  • Deadpool 3 to have an “angrier” version of Wolverine: Hugh Jackman confirms

    By Express News Service

We had previously reported that Hugh Jackman will once again be donning the role of Wolverine in the upcoming Ryan Reynolds-starrer Deadpool 3.

In a recent interaction, The Greatest Showman actor confirmed that Wolverine will be “angrier, grumpy” in the upcoming film.

Speaking to Associated Press about playing Wolverine once again after 2017’s Logan, Jackman said, “It’s a lot of fun. It’s been five years and I really never thought I’d come back. And I’m really, really excited to come back.

I can tell you I’m going to have the time of my life. I can tell you I’ve started back at the gym, and I’m eating a lot, and I feel bad for the cast of The Music Man with the amount of protein shakes I’m having. I do know a little bit about the script, but I’m not going to tell you.”

When asked about how different Wolverine would be in the new film, the actor said, “There’s no choice. He’s definitely angrier, grumpy, and he’s gonna take a lot of free shots at Ryan Reynolds, let me tell you. Physically, that is.”

Shawn Levy, who had previously worked with Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project, is directing Deadpool 3 with Reese and Wernick returning to write the screenplay.

Deadpool would apparently be integrated with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) under Disney and the upcoming film will most likely be MCU’s first R Rated film.

The film will release on November 8, 2024, making it the first film of the MCU’s Phase Six slate.

LOS ANGELES: “Deadpool” actor Ryan Reynolds on Wednesday announced Hollywood star Hugh Jackman’s return as fan-favourite Wolverine in the third film in the franchise.

In a video uploaded on his social media platforms, Reynolds revealed that the “Deadpool 3” will hit the theatres in 2024.

“Hey everyone, we’re extremely sad to have missed D23, but we’ve been working very hard on the next ‘Deadpool’ film for a good long while now,” Reynolds says in the video referring to the Disney D23 Expo that happened earlier this month.

“I’ve had to really search my soul on this one. His first appearance in the MCU obviously needs to feel special. We need to stay true to the character, find new depth, motivation, meaning. Every ‘Deadpool’ needs to stand out and stand apart,” he adds.

Reynolds says they “did have one idea” to make the film different from the previous two parts as he asks Jackman, who is walking in the background, “Hey, Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time? Yeah, sure, Ryan,” Jackman replies.

The video ends with Deadpool logo getting sliced up by Wolverine’s claws.

“Deadpool 3” will be directed by Shawn Levy, who recently collaborated with Reynolds on ‘Free Guy’ and ‘The Adam Project’.

This film marks the anti-hero’s entry in Marvel Cinematic Universe, result of 20th Century Fox’s merger with Disney.

Jackman, who played Wolverine on screen for 17 years, bid adieu to the character with the 2016 movie ‘Logan’, directed by James Mangold. Wolverine dies at the end of the film.

In an Instagram post, the 35-year-old actor also blasted the paparazzi for queuing up outside her home to get pictures of her.

“Here are photos of me pregnant in real life so the 11 guys waiting outside my home for a sighting will leave me alone. You freak me and my kids out,” Lively wrote along with photos of her with her friends and family, where she is showing her baby bump.

The photos included one with her friend Taylor Swift and in another, she is embracing her older sister, Robyn Lively.

Lively thanked the people who abide by the “No Kids Policy” of celebrities, which urges media outlets to stop buying photos from paparazzi of stars’ kids.

“Thanks to everyone else for all the love and respect and for continuing to unfollow accounts and publications who share photos of children. You have all the power against them. And thank you to the media who have a ‘No Kids Policy. You all make all the difference. Much love!” she concluded.

Lively revealed her pregnancy on Thursday after she appeared at the 10th Annual Forbes Power Women’s Summit on Thursday. The actor posed for the shutterbugs in a sequined long-sleeved mini dress flaunting her baby bump.

Lively and Reynolds, 45, are already parents to daughters James, seven, Inez, five, and Betty, two. They have been together since 2010 when they met and starred together in the Warner Bros/DC superhero film “Green Lantern”. The couple tied the knot in 2012.
