The detailed presentations of these projects were made by the Principal Secretary of the Road Construction Department, Sunil Kumar, to the Chief Minister.

The approved projects include:

* **Argora Chowk-Kathal Mor-Chapu Toli Elevated Flyover:** This flyover will span 1.75 kilometers. It will have a width of 10 meters for the flyover section and 7 meters for the road below. Drainage and utility ducts will be constructed on both sides of the road, and the road below will be beautified. The flyover will feature full lighting and noise barriers on both sides. It is expected to ease traffic congestion from Argora to Chapu Toli.
* **Karamtoli-Morabadi-Science City Flyover and Four-Lane Road to Ring Road:** The flyover will be 2.2 kilometers long, stretching from Karamtol Chowk to Science City, and will be 10 meters wide. The four-lane road from Science City to the Ring Road will be over 5 kilometers long. This project aims to reduce traffic congestion on busy routes in the capital.
* **Alternative Four-Lane Road from Ranchi Railway Station to Airport:** This project includes a 4.7-kilometer-long road with an 800-meter elevated section. It will feature footpaths, covered cycle tracks, solar panels on the tracks for lighting, a greenfield corridor, gazebos, benches, and basic amenities. This will provide a fast alternative route to the airport, benefiting residents of Hatia, Doranda, Hinoo, and the HEC area.

The Chief Minister has directed officials to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and implement the projects promptly. He also instructed that measures be ensured to improve traffic in other major cities. Additionally, he mentioned considering proposals for flyovers from Harmu Mukti Dham to Radisson Blu and over the Swarnarekha River from Hinoo Bridge to Jagannathpur.

Plans are also being developed to improve traffic in cities like Jamshedpur, Daltonganj, and others. This includes the Jamshedpur-Sakchi City Flyover project (2.54 km), and the Daltonganj-Garhwa Alternative Corridor, a circular elevated corridor connecting all directions to help traffic flow. Improvements will also be made at the transition points of the NHAI in places like Ramgarh, Daltonganj, and Barkakana, with an emphasis on safety and junction improvements.

These projects are expected not only to reduce traffic congestion but also to promote local employment, investment, and industrial activities. The Chief Minister has emphasized timely implementation and regular review, stating that these initiatives are crucial steps toward making Jharkhand a modern and developed state.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, altered his travel plans during his recent Jharkhand visit. Initially scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation for national highway projects in Garhwa and then proceed to Ranchi for the inauguration of an elevated corridor, Gadkari instead went to Gaya before arriving in Ranchi. Gadkari arrived in Ranchi by plane earlier in the day and was greeted by Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth and other senior BJP leaders at Birsa Munda Airport. Following the Garhwa events, where he announced infrastructure projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore for Jharkhand, Gadkari was expected to return to Ranchi. However, he traveled to Gaya due to unfavorable weather conditions in Garhwa, which prevented his helicopter from taking off. A chartered plane was dispatched from Birsa Munda Airport to bring him to Ranchi, where he would later inaugurate the elevated corridor on Ratu Road.

July 3rd marked a significant day for Palamu and Garhwa districts of Jharkhand. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for two…

July 3rd marked a significant day for Palamu and Garhwa districts of Jharkhand. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for two national highway projects in Garhwa, with a total cost of ₹2460 crore. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including State Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, MP Palamu Vishnu Dayal Ram, MP Kali Charan Singh, and local legislators. These projects are designed to improve transportation, boost the region’s economy, enhance trade, and promote tourism.

The 22.73-kilometer-long 4-lane road on National Highway-39, from Shankha to Khajuri, constructed at a cost of ₹1129.48 crore, was inaugurated by Gadkari in Hur Village, Garhwa. This road connects Palamu and Garhwa districts and provides direct access to the borders of Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The new road is expected to reduce travel time significantly, from one hour to just 20 minutes. It will also alleviate traffic congestion for locals and stimulate economic activities.

Furthermore, Gadkari laid the foundation stone for a new road from the Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand border to Gumla. This road is a crucial part of the Raipur-Dhanbad Economic Corridor. The construction of this route will bypass traffic from densely populated areas like Rupsera, Raidi, Silam, and Gumla, thereby reducing traffic pressure on existing roads and towns. It is also expected to improve road safety and boost commerce, trade, and tourism, while strengthening the region’s cultural identity.

These projects are poised to improve connectivity, generate employment opportunities, facilitate market access for local businesses, and promote tourism in the Palamu-Garhwa region. Gadkari emphasized that these roads would not only ease travel but also propel Jharkhand’s development. He expressed confidence that the central government is committed to making Jharkhand a developed state.

In addition to these projects, Gadkari announced several other road projects for Jharkhand, including the inauguration of the Ratu Road Elevated Corridor in Ranchi, which is expected to ease traffic congestion in the capital. The total cost of these projects exceeds ₹6300 crore, further strengthening Jharkhand’s road infrastructure. The Shankha-Khajuri 4-lane road and the Raipur-Dhanbad Economic Corridor are expected to not only improve transportation but also contribute significantly to the region’s economic and social development, marking a new beginning for Jharkhand’s progress.
