Switch2 consoles have gone out of stock globally within a day of its roll out. Priced at $499, Switch 2 comes with some major features upgrade over previous gen Switch.

Nintendo Switch2 India Launch date

While the global launch of Switch2 happned on 5 June, it will only be available in India from 8 June 2025. The price of Switch2 is expected to be somewhere around Rs 58,000 and Rs 65,000.

Launched in 2017, Nintendo sold around 150 million units of Switch first gen worldwide as of December 2024. Before switch series Nintendo was struggling due to poor sales of Wii U which resulted in loss of profit and market share.

During interaction with think tanks and young professionals, Tharoor reiterated India’s stance that “there will be a price to pay” if terrorist attacks like the one in Pahalgam are carried out in India.

Reacting to the delegation visit, he said, “and I’m very pleased to say that everywhere we went and I could say this quite confidently without exception, we have received both of what we sought. We have received understanding and we have received solidarity.”

He further added that the prime focus is economic advances that are so essential to pull a few of the few people who remain below the poverty line in the country.

“Our focus has when this kind of thing is done to us, and for very cynical motives, which I think are pretty apparent so I won’t spell them out, it was necessary for us to show that we will not allow people to cross the border and kill our citizens with impunity. That for terror strikes like this, which show all the hallmarks of meticulous planning and military style execution, that there will be a price to pay. And that was very strongly the message that we sent,” Tharoor added, IANS reported.

The Indian delegation, led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, engaged with think-tanks at the US Embassy, highlighting India’s fight against terrorism and the diverse aspects of the India-US partnership. The delegation comprised MPs from various parties, including Shambhavi Chaudhary (Lok Janshakti Party), Sarfaraz Ahmed (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha), G.M. Harish Balayogi (Telugu Desam Party), BJP members Shashank Mani Tripathi, Tejasvi Surya, and Bhubaneswar Kalita, former Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu, and Shiv Sena’s Milind Deora.

To get rid of this challenge, Hassabis and his DeepMind team are developing a disruptive artificial intelligence system. This AI is designed to read, understand, and respond to routine emails in a user’s unique writing style, effectively serving as a digital personal assistant. The goal is to automate tedious communication tasks, allowing users to focus on more meaningful work and personal interactions. Hassabis highlights that this technology will also shield users from the attention-seeking algorithms installed by major tech companies, helping people take control over their digital lives.

Demis Hassabis is not new to solving complex problems. He is known for leading the development of AlphaFold, an AI system which cracked the 50-year-old challenge of predicting protein structures—a scientific breakthrough that helped him win the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Since co-founding DeepMind in 2010, which was later acquired by Google in 2014, Hassabis has kept pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence. Today, he leads Google’s efforts toward artificial general intelligence (AGI), with a vision to use AI not just for scientific discovery but also to improve everyday life.

During the special event, the tech giant is expected to launch its highly anticipated smartphones on August 13 at a ‘Made by Google’ event. However, fans won’t have to wait long, as the devices are expected to hit stores a week later, on August 20 reportedly. 

Google Invitation To Superfans 

Google has sent out invitations to Pixel Superfans to apply for a pre-launch Pixel Penthouse event, scheduled for June 27 in London. The invitation, shared by a publication, reveals that Superfans can apply to win one of 25 slots to attend the 1.5-hour-long event, enabling fans to experience the latest features and upgrades to Android 16 as well.

The 1.5-hour session promises attendees hands-on access to unreleased Pixel hardware, Q&A interactions with Google employees, and Pixel-themed goodies reportedly. The last date to apply is June 4, and the winners are scheduled to be announced on June 11, as mentioned in the invite. 

However, the invitation doesn’t confirm which devices will be showcased. Historically, tech giant Google has unveiled its Pixel devices in October. However, it advanced the launch timeline last year for the Pixel 9 series, releasing it in August before Apple unveiled the iPhone 16 series. 

Google Pixel 10 Series: Expected Chipset And Colour Options 

Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 lineup is expected to be powered by the new Tensor G5 chipset. The standard Pixel 10 is rumored to launch in Blue, Limoncello (Yellow), Iris (Purple), and Obsidian (Black) color options. Meanwhile, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL may be offered in Green, Sterling (Grey), Porcelain (White), and Obsidian (Black) variants. 

However, rumors suggest that the Pixel 10 may feature a 48MP wide and a 13MP ultra-wide camera setup—similar to the Google Pixel 9a. This would be a downgrade from the 50MP and 48MP lenses found on the Pixel 9. Moreover, the Google Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL are expected to retain the same 50MP + 48MP + 48MP triple-camera system seen on the current Pixel 9 Pro models. 

