Residents of Supaul district in Bihar have a golden opportunity knocking at their doors. The electricity department announces a Solar Mela on April 20 at the Degree College Chowk office complex, kicking off at 10 AM. Designed to combat skyrocketing electricity tariffs, this event will spotlight solar energy as a viable, cost-effective alternative.

Central to the proceedings is the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, enabling households to install rooftop solar panels with hefty government subsidies. What was once a luxury is now accessible, promising significant reductions in power bills and even surplus energy credits.

A team of solar specialists will offer personalized consultations. Expect in-depth discussions on system pricing, optimal sizing for your roof, seamless installation, upkeep routines, and long-term financial benefits. They’ll also demystify subsidy eligibility, application procedures, and how to maximize returns.

The real highlight? On-the-spot registrations for the scheme. Staff will assist with document checks—think Aadhaar-linked mobile, recent bills, property proofs, and bank statements—ensuring a hassle-free process.

Department head Alok Kumar Ranjan emphasized the event’s dual focus: ‘We’re not only promoting savings but also fostering clean energy adoption.’ This fair could mark a pivotal shift for Supaul, blending economic relief with eco-friendly practices. Don’t miss out—turn your home into a power generator tomorrow.

India’s bold stride into solar energy comes with the PM Surya Ghar scheme, aiming to equip one crore homes with rooftop solar panels and deliver 300 free electricity units monthly. Announced by the central and Uttar Pradesh governments, it’s a game-changer for households weary of rising power tariffs.

In Gautam Buddh Nagar, UP NEDA’s project officer Lavesh Kumar Sisodia detailed the seamless rollout managed from Lucknow’s Vibhuti Khand office. Beyond bill savings, participants can monetize excess generation by feeding it into the grid, creating a new revenue stream for families.

Subsidies are a major draw: Rs 78,000 maximum for 3 kW plants, disbursed directly post-verification. The online application is user-friendly—register, secure discom nod, install, and upload proofs for instant subsidy credit. Collateral-free loans at 7% interest remove financial barriers.

Who qualifies? Citizens with viable roofs, active connections, and no previous solar aid. Gather Aadhaar, bills, passbook, phone, and email to apply. Local support is available at Development Bhavan, Surajpur.

Critics of traditional energy laud this as a transparent, tech-driven model promoting self-sufficiency. With Uttar Pradesh leading, the initiative could slash carbon emissions and boost rural economies, setting a template for India’s net-zero ambitions.

Bihar’s Samastipur district is lighting up with solar power as the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana gains massive traction. Over 500 households have availed subsidies, with 550 installations completed…

Bihar’s Samastipur district is lighting up with solar power as the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana gains massive traction. Over 500 households have availed subsidies, with 550 installations completed amid a flood of 4,000 applications.

Executive Engineer Anand Kumar highlighted the scheme’s appeal during a vibrant awareness fair at Patel Maidan. ‘Prime Minister Modi’s vision is making free electricity a reality,’ he said. Subsidies cover up to 3 kW systems—Rs 30,000 for 1 kW, Rs 60,000 for 2 kW, and Rs 78,000 for the largest option—directly reducing installation costs.

The fair buzzed with activity as bank officials explained loan facilities. Standing out were 15 consumers whose bills have dropped to zero, publicly recognized for their pioneering spirit. This milestone underscores the scheme’s immediate impact on household finances.

To qualify, one needs Indian citizenship, a rooftop fit for panels, an active power connection, and no previous solar aid. Kumar noted that 511 subsidies have been approved from 3,970 submissions, signaling strong community buy-in.

This program aligns with national efforts to boost solar adoption, cutting reliance on traditional grids and fossil fuels. Samastipur’s rapid progress sets a benchmark, urging other districts to follow suit. As more families go solar, expect wider ripples in energy independence and environmental conservation across Bihar.
