  • Have to be in Parliament to fight my case: Robert Vadra

    By IANS
NEW DELHI: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s husband Robert Vadra has opened up on his desire to enter politics and contest elections after being subjected to grilling by the Income tax department.

Vadra alleged that he was subjected to such treatment because he is related to a prominent political family.

Speaking to IANS in New Delhi on Thursday at his Sukhdev Vihar office, Vadra said, “I am related to a family that has for generations served the people of this country and have even been martyred for the country. I have seen, learnt, campaigned, spent time in different parts of the country and I suppose to fight this kind of dynamic I have to be in Parliament.”

He said “Obviously now I do feel I have fought this outside for far too long. I have explained myself, cleared myself but this is constant that they trouble me now as I am not in politics. I always kept away from politics because I have my set beliefs.”

Vadra said he will take the decision at an appropriate time. “When I see a place where people will vote me to represent them and I can make a difference for people in that area and if my family approves of it,” he said.

He said that the entire family supports him specially Priyanka on his decisions.

“Priyanka is always supportive. I am talking about the entire family and when they approve of it, I can be in politics and fight my issues in political arena.”

Vadra has campaigned in elections in Raebareli and Amethi and hoardings came up in Moradabad in his support as he claimed he has spent his childhood in that place and people want him to be there.

He insisted that he is fighting the political battle without being in politics and he was used each time as a “punching bag” whenever the government is in a bind.

While he rejects the accusation of ‘benami’ property. “These are just rumours and there is nothing against me, there is no basis on which they can say anything like this, they have no clarity on it,” Vadra added.

He said that he is a part of a political family and so he has to deal with the other parties. “They too talk about me and people of the country and journalists are interested and want to know our comments.”

He said all this is “to divert attention from the real issues that government has to face each time. So now the timing is the Covid era, there are economic issues of farmers sitting on protest, committing suicide and you think that we must send some kind of agencies to come and ask me the same kind of questions which I have already answered.”

“So when there are issues which the government does not want to answer so they think lets divert the issue and put the spotlight on somebody else.”

He defended himself and claimed that all these accusations had been cleared by the courts.

“I have been cleared by various agencies but every time the timing is significant. I don’t say it but everyone says that whenever there are problems I am targeted.”

Vadra have been at the centre of various controversies and the most recent is the issue of ‘benami’ property which he has rejected.

While he personally endorses Rahul Gandhi, saying he has all the potential to lead the Congress party but it is the party which has to decide.

“The Congress party is a democratic party, everybody has a voice if the party feels he has potential they will elect him as President,” he said on being asked about Rahul coming back as party chief.

On Priyanka Gandhi, he said she is doing her work honestly and people of the country will want her to be more active at the national level. He said that she must be given more time to prove her mettle.

A team from the Chandigarh investigation unit of the department, that is handling the probe, was seen going inside Vadra’s office in the Sukhdev Vihar area of the national capital around 3 PM.

Vadra is married to Congress leader and Sonia Gandhi’s daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Tax department sources had said Vadra was asked to join the investigation at their office but as he cited the prevailing COVID-19 restrictions, I-T officials decided to visit his premises.

Officials had said the questioning was linked to the purchase of some land parcels by a firm linked to Vadra in Rajasthan’s border town of Bikaner in which another central probe agency, the Enforcement Directorate, had filed a money laundering case in 2015.

The ED has questioned Vadra in this case in the past and had attached assets worth Rs 4.62 crore of his firm Ms Sky Light Hospitality (P) Ltd (now LLP) in 2019.

Sources said the ED shared case documents of this probe along with that of possession of some alleged undisclosed assets abroad with the tax department for action under the anti-benami law that is enforced in the country by the latter.

“Everyone knows it is (political vendetta).

Whenever Priyanka (his wife Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra) moves out for helping farmer and other issues then whom will they (probe agencies) come to?” Vadra had said to reporters after the tax department team left.

“They will come to Robert Vadra. I don’t want to go into political issues but they (government) are digressing from real issues like the farmers issue,” he had said.

Vadra had said he had “nothing to hide and worry about” and that the truth will prevail.