The new development is recently confirmed by the Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in the Q and A section of the weekly Power On newsletter. The app is also said to be in active testing among employees at the company’s campus. Notably, Instagram is currently available for the Apple tablet on the App Store. However, it is a zoomed-in version of the iPhone app, with the content appearing at the centre of the screen. 

Instagram For iPad: What To Expect 

Instagram’s iPad app is set to bring a more refined and optimized user experience, starting with enhanced display scaling that takes full advantage of the iPad’s larger screen and aspect ratio. The interface is expected to feature a cleaner, more intuitive layout tailored specifically for tablets. 

The native version is likely to support iPadOS features such as Split View, facilitating easier navigation and improved interaction while multitasking with other applications.  

Adding further, the exclusive layout options and interface modes could further elevate the app’s usability on iPad. For video lovers, the update promises smoother scrolling and improved video playback, delivering a more immersive, cinematic experience while watching Reels in full-screen mode. 

Furthermore, Instagram has significantly evolved, now supporting high-resolution images, widescreen videos, and longer-form content—features that are ideally suited for tablet browsing. The growing competition from platforms like YouTube Shorts and TikTok, which already offers a dedicated iPad app and continues to attract younger audiences, has likely pushed Instagram to step up and ensure its iPad users no longer feel overlooked.

Currently, iPad users can only access Instagram through the iPhone version of the app, which is not optimised for the tablet interface. 

The smartphone is expected to arrive with the new OnePlus AI features and the Plus Key, and will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It is likely a rebranded version of the OnePlus 13T, which launched in China last month. The OnePlus 13s will be available in three colour options: Black Velvet, Pink Satin, and Green Silk. The smartphone is also expected to run OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15, in line with other recent OnePlus releases. 

OnePlus 13s Specifications (Expected)

The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.32-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. It will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and may house a large 6,260mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging. The device will measure 8.15mm in thickness and weigh approximately 185g. 

On the photography front, the rear camera setup is likely to include a 50MP IMX906 primary sensor with OIS and a 50MP 2x telephoto lens, while a 32MP front camera is confirmed for selfies. 

OnePlus is also introducing a suite of AI features with the 13s, including AI VoiceScribe, AI Translation, AI Search, AI Reframe, and AI Best Face 2.0. The smartphone will also incorporate one of the largest vapor chambers in OnePlus’ lineup, along with a unique cooling layer integrated into the back panel for improved thermal management. 

OnePlus 13s Price In India And Availability 

The device is expected to be priced at around Rs 55,000, positioning it neatly between the OnePlus 13R (Rs 42,999) and the OnePlus 13 (Rs 69,999). It will be available for purchase through Amazon, the official OnePlus website, and offline retail stores across India. 

PM Modi added that there is immense potential for cooperation to fight common challenges like cybercrime, organised crime, and drug trafficking.

Earlier, PM Modi met with the Paraguay President at Hyderabad House in New Delhi. Before this, the latter paid a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, laying a wreath at the memorial. 

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) shared the pictures on the social media platform X, stating, “Honouring the values of peace and non-violence. President Santiago Pena Palacios of Paraguay paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat today.”

The visit of the Paraguay President is part of his three-day state visit to India, which will conclude on June 4. He arrived in New Delhi on his first state visit to India and was accorded a ceremonial welcome along with a Guard of Honour at Palam Air Force Station. 

The Ministry of External Affairs, in a statement, informed that at the invitation of PM Modi, the President of Paraguay will be on a state visit to India from June 2 to 4, 2025. In addition, he will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Ministers, senior officials, and business representatives. 

President Peña will also visit Mumbai before returning to Paraguay, and while there, he will meet the state political leadership, business and industry representatives, startups, innovators, and tech leaders.

The statement of MEA continued to explain the diplomatic relations between India and Paraguay. The two nations established diplomatic relations on September 13, 1961 and since then have developed cooperation in sectors, including agriculture, trade, health, information technology, and pharmaceuticals.

Microsoft has introduced  lightweight formatting in Notepad, providing additional flexibility for users to structure content across the files. 

“The experience supports Markdown style input and files for users who prefer to work directly with the lightweight markup language. To get started, use the new formatting toolbar to apply formatting as you type or to selected text, including bold and italic styling, hyperlinks, and support for simple lists and headings,” Grochocki wrote in the blog.

