  • Stalin says DMK will dedicate INDIA bloc’s victory in Lok Sabha polls to Karunanidhi

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and ruling DMK President M K Stalin on Sunday said his party would dedicate the INDIA bloc’s victory in the Lok Sabha polls to late party patriarch M Karunanidhi and celebrate his centenary at the national level.

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Karunanidhi (1924-2018) on June 3, which also marks the culmination of year-long (2023-24) centenary celebrations of the DMK icon, Stalin heaped praise on the leader for his contributions to democracy and the nation. Whenever democracy faced crisis situations, “leaders from North India looked up to Karunanidhi” and it was his “stellar contributions” that ensured the retrieval of democracy and brought stability to the government, and “this cannot be disputed by anybody”, Stalin said.

“It was Karunanidhi who championed state autonomy at the national level, batting for federalism.” He went on to say, “The Lok Sabha election results will be out on June 4. That day we shall hoist the victory flag and dedicate INDIA’s (bloc) victory to Kalaignar,” he said, adding that the centenary celebrations would be organised at the national level. The DMK has invited INDIA bloc leaders for the centenary celebrations on June 3 at its Delhi party office. The Dravidian party chief said that Karunanidhi, through his actions, has strongly reinforced DMK’s commitment to the ideals of social justice, harmony, state autonomy and protecting the mother tongue. That is why “those doing communal politics” are targeting the DMK “with malice” in poll-bound regions of the country by “spreading rumours”, Stalin said. In a letter to party workers, Stalin exhorted them to celebrate the birth centenary of late party patriarch Karunanidhi on June 3 by organising events around welfare of the people, and said that such events should be adhere to the Model Code of Conduct which is in force. Stalin said the year-long centenary celebrations that commenced on June 3, 2023 and set to conclude on June 3 this year, was marked by DMK regime’s stellar schemes and initiatives that are beneficial to the people. The Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital in Guindy, Chennai, the Kalaignar Centenary Library in Madurai and the Kalaignar Memorial on the Marina beachfront were inaugurated during 2023-24 to mark the centenary celebrations. Referring to a slew of party events to mark the centenary year, the DMK president said that thanks to the work of all the party’s office-bearers, about one crore new members had been enrolled, which has taken the party’s membership count to 2 crore plus, he said, appreciating the “great work”.

The DMK government, which continuously announces and implements important programs in various sectors, has introduced many important programs for women that have all been well received.

The CM has mentioned on many occasions that the DMK government will proactively work for women’s rights and that women will soon achieve equality with men in the state.

A look at some of the key measures and achievements:

    Free bus rides

The free bus ride for women has probably been the most-talked-about measure in the last two years. Many working women have hailed the move and said it has helped them enormously.

Last February, Transport Minister SS Sivasankar said that till then he free bus travel scheme had benefitted women 233 crore 71 lakh times and an average of 40 lakh free tickets were being issued every day.

  • ‘Governments not toeing Hindutva ‘not safe’ under BJP-led dispensation at Centre’: Yashwant Sinha

    By PTI

CHENNAI: Yashwant Sinha, the Opposition nominee for the next month’s Presidential election, on Thursday alleged that any government which believes in the Constitution and secularism and does not believe in Hindutva is not safe in this country.

Addressing a meeting of DMK and its allies which extended support to him, Sinha said they (BJP) have found a scapegoat to occupy the ‘exalted chair’ of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Sinha said, “But what does this show? This shows that this ruling party at the Centre and the government of India have absolutely no respect for the federal structure of our Constitution.”

They are violating one convention after convention of the Constitution, he alleged.

“I was listening to the speech of the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra and he was constantly talking of Hindutva and he was saying that we brought down this government because it did not believe in Hindutva. Which means that any government which believes in the Constitution, which does not believe in Hindutva but believes in secularism is not safe in this country,” he said.

“Me agreeing to contest the Presidential election is ‘a continuous struggle’ against the alleged excesses of the Central government and the BJP that runs it. Until 2014, I was heading the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance,” Sinha said and added that it was in sync with the tradition that a person from the Opposition should be helming it.

“Now, a ruling party member heads that committee. It is another matter that he happens to be my son (Jayant Sinha). But I have no hesitation in saying that this is a wrong practice,” he said.

Sinha assured that he would strictly uphold the Constitution and its provisions if elected to the office of the President.

On his arrival at the DMK headquarters ‘Anna Arivalayam’, Sinha was welcomed and taken into the party office by Stalin and he presided over a meet of his party and its allies which extended their support to the former Union Minister.

While Stalin hailed Sinha as a ‘man of eminence’, MDMK chief and Rajya Sabha member Vaiko said, ‘We all are with you’.

Leaders of DMK’s alliance parties, including the Congress party’s (legislature party leader) K Selvaperunthagai, spoke assuring whole-hearted support to Sinha.

Representatives of the Left parties and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi also promised support to Sinha.

  • Federalism being destroyed due to BJP’s scant respect for states’ rights, says Stalin

    By PTI

CHENNAI: The ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu on Friday alleged that federalism was being “destroyed” in the country due to the “scant respect” BJP had for states’ rights and called for opposition unity to take on the saffron organisation, as its chief M K Stalin attended a virtual meeting convened by Congress President Sonia Gandhi today which deliberated on the subject.

Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, along with DMK Parliamentary Party Leader T R Baalu, attended the meeting of 19 non-BJP political parties chaired by Gandhi virtually, and also uploaded on his Twitter page, the joint statement of the opposition leaders, where they announced organising protests and demonstrations across the country from September 20 to 30, while urging the people to save India for a better tomorrow.

“Federalism is being destroyed due to the scant respect BJP has for states’ rights and it is imperative that the opposition stands united at this hour. The recent Parliament session has witnessed our unity. It must grow stronger & DMK supports the joint statement in toto,” Stalin said in the tweet.

