In a recent match, the Dehradun Warriors defeated the Pithoragarh Hurricanes by 10 wickets. The Warriors’ bowlers restricted the Hurricanes to a score of only 120 runs. Mayank Mishra, Naveen Kumar Singh, and Rakshit Rohi each took two wickets. The Warriors easily chased the target in 9.5 overs, with Yuvraj Chaudhary scoring 86 runs and Sanskar Ramesh Rawat scoring 25 runs. The match, held at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday, September 17th, was clouded by issues. The Pakistan team and their cricket board were demanding the removal of match referee Andy Pycroft after a disagreement about handshakes following the match against India. The ICC firmly rejected their demand. Consequently, the Pakistan team threatened to boycott the match and the tournament, which appeared to materialize when they didn’t arrive at the stadium on time. The match was delayed for an hour, and a compromise was reached.

Despite the initial poor batting display, Pakistan’s troubles continued from the previous matches. Opener Saim Ayub was dismissed in the first over for the third consecutive match without scoring any runs. The other batsmen failed to perform well, and wickets fell regularly. UAE’s opener, Alishan Sharafu, started aggressively and scored some boundaries, but he was bowled by Shaheen in the third over. Captain Muhammad Wasim was soon dismissed by spinner Abrar Ahmed, leaving the score at 37 runs for 3 wickets by the sixth over. A significant partnership developed between Rahul Chopra (35) and Dhruv Parashar (20), but it was slow, giving Pakistan an opportunity to come back. Chopra was out at a score of 85 in the 14th over, and the entire innings was wrapped up at 105 runs. Shaheen, Haris Rauf, and Abrar took 2 wickets each for Pakistan. During the interview, Shubman Gill, the vice-captain of India’s T20I team, was asked about Virat Kohli. In the Asia Cup 2025, Shubman Gill made a strong start. He now aims to maintain this form. Against the UAE, he scored 20 runs not out in just 9 balls, including 2 fours and 1 six. This performance led to India’s impressive 9-wicket victory with 93 balls to spare. The UAE team was bowled out for a mere 57 runs in the match.

I feel more often than not we have been able to figure out what exactly went wrong. In sports, you know you can have a very good time and at the same time there will be periods when you won’t be performing well. In CSK, more often than not, we are on the higher side.

“So, we do talk about the processes. But at the same time we do want the result to come to our side. Last year it wasn’t there. But looking ahead, we will try to sort out most of the things, and we will hopefully be at our best.”

Dhoni admitted CSK’s performance has not been satisfactory in the past few seasons. He emphasized the importance of reviewing and tackling key problem areas before the next season. He also spoke about his long-standing relationship with the CSK franchise and how it has shaped him as a cricketer and a person.
