In a stirring address at Itanagar’s Lok Bhawan, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik declared that State Formation Day celebrations for Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Himachal Pradesh serve as vital platforms for strengthening India’s national fabric, aligning perfectly with PM Modi’s visionary ‘One India, Great India’ campaign.

The Friday event brimmed with cultural fervor, uniting expatriate communities in a display of shared joy and solidarity. Parnaik highlighted how these programs bridge distances, allowing participants to exchange experiences, empathize with mutual dreams, and tackle common hurdles faced far from home.

‘Initiatives like these draw people closer, nurturing a profound sense of nationalism and togetherness,’ the Governor stated, underscoring their role in weaving India’s diverse populace into a cohesive whole.

Joined by First Lady Anagha Parnaik, he commended the significant roles played by Gujaratis, Maharashtrians, and Himachalis in Arunachal’s development. He fondly recalled Gujarat’s ancient cultural links and Maharashtra’s steadfast support during the challenging years after the 1962 conflict, when national unity aided community rebuilding.

The program, meticulously planned to embody mutual admiration and cultural interchange, featured spectacular performances. Rajiv Gandhi University students enthralled with authentic Arunachali folk dances, while Manami Gamlin’s exquisite Lavani dance from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya added a classical touch, vividly illustrating the vibrancy of Indian heritage across states.
