  • Government amends policy for admission of COVID patients to hospitals, no positive tests are required

    Amid a record surge in coronavirus cases, the Union Health Ministry on Saturday revised the national policy for admission of COVID patients to various categories of COVID facilities and clarified that requirement of a positive test for COVID-19 virus is not mandatory for admission to a COVID health facility.

    The ministry said a suspect case shall be admitted to the suspect ward of Covid Care Centers (CCC) / Dedicated Covid Health Centers (DCHC) and Dedicated Covid Hospitals (DCH) as the case may be.

    As per the Union Government directive to all States and UTs, hospitals under the Central Government, State Governments and Union Territory administration including private hospitals (in States and Union Territories) managing COVID Patients shall ensure that no patient will be refused services on any count that includes medications such as oxygen or essential drugs even if the patient belongs to a different city.

    No patient shall be refused admission on the ground that he/she is not able to produce a valid identity card that does not belong to the city where the hospital is located, said the ministry.

    The Health Ministry also said that admissions to the hospital must be based on need and it should be ensured that beds are not occupied by persons who do not need hospitalisation. It said that the discharge should be strictly in accordance with its revised discharge policy.

    The Union Health Ministry has advised the Chief Secretaries of States/Union territories to issue necessary orders and circulars, incorporating the above directions within three days, which shall be enforced till replaced by an appropriate uniform policy.

    It had earlier enunciated a policy of setting up a three-tier health infrastructure for appropriate management of suspect/confirmed COVID-19 cases.

    The guidance document issued in this regard on April 7, 2020, envisages setting up of COVID Care Center (CCC) that shall offer care for mild cases, said the ministry adding that these have been set up in hostels, hotels, schools, stadiums, lodges, both public and private.

  • Centre Revises Policy On Patient Admission In Hospitals: ‘COVID+ve Report Not Mandatory’

    In a dramatic shift of policy, Union Health Ministry on Saturday, announced that the requirement of a positive test for COVID-19 virus is not mandatory for admission to a COVID health facility. This move will stop hospitals from refusing admission to critical patients based on the non-availability of COVID-19 test reports. India currently has 37,23,446 active COVID cases, 1,79,30,960 recovered cases and 2,38,270 fatalities.

    Amid atleast five high courts (Delhi, Allahabad, Bombay, Madras, Karnataka) hearing matters regarding oxygen supply, Remdesivir scarcity, bed shortage, vaccination, SC issued notices to the Centre, states and parties who have approached the HCs to show cause why the apex court cannot pass uniform orders on supply of oxygen, essential drugs, method and manner of vaccination and declaration of lockdown. The bench comprising of then-CJI SA Bobde, Justices L Nageswara Rao and S Ravindra Bhat asked the Union government to present a national plan for dealing with essential services and supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Later on Sunday, the SC ordered that the Central Government shall, in collaboration with the States, prepare a buffer stock of oxygen for emergency purposes and decentralize the location of the emergency stocks.

  • Organizing a meeting to review the reading and writing campaign

    According to the instructions of the Chief Electoral Officer of the state, the revision 2021 program is being conducted. For effective implementation of this program in Sarguja district, photo-electoral nominations will be reviewed for special publicity of special revision, preparation of reading and writing campaign. The Deputy District Election Officer gave notice of the meeting to all the development block project officers of the district and the officials of the Public Education Committee of the development block, the principal of all government and non-government colleges, tehsildars and chief executive officers of the Janpad Panchayat to be present in the meeting with necessary preparations. Have said This meeting has been held on 2 December 2020 at 1 pm in the office located behind the Jan Shikshan Sansthan Diet Hostel.
