for students, working professionals, and businesspeople. The Chief Minister stated that Rajim, known as the ‘Prayag’ of Chhattisgarh, is now connected to the railway network. Commuting from rural areas to Raipur has become easier, more convenient, and more cost-effective.

The Chief Minister mentioned that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chhattisgarh has witnessed continuous development over the last 19 months. He stated that the rapid investment in railway infrastructure would shape a new future for generations to come. He noted that the narrow-gauge train service from Dhamtari to Raipur, which existed approximately eight years ago, has been replaced by a broad-gauge train service. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that approximately 45,000 crore rupees are being invested in railway projects in Chhattisgarh, and around 7,000 crore rupees have been allocated in the budget for the financial year 2025-26 to ensure the rapid expansion and development of rail services in the state. The Vande Bharat train will operate between Danapur station and Jogbani, offering convenience to travelers. The train will depart from Jogbani in the morning and reach Danapur in the afternoon after an approximately 8-hour journey. On its return journey, it will depart from Danapur and arrive in Jogbani at night. Plans are underway to introduce a 16-rake Vande Bharat train due to high demand on this route.

The train will travel from Danapur to Jogbani, passing through Patliputra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Saharsa, Madhepura, and Purnia. While the exact route and timings are yet to be officially announced, the train is likely to be inaugurated during the Prime Minister’s visit for the Purnia Airport inauguration.

The introduction of the Vande Bharat train will ease travel for those traveling from Patna to Nepal. Jogbani station is located near the India-Nepal border, allowing people to reach the border on foot.

During late September and early October, this route experiences high passenger traffic. To manage the extra rush and enhance passenger convenience, the Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to run seven pairs of additional festive special trains through Kishanganj. The Kishanganj-Amritsar train (05734/05733) will commence its service on October 2 from Kishanganj and will run between Kishanganj and Amritsar. This train will operate for seven round trips from both sides, from October 2 to October 15.

In addition to this, the Shalimar-Rangapara North-Shalimar train (08047/08048) will run from September 19 to October 4, completing three trips. The Howrah-Lamding-Howrah train (03005/03006) will operate from September 26 to November 29, with ten trips each way. The New Jalpaiguri-Gomti Nagar-New Jalpaiguri train (05742/05741) will run from September 28 to November 3, completing six trips each way. The Kolkata-New Jalpaiguri-Kolkata train (03129/03130) will operate from September 28 to November 24, with ten trips each way.
