  • Urban homeless to be surveyed during Corona period, shelter site capacity will increase

    The urban body will conduct a re-survey to get the actual status of the urban homeless. The shelter site will be arranged after taking information of the homeless people in the Corona period. Based on the survey, a proposal will be prepared for determining the capacity of the shelter site.

    A meeting of the state level shelter site monitoring committee constituted under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana was held in the presence of the committee chairman Suvish Kumar Mishra. In the meeting, he has directed that the survey report be prepared.

    Members of the committee included Gautam Bandopadhyay, Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Saurabh Kumar, Urban Development Agency Chief Executive Officer Saumil Ranjan Choubey, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Rajendra Kumar Doher, Project Officer Mithlesh Awasthi.

    Chhattisgarh Urban Homeless Policy-2020 was discussed in the sixth meeting of the Monitoring Committee held in the hall of Raipur Smart City Limited. In the fifth meeting, detailed information was given to the committee by the action taken in compliance with the instructions given by the committee.

    Under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana, this committee constituted under the Urban Livelihood Mission was informed that 51 shelters have been approved in the state, out of which 24 are currently operational. Construction of 15 shelter sites is in final stages.

  • Applications are invited from future parents for temporary protection of children in need of care and protection

    According to a release issued from the Office of the Collector (District Child Protection Unit), Juvenile Justice of the Children (Child Protection Institutions) under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, registered under Section 41 of the Juvenile Justice (Protection of Child) As per the provisions of Section 44 of the Maintenance and Protection) Act 2015 and Model Guide Line for Foster Care 2016, applications have been invited from Indian couples in foster care for temporary protection.
    It will be the responsibility of the foster care family to provide the child with proper food, clothing, shelter, education, higher education, care and protection, all kinds of medical, treatment, professional training according to age and interest, to meet the child’s developmental needs. Protect from exploitation, abuse, harm, neglect and respect the privacy of the child and his biological family. With this, it will be mandatory to follow all the obligations and conditions mentioned in the Foster Care Guide 2016 and the directions of the Child Welfare Committee and District Child Protection Unit.
    Indian couples who want to temporarily protect children in need of care and protection can contact the office of District Child Protection Unit, Women and Child Development Department, Kondagaon and apply in the prescribed form. After the application, in the light of the said act and guide line, on the basis of the Home Study Report and the recommendation of the Sponsorship and Foster Care Approval Committee, the child welfare committee of the district may be given to foster care for the child and the concerned couple.

  • Inauguration of 50-bed shelter in District Hospital Balrampur

    Under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – the newly constructed 50-bed shelter site by the National Urban Livelihood Mission is now ready for the shelterless. The shelter site was launched and launched by Sarguja Development Authority Vice-President and Ramanujganj MLA Shri Brihaspat Singh, Collector Shri Shyam Dhawade, Superintendent of Police Shri Ramkrishna Sahu, Municipal Corporation of Balrampur, Shri Gobindram and Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Mrs. Tulika Prajapati. The in-charge of the shelter site told the MLA that such people in the shelter site who are poor, shelterless and destitute will be kept here and they will be looked after. Also, families of hospitalized patients who do not have a stay arrangement will also be provided shelter. Arrangement of stay in shelter place for destitute and poor will be completely free and will be conducted by the women of the group. MLA Shri Brihaspat Singh expressed happiness over the arrangement of the shelter site and said that this shelter place is going to remove concerns for the family of the patient. The family always thinks that where will they stop on going to the hospital, but now their problem is gone. He instructed the in-charge of the shelter site to operate in a similar manner by maintaining order. During this period, corporators of Municipal Balrampur, MLA representative Shri Vinod Tiwari, officers and staff of the district hospital were present along with the general public.
    Deputy Chairman of Sarguja Development Authority and Ramanujganj MLA Mr. Vrhaspat Singh, Collector Mr. Shyam Dhawade, Superintendent of Police Mr. Ramakrishna Sahu, President of Municipal Balrampur Mr. Gobindram and Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Mrs. Tulika Prajapati for operation of eye diseases in the District Hospital Inaugurated the newly constructed Operation Theater. MLA Mr. Brihaspat Singh duly launched the I OT by offering prayers and cutting lace. Previously, patients had to move to Ambikapur or big cities for eye-related diseases and cataract operation, but the administration has given a big gift to the residents by constructing IOT from District Mineral Trust Fund. Specialist doctors cum eye surgeons have also been posted in the district, who are regularly examining and treating eye-related diseases in OPD, and now eye operation is also possible in the district hospital. A successful operation of 15 patients was done with the inauguration of IOT by a team of doctors.
