The brother of Raja Raghuvanshi, the Indore businessman murdered during his honeymoon in Meghalaya, is calling for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry. Vipin Raghuvanshi alleges that a recently surfaced phone conversation casts suspicion on Sonam Raghuvanshi’s family’s involvement in the crime. Police investigations indicate that Sonam orchestrated the murder with her lover, Raj Kushwaha, and three others. Raja’s body was found in a ravine in Sohra on June 2. Vipin claims the Meghalaya police’s investigation was inadequate, particularly regarding the easy bail granted to several co-accused. He also cited an unverified call recording suggesting Sonam communicated with her family from jail, a claim her family denies. He further accuses Sonam’s family of assisting with her bail. Recently, the East Khasi Hills Court granted bail to Silom James, who was accused of evidence tampering and sheltering Sonam and Raj. Earlier, Lokendra Singh Tomar and Balbir Ahirwa also received bail. Sonam, Raj Kushwaha, and the three alleged killers remain in judicial custody.

The murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, which occurred during his honeymoon in Meghalaya, has taken a new turn. Vipin Raghuvanshi, the brother of the deceased Indore businessman, is now calling for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe. He claims a recently surfaced phone conversation casts suspicion on Sonam Raghuvanshi’s entire family, alleging their involvement in the brutal killing. Police investigations indicate that Sonam orchestrated Raja’s murder with her lover, Raj Kushwaha, and three hired killers. Raja’s body was discovered in a ravine in Sohra on June 2nd. Vipin has criticized the Meghalaya police for their handling of the investigation, particularly the ease with which several co-accused have been granted bail. He also mentioned an unverified call recording purportedly showing Sonam communicating with her family from jail, a claim her family denies. Vipin accuses Sonam’s family of involvement in securing her bail. Recently, the East Khasi Hills Court in Meghalaya granted bail to Silom James, who was accused of tampering with evidence and sheltering Sonam and Raj. Two other accused, Lokendra Singh Tomar and Balbir Ahirwa, were also previously granted bail. Sonam, Raj Kushwaha, and the three alleged contract killers remain in custody.

In the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, the police have stated that Sonam Raghuvanshi and her accomplice have confessed to their involvement in the crime. Despite the victim’s family requesting a narco test, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has declined, citing sufficient existing evidence. Superintendent of Police (East Khasi Hills) Vivek Syiem confirmed the decision, explaining that narco-analysis results are inadmissible in court. The police emphasized that the accused have already admitted guilt and that the crime scene has been reconstructed, providing ample evidence. The motive behind the murder was not primarily financial; the individuals sought to eliminate the victim due to his interference with their relationship and business plans. The police are now investigating Lokendra Tomar, the owner of an infrastructure company and a flat in Indore where Sonam resided before her arrest. Authorities are examining the removal of a bag from the flat, which reportedly contained a pistol, a mobile phone, jewelry, and cash, suspecting an attempt to conceal evidence. Two individuals face accusations of evidence tampering. The police are also working to recover the jewelry taken from Meghalaya. Silome James, Balveer, and Lokendra Tomar are expected to appear in a Shillong court, with James and Balveer slated for further questioning.

Shillong police investigating the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case have seized a CCTV DVR from the Indore residence of Shilom James. James, a property dealer, was present during the seizure on Monday evening. He had previously been arrested on June 21st for allegedly assisting in concealing evidence related to the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. Authorities believe the DVR holds crucial evidence that will aid the ongoing investigation. James is suspected of helping Sonam, a key suspect, hide items including jewelry, a laptop, and potentially a weapon. Another suspect, Lokendra Tomar, has been presented before the Gwalior District court. Additionally, police detained Balvir Ahirwar, a watchman and carpenter who worked at a flat where Sonam stayed after the incident, for questioning.

A district and sessions court in Shillong, Meghalaya, has ordered Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raj Kushwaha to serve 13 days of judicial custody in connection with the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. The Superintendent of Police (SP) of East Khasi Hills district confirmed the judicial remand. The Assistant Public Prosecutor stated that the police did not request custody, leading the court to grant the 13-day judicial custody requested by the Investigating Officer. Previously, the court had remanded the other accused—Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Anand—to 14-day judicial custody. The arrests followed the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, who was on his honeymoon in Meghalaya. His body was discovered near Sohra (Cherrapunji) on June 2. The couple, residents of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, had gone missing during their honeymoon. As part of the investigation, the police reconstructed the crime scene in Sohra with the accused present. The SP reported that the crime scene reconstruction provided a clear picture of events. The investigation revealed that a machete used in the murder is still missing. The crime scene reconstruction included re-enacting the sequence of events, including the positions of the accused and the victim. The police have determined that Sonam Raghuvanshi and Vishal damaged Raja Raghuvanshi’s phone after the murder, and the circumstances surrounding their departure from the scene. The victim was struck with a weapon by Vishal, and the body was then thrown down the gorge by the accused.

