  • Sonakshi Sinha’s brother Luv Ranjan breaks silence on not attending sister’s wedding with Zaheer Iqbal | People News

New Delhi: Sonakshi Sinha’s brothers Luv and Kush Sinha went missing from her wedding. There have been strong speculations that the Sinha family wasn’t happy with her wedding decision with Zaheer Iqbal. Shatrughan Sinha reacted in his iconic dialogue ‘Khamosh’ to all these rumours, but there has still been lots of gossip around as her brothers went missing from the wedding. It was noticed that the Heeramandi actress’s brothers skipped the wedding and went even present for the special ritual and Bollywood actor Saqib Saleem fulfilled the brother’s duties. Luv Sinha, who was earlier asked about the wedding, chose not to comment and said he has no involvement in it. “I’m out of Mumbai at the moment, and if it’s regarding the news published, I have no comment or involvement in the matter”.

A close source to HT confirmed, “Sonakshi’s parents attended the wedding, and were naturally elated about the day. However, her brothers didn’t come to the wedding as well as the reception. The photographers didn’t spot the two entering the venue, till the very end. And everyone found it to be really weird”

In his latest interaction when contacted the actor about his miss from the wedding, he said, “Please give it a day or two. I’ll respond to your question then if I feel I can. Thank you for asking”. Luv told this to HT.

Sonakshi Sinha got married to Bollywood actor Zaheer Iqbal on June 23 and it was one helluva party hosted by the newlywed. The newlywed even faced heavy criticism for interfaith marriage, and to avoid any such negativity in their married life, both Sonakshi and Zaheer disabled their comments section on the pictures of their wedding that they shared on social media.

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal got hitched after being in a relationship for 7 years and it was reported before her wedding, the couple stayed in a live-in for one year at their new pad in Worli, Mumbai.

  • TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha is all praises for Kangana Ranaut; calls her a self-made woman – The Economic Times Video

Patna, Bihar: On actor and BJP candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha seat Kangana Ranaut, TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha says, “…I respect Kangana Ranaut because she is self-made; whatever she has achieved as of now she has done it on her own…She is new to politics…”

  • Rahul Gandhi’s magic spell will work in the next elections: TMC’s Shatrughan Sinha

    By PTI

KOLKATA: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has proved his leadership abilities through the Bharat Jodo Yatra, TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha said.

In an interview to PTI, Sinha said Gandhi’s 3,570-km-long march that began in Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu will help the Congress double its tally in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The Congress won 52 seats in 2019 elections.

“Bharat Jodo Yatra is getting a very good response. Rahul Gandhi’s charisma has started working, and he is getting an excellent response from the people. I feel that Gandhi’s yatra will help double the tally of the Congress in Parliament in the next Lok Sabha polls,” he said.

“This is a ‘yatra’ in a true sense as Gandhi is walking unlike ‘Rath yatras’ by BJP leaders. Lakhs of people are coming out in his support. He has proved his leadership qualities. People have accepted him as a leader. And, those who made fun of him as ‘Pappu’ and didn’t take him seriously have been proved wrong,” Sinha added.

The actor-turned-politician won the Asansol Lok Sabha seat on Trinamool Congress ticket in a bypoll in April this year.

Before fighting the election on a TMC ticket, he had switched over to the Congress from the BJP in 2019.

“BJP leaders are making fun of Gandhi, but let them also conduct a similar yatra on foot if they have the fire in their belly. The magic spell of Rahul Gandhi will work in the next elections, I feel and I want it to happen,” Sinha said.

Speaking on the Gujarat elections, the TMC leader said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would either emerge as the “kingmaker or the king” himself.

“In Gujarat, Kejriwal will either emerge as the king or the kingmaker. There is a churning in the saffron camp in Gujarat. The BJP cannot milk Hindutva or the Ram Mandir issue every time. Kejriwal has played a masterstroke through his demand of photos of Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesh on currency notes,” he said.

