  • Succession season 3 to premiere on October 18

    The third season of HBO’s immensely successful satirical comedy-drama series Succession will stream on Disney+ Hotstar on October 18. The new season will comprise nine episodes. Succession tells the story of the Roy family and the power struggle between Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) children to be his successor when he retires as organisation head.

    Ambushed by his rebellious son Kendall (Jeremy Strong) at the end of season two, Logan Roy begins the upcoming season in a perilous position, scrambling to secure familial, political, and financial alliances. Tensions rise as a bitter corporate battle threatens to turn into a family civil war.

    Apart from Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Alan Ruck, and Nicholas Braun, actors like Adrien Brody, Alexander Skarsgard, Sanaa Lathan, Linda Emond, Jihae Kim, Hope Davis, Dasha Nekrasova, and Ella Rumpf have joined the cast for this season. 

    Created, showrun and executive produced by Jesse Armstrong, the series started production on the third season in November last year. Succession season one premiered in June 2018, while its second season came out in August 2019.

  • ‘Succession’ coming back with season 3 on HBO in October

    WASHINGTON: The beloved Emmy-winning comedy-drama ‘Succession’ is returning with season three on HBO in October.

    HBO on Monday, August 23, 2021, confirmed that the insanely popular series will return in October. Sharing a photo of Brian Cox’s character Logan Roy on Twitter, HBO captioned it as, “October.”

    As per Variety, after production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the third season of ‘Succession’ began filming in fall 2020 in New York City.

    Created by Jesse Armstrong, the comedy-drama follows the story of the Roy family as they prepare for the next phase of their media conglomerate, Waystar RoyCo, amid family patriarch Logan’s ailing health.

    ‘Succession’ stars Brian Cox as Logan Roy, Jeremy Strong as Kendall Roy, Sarah Snook as Shiv Roy, Kieran Culkin as Roman Roy, Alan Ruck as Connor Roy, Nicholas Braun as Cousin Greg, Matthew Macfadyen as Tom Wambsgans, and J. Smith-Cameron as Gerri Kellman.

    Peter Friedman, Dagmara Dominczyk, Justine Lupe, David Rasche, Fisher Stevens, Hiam Abbass, Arian Moayed, Harriet Walter, and James Cromwell will be reprising their roles in the third season as well.

    Adrien Brody, Alexander Skarsgard, Sanaa Lathan, Linda Emond, Jihae, Hope Davis, Dasha Nekrasova, and Ella Rumpf are the new addition to the cast for ‘Succession’ season 3.

    Jesse Armstrong, who serves as the showrunner, is also the executive producer of the show along with Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Scott Ferguson, Jon Brown, and Will Ferrell.

    The hit series won seven Emmys for its second season, including one for outstanding drama. 

  • ‘Succession’ season 3 cast adds Alexander Skarsgard

    HBO’s Succession has roped in actor Alexander Skarsgård for its upcoming season 3. The satirical drama, created by Jesse Armstron, follows the members of the immoral Roy family who fight to take control over a media conglomerate, Waystar Roy Co. Season 2 ended with Logan Roy (Biran Cox) being ambushed by his rebellious son Kendall (Jeremy Strong).

    According to Deadline, Skarsgård will play the role of Lukas Matsson in the third season, and the character is described as a “successful, confrontational tech founder and CEO.”

    Skarsgård joins a cast that currently includes Cox, Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Hiam Abbass, Nicholas Braun, Peter Friedman, Matthew Macfadyen, Alan Ruck, Rob Yang, and more.

    Among the HBO audience, Skarsgård is known for winning the Emmy and Golden Globe for Big Little Lies.

    The actor is well-known for his TV roles in True Blood, Generation Kill, The Little Drummer Girl and The Stand. On the film front, he was recently seen in Godzilla vs Kong, and his credits include The Aftermath, Long Shot, and The Legend of Tarzan.

    Season 3 is currently in production in New York after it was delayed last year due to the pandemic.

    Show creator Armstrong also serves as showrunner, and executive produces along with Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Will Ferrell, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Jon Brown, and Scott Ferguson.