In the ongoing investigation into the death of Raja Raghuwanshi, his father, Ashok Raghuwanshi, has raised serious concerns about Raj’s involvement. Ashok stated that Raj brought the kafan (shroud) for Raja and was present during the funeral. He also alleged that Raj was in constant communication with Sonam Raghuvanshi throughout the events leading up to and following Raja’s death.

Ashok recalled, “He came with the kafan. I saw him standing behind me with a white cloth. At that time, I didn’t know Raja had been killed on someone’s instructions.” He further added that Raj acted innocent while secretly relaying information to Sonam.

Raja’s mother has also expressed her grief and suspicion, pointing to Raj’s presence and actions. She stated, “I saw in the video that it was Raj. The same hand he used to write a conspiracy against my son was now holding the white shawl for his last rites.” She questioned how he could be involved in her son’s death.

The family has also questioned Sonam’s role, mentioning the kundali (astrological) match arranged before the wedding. Raja’s mother said that the kundali, matched by astrologer N.K. Pandey, was later found in the temple area during house cleaning. The family has attempted to contact the astrologer to understand why he did not alert them of any issues.

Raja and Sonam had gone to Meghalaya for their honeymoon shortly after their wedding. After they went missing, Raja’s body was found in a highly decomposed state. Sonam fled the state and travelled through multiple states before reaching Indore. The grieving parents continue to seek answers about the truth behind their son’s tragic death.

In the ongoing investigation into the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, a local astrologer associated with the family has made shocking claims based on astrological analysis. Pandit Ajay Dubey of Indore, after examining the horoscopes of Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi, has indicated a complex conspiracy behind the murder. Dubey stated that the horoscopes revealed the presence of significant astrological influences, including Shani’s Sade Sati and Mangaldasha in Sonam’s chart, which are often associated with hardship and conflict. He also found that Raja’s chart indicated ‘wife-murder yoga,’ potentially suggesting a threat to his life. Furthermore, the astrologer claimed that the horoscopes point to the involvement of multiple individuals, including two women, in the crime. He suggested there could be as many as ten people involved, with several suspects still at large, and has even hinted at a same-sex relationship involving Sonam.

An audio recording obtained by News24 sheds new light on the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, revealing two new suspects. The recording captures an eyewitness’s phone conversation with Vipin Raghuvanshi, Raja’s brother. The eyewitness stated that, beyond Raj Kushwaha, two other individuals aided in transporting Sonam from Varanasi to Ghazipur. The eyewitness reported seeing Sonam calmly drinking mango juice at the Varanasi bus stand. She was accompanied by two boys approximately two hours before her surrender in Ghazipur. These two individuals allegedly helped Sonam board a bus from Varanasi to Gorakhpur around 11:30 pm. A resident of Saidpur in Ghazipur subsequently contacted Vipin Raghuvanshi to inform him about Sonam’s whereabouts. Earlier reports from Uttar Pradesh police confirmed the arrest of 24-year-old Sonam, who was found near a dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur main road. Following her apprehension, she received initial medical treatment at Sadar Hospital and was then transferred to Sakhi One Stop Centre, according to ADG Law and Order, Uttar Pradesh, Amitabh Yash. Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife, Sonam, residents of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, went missing during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. Raja’s body was later discovered in a gorge near Cherrapunji on June 2. They were married on May 11 and began their honeymoon on May 20. The couple was last seen on May 23, and their phones were switched off later that day.

Investigations into the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case continue, revealing chilling details of the attempts to eliminate Raja Raghuvanshi. Interrogation of the accused, including Sonam Raghuvanshi, unveiled a series of failed plots preceding Raja’s death. The initial plan involved making Sonam’s disappearance appear accidental, followed by a gruesome scheme to fake her death using another woman’s body. These plans were devised before the wedding. The first attempt to murder Raja was planned in Guwahati but was thwarted. Subsequent attempts also failed, ultimately leading to the successful murder at Weisawdong Falls in Meghalaya.