Last week, Kejriwal appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to print images of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi on currency notes for the progress of the country.

“Kejriwal has paid the BJP back with the same coin. The BJP used to act as if they were the master of the ‘Hindutva school of politics’ but Kejriwal is now the headmaster of that school. The BJP can neither swallow it nor discard it,” Sinha said.

Claiming that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be a “game-changer” in the 2024 Lok Sabha election, Sinha hoped that the relation between the TMC and the Congress would improve.

“There is no last word in politics. Today, the relations are not good doesn’t mean it won’t improve tomorrow. I personally feel that if major opposition parties come together, the political situation of the country will be completely different,” he said.

On the face of the opposition for the 2024 elections, Sinha said that the people of the country will choose the right leader.

“This question that who will be next (prime minister) comes up in every election. Once you reach the top politically, it will be decided based on numbers and the mandate. The country never stops, governments keep changing, and new leadership comes up,” he said.

Sinha, a minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s NDA government, asserted that the anti-BJP parties are gaining momentum in the states — whether it is Bihar, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu or Karnataka.

Sinha also targetted the BJP for the “missing” posters that surfaced in Asansol, his constituency, last week.

“Those who are yet to digest the defeat in the bypoll are behind this. I was in my constituency during Durga Puja, and was here till last week. I am spending Chhaath here in Asansol. I have been regularly visiting Asansol and the people of my constituency will vouch for it,” he said.

  • ‘Nitish now in front row of Opposition camp along with Mamata’: Shatrughan Sinha

    By PTI

PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stands in the “front row” of the opposition camp along with Mamata Banerjee and others to end the “Modi raj” in the country in the 2024 general election, former BJP leader and now Trinamool Congress MP Shatrughan Sinha said on Wednesday.

Sinha said the JD(U) leader has given the BJP a taste of its own medicine after it dislodged governments of opposition parties in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

On who among Kumar and Banerjee could emerge as the opposition face against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the next Lok Sabha poll, the actor-politician told PTI that the people of the country and leaders of the opposition parties would decide it at an “appropriate” time.

Sinha, who had served as a cabinet minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, has become a Lok Sabha member from Asansol in West Bengal recently from Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (TMC).

Popularly called “Bihari Babu”, the actor-politician bid goodbye to the BJP after being denied a ticket from his native Patna Sahib seat in the 2019 general election.

Before parting ways with the saffron party, Sinha had on several occasions targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home minister Amit Shah using the barb “one man party and two men army” against them.

After leaving the BJP, Sinha had unsuccessfully contested from the Patna Sahib constituency on a Congress ticket in 2019.

After lying low in the Congress, he switched over to Trinamool Congress and Banerjee chose him for the by-election in the Asansol Lok Sabha seat vacated by Babul Supriyo.

“Better late than never, Nitish Kumar has given the BJP a taste of its own medicine that it administered in Madhya Pradesh and now in Maharashtra using its money power,” Sinha alleged.

He was in his native place Patna on the day Kumar took oath as chief minister of Bihar for the eighth time along with deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav.

“Due to his bold decision, Kumar today stands in the front row in the opposition camp along with Banerjee and others to lead the downfall of ‘Modi raj’ in the next Parliamentary election,” he said.

Opposition parties have claimed the JD(U) breaking ranks with the BJP and joining hands with the RJD, Congress and others is an indication of the change in Indian politics, asserting that their vision to fight the saffron party and its “politics of intimidation” has gained momentum.

Kumar, who has dumped the BJP for the second time after severing ties in 2013 and reconciling in 2017, is being talked about in the political circles as a probable opposition face against Modi in 2024 but many still view the JD(U) leader with suspicion citing his numerous ‘U-turns’.

Also several other opposition leaders like Mamata Banerjee, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi have hinted at prime ministerial ambitions.

“The people of the country and the leaders of the opposition parties would decide who would be the face against Modi in the 2024 general election,” Sinha, who had earlier served as Lok Sabha member from Patna Sahib twice and also as Rajya Sabha MP on two occasions from the saffron party, said.