After the meeting of the Opposition parties, where they stressed on unitedly moving forward to defeat the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the leaders also put out a 11-point charter of demands before the Centre, which was also shared by Stalin on his Twitter handle.

  • ‘EC must ensure level playing field’: Stalin supports Mamata, tells poll body to be neutral

    By PTI
CHENNAI: Supporting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, DMK president M K Stalin on Tuesday said the Election Commission must ensure a level playing field for all parties and maintain impartiality.

As Banerjee began a dharna in Kolkata to protest against the poll panel’s decision barring her from campaigning for 24 hours, Stalin said ‘faith in our democracy rests on free and fair elections.’

In a tweet, the DMK chief said the EC “must ensure a level playing field for all parties and candidates and ensure that impartiality and neutrality is maintained.# Mamata Banerjee.”

After the EC on Monday barred Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee from campaigning for 24 hours, her party claimed that the poll panel was behaving like a ‘wing of the BJP’ and alleged the decision smacked of authoritarianism.

The poll panel’s order came after Banerjee’s remarks against central police forces and her statement, which allegedly had religious overtones.

  • Editorial :- Soniya Gandhi Aur Rahul Urban Naksalijm Ke Mukhiya Hain ….?

The start of a not-for-my-name campaign such as Robert Vadra’s Jija Tahasin Punawalah started on the patronage of Pakistan, in the same way, the campaign of ‘Mein Urban Naxal’ has been started by Arundhati Roy and others by the so-called intellectuals.

It means that being called the Naxalite is going to be a matter of pride for some people. All these leaders are led by Congress President Rahul Gandhi at the behest of Sonia Gandhi. In this, the role of a special assistant is played by Manu Singhvi and Chidambaram and Salman Khurshid.

Salman Khurshid had said in the last week that the freedom of expression and freedom of expression in the presence of the leftist student leaders in the presence of the leaders who were engaged in freedom during the martyrdom of Afzal Guru in JNU; Were against the policy of liberalism.

Congress spokesman and Supreme Court advocate Manu Singhvi opened the doors of the Supreme Court in midnight against the arrest of the Arun Naxal (Marxist) supporters. He did not take such a step against Nirbhaya as a reporter who did the same.

P Chidambaram has now made a statement that ‘no matter as urban naxalism, they are leftist intellectuals’.

It is notable that it was Chidambaram who took over as Home Minister during the UPA regime, he said that the Naxalites are our first rank enemies. He said that we can finish whatever we can, whatever we can.

In truth, they are representing the Urban Naxalism at the UPA Government’s time.

One of the main propaganda of Urban Naxalism is the destruction of India’s glorious history, creating an environment in the entire country against Hinduism.

That is why Chidambaram said in Lucknow: The fact that poverty was always in India and it was promoted as a prosperous country was false. He said that giving education that India was prosperous 500 years ago and was a land of milk and honey, factually incorrect. There was poverty in India and it was. Yes, there was certainly a prosperous area somewhere.

He said that books that teach lessons of India’s glorious past should be burnt.

Carl Marcus also thought this: Calicut’s father, the age of Marcus, considered India to be a historically poor country. He claimed that India’s “golden period” is just an illusion. India has always been a country of poor and hungry. Not only that, Marcus had said that the British rulers did good by destroying India’s cottage industry and economy, so that India could be modernized.

From India, which has a symbolic glorious history of the saffron flag, it has the institutions and leaders who look after the interests of the Congress and other India. That is why all these people consider saffron as poison.

When Kamal Haasan returned from Tamil Nadu after coming to Tamilnadu with the mantra of Kerala Chief Minister Vijayan, Stalin, the newly elected president of the DMK, said today that he is against saffronisation.

While imitating the urban Naxalism, Rahul Gandhi tried to give a different religion to Lingayat for the distribution of Hindus in Karnataka.

As soon as Beni Hinn and Rambabu, Rahul Gandhi is trying to defame people by adopting a polychromatic form. Beni Hinn’s wife was a friend of Sonia Gandhi.

The second basis of Urban Naxalism is the propaganda against soldiers, and infiltration in the army:

On this basis, the leaders of the Left and the current Congress are misguiding against the Indian army. Sandeep Dikshit of Congress had even asked Army Chief Rawat to the roadside of the road. Congrats and party leaders also questioned Surgical Strike.

Ghulam Nabi Azad said till now that the operation of the Indian army in Kashmir is killing more civilians than the terrorists.

This proves that Congress leaders are the leaders of Urban Naxalism.

It is also necessary to discuss some of what is related to the Church of the Naxalism.

There are 4 wings of armed forces in the west: the army, the air force, the navy and the church.

On the arrest of Urban Naxalism, especially the anger is being shown by the Congress and the Left leaders across the country.

In response to this, Rahul Gandhi said that: In the new India, there is only one place for the NGO and its name is RSS. All other NGOs should be closed. Send all the workers to jail and shoot the complainant. Welcome to New India.

The reason behind revealing such kind of fury is that the hard work is being done by the current government on those who were anti-India activities which were anti-India activities with the help of western countries.

It has come to the notice that NGOs running anti-India activities are supported by Christian missionaries from Western countries.

It is often said that there are four wings of armed forces in the west: the army, the air force, the navy and the church.

Officials say that behind the sudden increase in urban Naxal activities, there has been foreign aid from church based missionaries. Due to this, Rahul Gandhi gave the above statement.

Amar Bhushan, former officer of Research and Analysis Wing says that funds have been stopped after action on NGOs. Missionaries, Naxalites and their urban allies have become desperate. Now they will look for all possible ways to break the country. Bhushan says, in my opinion, the urban Naxalite is the most dangerous.