If the user however wants to return to plain text, they can clear all formatting from the formatting toolbar or from the edit menu. 

Users can switch between formatted Markdown and Markdown syntax views in the view menu or by selecting the toggle button in the status bar at the bottom of the window. If users prefer, they can disable support for formatting entirely in app settings.

A couple of days ago, Microsoft announced that users can write new content in Notepad using generative AI.

“The new write feature helps you quickly draft text based on your prompt, making it easy to start from a blank page or build upon existing content with AI-powered assistance,” it said.

To get started, place your cursor where you want to insert new text or select content you’d like to use as a reference. Then right-click and choose Write, select Write from the Copilot menu, or use the Ctrl + Q keyboard shortcut. Enter your instruction into the dialog and click Send. The AI-generated output will appear directly on the canvas.

You can select Keep text to add it to your document or Discard it if it doesn’t fit your needs. You can also continue refining the output by entering follow-up prompts to evolve your draft further. If you prefer, you can disable AI features in app settings, Microsoft added.

“Pakistan is a brother, a friend, a good neighbour, we will reach an agreement with them — everything was written. But carefully read the excellent foreign policy of the great Nehru ji,” Dubey remarked sarcastically in his post.

The excerpt he highlighted from Nehru’s letter read: “The idea of any conflict with Pakistan is one which is repugnant to us, and we on our part will never initiate it. I am convinced that the future of India and Pakistan lies in their friendship and cooperation for the benefit of both.”

According to Dubey, the US forwarded this letter to then Pakistani military ruler Ayub Khan. “After seeing this letter, did we not give Pakistan the opportunity to attack India in 1965? What should one say about a leader who discloses the country’s vulnerabilities to foreign powers, especially Pakistan?” Dubey asked.

This is not the first time Dubey has invoked declassified documents to attack Congress governments. In recent months, he has posted excerpts from US diplomatic cables and correspondence to revisit key moments in India’s foreign relations — from the 1962 war with China to the 1972 Simla Agreement.

Earlier, Dubey had cited a declassified letter from former US President Ronald Reagan to then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi to accuse the Congress party of hypocrisy for questioning American involvement in India-Pakistan diplomacy.

He also resurrected a controversy by alleging that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi “ceded” Indian territory to Pakistan in 1968 as part of the post-war boundary settlement in the Rann of Kutch region.

Surendran took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday and alleged that Malhotra’s trip to Kannur was sponsored by Kerala Tourism, which is headed by Tourism Minister P.A. Mohammed Riyas, the son-in-law of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He questioned the purpose of her visit and the individuals she met during her stay.

“Pak-Spy Jyoti Malhotra’s Kannur trip was sponsored by Kerala Tourism, run by none other than Pinarayi Vijayan’s son-in-law. Who did she meet? Where did she go? What’s the real agenda? Why is Kerala rolling out red carpets for a Pak-linked spy?” Surendran posted on X.

These allegations come weeks after Malhotra, a resident of Hisar and creator of the ‘Travel with JO’ YouTube channel, was arrested as part of a crackdown on alleged ISI-backed spy network across Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi following Operation Sindoor. She faces charges under the Official Secrets Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Investigators revealed that Malhotra maintained direct contact with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, allegedly passed sensitive data and had multiple interactions at the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi. She also reportedly made two trips to Pakistan, and one surfaced video shows her in Lahore’s Anarkali Bazaar under armed escort. She was remanded to 14-day judicial custody on May 26, 2025.

The Haryana Police have been examining approximately 13 terabytes of data recovered from five mobile phones and a laptop belonging to Malhotra and an accomplice, Harkirat. Her bank accounts are also under investigation. While investigators have not found any evidence that she accessed sensitive military, defense or strategic information, nor any connections to terrorist activities or organizations, Malhotra has admitted to being in contact with known Pakistani intelligence operatives.

The Kerala Tourism Department’s Role

A public sector undertaking, the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) conducts and regulates tourism activities in the state. Headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram, it also operates hotels, resorts and tourist rest houses in the state.

The involvement of the Kerala Tourism Department in hosting Malhotra during her visit to Kannur raises questions about the vetting process for foreign visitors and the potential misuse of state resources. The department has yet to respond to the allegations made by Surendran.

The allegations have sparked a political controversy in the state. The BJP is demanding a probe into the matter. Surendran has sought transparency regarding the details of Malhotra’s visit and the individuals she interacted with during her stay in Kannur.

The Kerala government has not any statement in this regard so far.