The newly elected TMC MP from Asansol praised Banerjee and reiterated she would be a “game changer” in the next general election.

Talking about BJP forming its governments in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra after defection in Congress and Shiv Sena respectively, Sinha said, “They (the BJP) had been indulging in the toppling game using money power”.

“After khela (game) in West Bengal, the BJP has been cut to size following khela in Bihar,” he said using the famous punchline of the TMC during the West Bengal assembly polls in 2021.

Sinha had served in the Vajpayee cabinet along with both Nitish Kumar and Mamata Banerjee and had on several occasions highlighted his cordial relationship with both of them.

The septuagenarian Parliamentarian had praised West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee for fighting the BJP and defeating it comprehensively in the assembly polls in the eastern state in 2021.

  • TMC candidates Shatrughan Sinha, Babul Supriyo file nominations for by-polls in Bengal

    By PTI

KOLKATA: Trinamool Congress candidates Shatrughan Sinha and Babul Supriyo on Monday filed their nominations for by-polls to a Lok Sabha and an assembly seat to be held on April 12 in West Bengal.

Sinha has been fielded for by-election to the Asansol Lok Sabha constituency, while Supriyo was nominated for the Ballygunge Assembly seat.

Speaking to reporters after filing his nomination at Alipore Survey Building, Supriyo said, “I am thankful to ‘Didi’ (TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee) for giving me this opportunity to contest from the presitigious Ballygunge constituency. I am really honoured and accept the challenge.”

The bypoll to Asansol was necessitated as Supriyo resigned as the BJP MP after joining the TMC in September last year. The Ballygunge Assembly seat is going for polls as incumbent MLA and state minister Subrata Mukherjee died in November 2021.

Sinha, a former BJP leader, filed his nomination at the office of the district magistrate of Paschim Bardhaman.

The actor-turned-politician had Sunday taken a jibe at the BJP for labelling him as an outsider, wondering what the saffron party makes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi contesting from Varanasi. “If for national figures like the PM, contesting the Lok Sabha polls from anywhere is accepted, then the same holds true for me as well,” he had said.

By-polls to the Asansol Lok Sabha constituency and the Ballygunje assembly seat will be held on April 12, and votes will be counted on April 16.

  • Asansol bypoll: Mamata Banerjee has set example of political equality, says Shatrughan Sinha

    Express News Service

NEW DELHI: Veteran Bollywood actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha, who is fondly called in his native state Bihar as” Bihari Babu”, said that Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has set an example of political equality by giving a chance to all,who deserve to serve the people in politics as “seva” instead of being indulged in “self-promotion”.

Sinha, elated at being made the TMC candidate for Lok Sabha bypoll from Asansol, said that the people of Asansol LS constituency would never be disappointed after electing him for the Lok Sabha. “I shall come true to the expectation of Mamata Banerjeeji and the people of Asansol,” he said, adding that the country has got a dynamic, dashing and people loving leader.

“She is blessed with a very calibre and unmatched in principled politics”, Sinha said, exuding confidence to get overwhelming electoral blessings from the people of Asansol. He said, “Voice of people will not get ‘Khamosh’ and I shall continue being the voice of people in the Parliament as I had always been since my political career.”

Sinha had also been minister in the union government and represented Patna Sahib LS seat from 2009 and 2014 on the BJP ticket.Prior to this,he had also been memeber of Rajya Sabha from 1996-2002 and 2002-2008. He was in the union cabinet during the government of atal Bihari Vajpayee the minister of health and family welfare.

The bypoll in the Asansol LS constituency is scheduled to be held on April 12 this year. The bypoll has been necessitated after Babul Supriyo,2-time BJP MP resigned recently and joined the TMC on September 18.

