The rivalry between tech giants often leads to playful jabs, and the recent launch of the iPhone 17 Series has provided Samsung with an opportunity to take a swipe at Apple. While Samsung has been solidifying its position in the foldable phone market, Apple has yet to release a foldable device, or even hint at one during its events. Following the unveiling of the new iPhone series, Samsung posted a series of digs related to foldable phones. Although the company did not directly mention Apple, the implications were clear in their posts.

Following the official launch of the iPhone 17 Series, Samsung re-shared a post from 2022 on the microblogging platform X. The 2022 post read: ‘Let us know when it folds.’

Samsung had entered the foldable segment before 2022, and the company reiterated this with the re-shared post, stating, ‘Can’t believe this is still relevant.’

The criticisms didn’t stop there. Samsung also targeted Apple’s camera system, writing, “48MP x 3 still doesn’t equal 200MP.” In another post, the company also expressed disbelief that people had to wait five years for a sleep score feature.

People reacted on X. Many Apple enthusiasts defended their company.

One user suggested that Samsung could surpass Apple if they improved their video recording quality.

Others remarked that 200MP doesn’t necessarily guarantee good photos.

Some users also pointed out that Samsung should address the green line issue that has plagued some of their phones.

Apple launched the iPhone 17 Air, which is the thinnest handset to date, measuring 5.6 millimeters in thickness. This iPhone is even thinner than Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge, which measures 5.8 millimeters. The iPhone 17 Air will go on sale starting September 19th, with the 256GB variant priced at ₹1,19,900. More storage options of 512GB and 1TB are also available for this phone.