When reporters asked him if the latest questioning pertains to proceedings under the anti-benami law, he had said “it was general and nothing related to that (benami).

” The I-T department has also been probing Vadra on charges of alleged possession of some undisclosed assets in the UK.

The ED too is investigating these charges, under the anti-money laundering law, against the businessman.

The ED has accused Vadra of money laundering in the purchase of a London-based property at 12, Bryanston Square worth 1.

9 million GBP (British pounds), which is allegedly owned by him and this transaction involves the role of absconding defence consultant Sanjay Bhandari.

Bhandari has never joined the I-T or ED probe in this case and is stated to be based abroad.

  • Edirorial :- Peeem Pad kee Daud Mein Maaya Aage Raahul Peechhe

After considering some of today’s news related to SP-BSP, we can reveal the possibility that the maya has overthrown Rahul Gandhi on behalf of the Opposition in the race for the prime minister’s post. Akhilesh has already kneeled.
Today, in Rahul Jhansi, Rahul said the young brigade of the SP will be shocked by the false promises of BJP. This implies that Rahul and his Congress are now zero in Uttar Pradesh. The nephew Akhilesh has already been bowed before Bua Mayawati.
Today the BSP has made big bets. In 2019, the party has taken the resolution to make Mayawati a PM.
On Monday, there was a meeting of co-ordinators and senior workers in Lucknow, in which Mayawati’s name was kept under the single-point agenda, it was clearly stated that after the 2019 general elections, Mayawati is to be the Prime Minister of the country. This is the first time that thousands of workers gathered in Lucknow’s largest auditorium Indira Gandhi Foundation, but Mayawati was not on the stage.
This made it clear that Mayawati could not compromise with Rahul Gandhi in any way for the post of Prime Minister. If the BSP will get the support of the Congress, as it is being seen in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, it will impose its condition on Congress. Even if they do not disclose this condition in the media.
Right now Rahul Gandhi is desperate from the Congress, Madhya Pradesh and other provinces in the Congress that is going on in the heat and poster. This is the reason that in the manner in which the announcement of the Prime Minister’s post in the US during Karnataka assembly elections and now he is quiet. On the contrary, BSP has turned the tables for making Maya a candidate for the post of prime minister.
During the UPA regime, a banner in the stage at a Congress program was a picture of Robert Vadra, besides Manmohan Singh.
This was the story of Gandhi Vadra family. Prior to this, Robert Vadra had once said that whatever he is, he is not due to Priyanka Gandhi, because of his ability and ability.
Prior to Uttar Pradesh, there was a poster war between the supporters of Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Today’s news is that poster war between Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kamal Nath supporters has started.
There is a poster on the Facebook page of the Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress Idea Forum, on which Kamal Nath has been asked to make the next Chief Minister of the state. This poster has written ‘Rahul Bhaiya’s message, Kamal Nath Sahela Territory’.
Right now, there is a poster on Facebook about Scindia. In the poster, Scindia has been projected as the Chief Minister’s candidate and has written, “The next Chief Minister will bring a storm of development in Madhya Pradesh”. This poster of Scindia has been posted on the Facebook page of ‘Shrimant Scindia Fan Club’. It is written on this poster: ‘There will be a storm of development in the country, Scindia in the state, Rahul Gandhi in the center’.
Today’s news in Loksakti’s first page is the news: The accusation of harassing the CM Swamy, imposed by the former Assembly Speaker, in the Karnataka Congress. This is also the situation of Rajasthan.
It seems that until the coming assembly elections, at least Rahul Gandhi will remain silent on the issue of PM candidate and SP will continue to bounce to present Maya as a PM candidate.

There has been a panic in the Congress even after the Dhingra Commission report came out in Haryana. The Gandhi family is illegally charged with grabbing property of Associated Journals Limited (AJL), the parent company of the National Herald. Now in this case Income Tax Department has also got involved in Priyanka Gandhi’s involvement.
    AgustaWestland scandal

Now the family of Vadra has been added to the Gandhi family. That is why the Vadra family will not be able to say this with the Gandhi family or after that.