  • Congress leader Shatrughan Sinha likely to join Trinamool, say sources

    By PTI
PATNA/KOLKATA: Senior Congress leader Shatrughan Sinha is likely to crossover to Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress soon, sources close to him said on Sunday.

Though through a tweet in Hindi with pro-Narendra Modi flavour recently, Sinha had triggered guesswork that he might stage a “Ghar Wapsi” to the BJP, the sources said he is more inclined towards the TMC, which recently humbled the saffron party and Banerjee emerged as a potent rival of Prime Minister Modi in 2024 general election.

When asked by PTI about his chance of joining the TMC, Sinha refused to make a direct comment, but said, “Politics is an art of possibility.”

Sources close to him, however, did not deny the chance.

A section of the TMC leaders also said in Kolkata that talks are in an advanced stage in this regard.

The TMC leaders said the actor-politician always had a good relation with Banerjee.

Sources said there is a chance of Sinha switching over to the TMC on its July 21 Martyrs’ day celebration function.

Sinha, popularly known as “Bihari Babu”, made lavish praise on Mamata Banerjee, calling her “real Royal Bengal tiger” and a “tried and tested leader who trounced propaganda and ‘dhanshakti’ (money power) in the just-concluded Bengal polls”.

Sinha’s former colleague in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee ministry, Yashwant Sinha, is now national vice-president of the TMC.

Sinha, the two-term BJP MP from Patna Sahib, had joined the Congress and entered into the fray from the same constituency in the 2019 polls but lost to former union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.

Though a big name in politics, Sinha, has not been given any big responsibility by the Congress.

Mamata Banerjee who has emerged as a strong rival to Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls has already made it clear that her party will have a larger role outside West Bengal and in that scheme of things, people like Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha could be important for the party.

Two Rajya Sabha seats are presently vacant from the TMC after former union minister Dinesh Trivedi quit and joined the BJP before the Bengal polls and Trinamool Congress MP Manas Bhuniaya contested the just-concluded state polls and is now a minister in Banerjee’s third successive ministry.

Indications are that Shatrughan Sinha might be sent to the Upper House of Parliament from one of the two seats of the TMC.

Sinha, who had walked out of the BJP after launching a tirade against Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, saying the saffron party has become “one man party and two men army”, had recently posted a tweet saying apart from three variants of COVID, there is a fourth variant of people being “dukhi” (unhappy) with Modi without any reason.

This was seen in the political circles as his efforts to reach out to his parent party to make a homecoming.

But, Sinha had himself described the issue as “Sunday humour” for entertainment.

A popular Bollywood hero of yesteryears, Sinha had joined the BJP in the early ’80s when it was a party of two MPs and served as its star campaigner for a long time during the Atal-Advani era.

He, however, fell out with the present saffron party leadership of Modi-Shah and finally left it and joined the Congress before the last general election.

Sinha had joined Banerjee’s mega anti-BJP conclave at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata before the 2019 Parliamentary polls when he was still an MP from the BJP.

  • Shatrughan Sinha calls pro-Modi tweet ‘humour’; not leaving Congress

    By PTI
PATNA: With his recent pro-Modi tweet seen as an attempt of “ghar wapsi” in the BJP, actor and Congress leader Shatrughan Sinha on Tuesday dismissed the speculations, saying he made the comments as a “humour” and there is no desire to change sides.

Sinha had said in his tweet in Hindi on Sunday that apart from three kinds of COVID variants, there was a fourth type of variant “of people being ‘dukhi’ (unhappy) with Modi without any reason”.

    — Shatrughan Sinha (@ShatruganSinha) June 27, 2021

“It was a Sunday humour for entertainment. I make some tweets for fun every Sunday and no political meaning should be derived from them.

“Neither do I have any feeling to leave Congress and rejoin BJP nor a wish in this regard,” the actor-politician told PTI over the phone from Mumbai.

Sinha, who served as a union minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, had left the BJP and joined the Congress on the eve of 2019 Lok Sabha polls and had unsuccessfully contested from his native Patna Sahib constituency on a Congress ticket.

Sinha popularly known as “Bihari Babu”, had twice won with a handsome margin from the seat on a BJP ticket in 2009 as well as 2014.

However, he lost with a big margin to Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad from the constituency in 2019.

Before walking out of the saffron party, Sinha had made several veiled remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home minister Amit Shah.

He used to say that BJP has become “one-man party and two men army” without naming anybody.

With the Congress party losing elections after elections and Sinha himself not seen in any significant role in the grand old party, his comment on Modi is being viewed in political circles as an effort of reaching out to his old party.

The actor-turned-politician still says that he has been baptised in politics in the BJP and has many “good friends” in the saffron party.

“I had left the BJP disagreeing with the leadership on certain issues like demonetisation and rollout of complicated GST and still stand by it,” he said.

About the future of the Congress party, he said “we should not write off the grand old party on the basis of having lesser numbers of MPs in the last two Parliamentary elections. Congress can bounce back to power. One should not forget that BJP was also a party of two MPs at one time.”

  • Editorial :- Bhaajapa ke Dhoni, Gambheer, Vishvaas Bhee Honge Staar Prachaarak: Congress ke Saath Kaun?

It is such a report that Dhoni and Gambhir, the cricket great and Kumar Vishwas, will be the BJP’s star campaigners in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as well as the candidates. Now the question arises that who will be with the Congress?

BJP chief Amit Shah met Indian captain MS Dhoni as part of a contact campaign to support the BJP. There is a possibility that they may be the candidate of Lok Sabha from BJP in Jharkhand. In such a situation, Congress can take the support of Yashwant Sinha.

BJP can replace Leopardi with Gautam Gambhir from New Delhi constituency, in which BJP leadership is not happy with his work as an existing Lok Sabha member. In his tenure he has not seen significant activism.

A BJP leader said that the report from Meenakshi Lekhi about the land is not good. People of their constituency are not happy with their work and the party leadership has decided that they will not be repeated this time as the New Delhi candidate. Gautam Gambhir, will be the most likely candidate. They have wide acceptance and are known for their social work. They are residents of the same area in Delhi. ”

Now the question arises that the Congress is against them or what choice do you have with the party? It is possible that in such a situation, Shatrughan Sinha can be brought to the ground. Although it is also said that he can be a candidate for opposition against PM Modi from Varanasi.

“There is wide acceptability, respect and reliability across the country for both Gambhir and Dhoni, and they are considered as leaders of all sections of the society. They are not only leaders of their respective states but also leaders of the country. Dhoni is currently the captain of the Chennai Super Kings team in the IPL (Indian Premier League) and thus has his reach and support in the southern parts of India. ÓO

Recently we had seen how serious Gautam Gambhir was when when some anti-national forces tried to play against the country’s integrity against the soldiers. If BJP uses their popularity for canvasing across the country then it will not be surprising now.

Even MS Dhoni has been attracted to the Indian Army and he is also a para-commando. The entire nation knows that BJP holds complete loyalty to the Indian Army, while the opposition, especially the Congress, has been showing disrespect in respect to the Indian Army and the Army Chief. The surgical sticker has also been tested.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP is trying to include Dhoni and Gambhir in the form of their star campaigners to campaign for the party all over the country.

Another senior BJP leader said that one of the founding members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Kumar Vishwas – is also in touch with the party leadership at the center and can get a ticket to contest Lok Sabha elections from Ghaziabad. Uttar Pradesh. Ghaziabad seat is currently the Minister of State for External Affairs (retired) VK Singh, who has expressed the desire to contest from any other Lok Sabha constituency, according to party sources.

In such a situation, the question is still present in the hands of the Congress against them. The Congress seems to be forced to re-run the UP Congress president in the last Lok Sabha elections, defeating the contestant, Raj Babbar.

Now it will depend on the public that the BJP’s Dhoni will express his belief with serious and confident or against the BJP’s enemy Sinha.
