  • Redmi Issues Warning Regarding Liquid UV Screen Protectors For Curved Displays |

New Year: Xiaomi, a consumer electronics company, is advising its customers about the potential hazards of utilizing liquid-based UV screen protectors on smartphones equipped with curved displays. Despite the advantages these protectors may offer, there is a risk of causing harm to the device and invalidating its warranty.

The curved shape of the screen limits the availability of regular adhesive-based tempered glass protectors, posing a challenge in finding suitable options for numerous phone models. While traditional screen protectors may provide protection against scratches, they do not offer any defense against accidental drops or impacts. This situation results in liquid-based UV screen protectors being the sole choice for devices featuring curved displays. Applying these protectors can be risky and may potentially harm your device. (Also Read: Gmail’s Alternative Xmail Is Coming Soon, Says Elon Musk)

Redmi India, as stated on X platform advises users to explore alternatives to liquid UV adhesive protectors for optimal performance on curved display smartphones. They caution that these UV protectors could interfere with device functionality and may ruin the device’s warranty status.

Redmi’s Caution: UV Glue Application Risks

Redmi is issuing the warning because UV protectors involve a curing process with UV glue that, if applied incorrectly, can seep into delicate parts of the device like speakers and buttons. This could cause problems such as unexpected restarts, button malfunctions, and speaker noise.

Installation Risks: Glue Seepage and Device Damage

The issue arises during installation when the glue used to adhere the protector may unintentionally enter the device’s delicate components. Once hardened with UV light, this glue can solidify in these areas, leading to damage and potentially invalidating the device’s warranty.

The Rise of UV Screen Protectors

UV screen protectors became popular with the emergence of smartphones with curved screens because regular adhesive-based protectors were incompatible with such designs. Although UV protectors provide enhanced coverage and durability, incorrect installation can result in significant issues.

Although UV protectors can offer effective protection when applied correctly, the risks associated with incorrect installation are significant. For users who prioritize maintaining warranty coverage while seeking protection, traditional screen protectors may be a safer choice, despite providing less defense against impacts.

  • Motorola’s next G-series phone may sport 108-megapixel camera, should Realme, Redmi worry

You may soon see two new Motorola smartphones in India. The company recently launched the Moto G10 and Moto G30 in India for customers who want big batteries and modest specifications on phones that do not burn a hole in the pocket. But now, Motorola seems to be getting ready for some high-level action. There are two phones that Motorola may be working on, and one of them is most likely to get a 108-megapixel camera. And if that holds any water, Motorola’s upcoming Moto G60 may be the third affordable handset with that high-grade camera.

A tip by Mukul Sharma has said that the headline feature of one of the upcoming Moto G-series phones will be the 108-megapixel camera. While Sharma does not mention which phone this will be, a recent image render hints this phone could be the Moto G60. In the render, the phone has “108MP” etched on the camera module. And that is why there may be a possibility Motorola’s 108-megapixel camera phone will be the Moto G60. Again, if this rumour turns out true, the Moto G60 will be Motorola’s answer to the Realme 8 Pro and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max.

Sharma has further noted that this phone — Moto G60 — may come with a 32-megapixel front camera. The selfie camera setup is not clear, but the render shows it will be inside the centrally-located punch-hole. The Moto G60 may have a total of three cameras on the back, but their details are not clear at this point. The camera design is also very similar to what we have seen on Samsung Galaxy A52 or Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G.

A previous report suggested the Motorola Moto G60 will have a 6.78-inch Full-HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal memory, and, finally, a 6000mAh battery inside. All of this is over and above the 108-megapixel triple-camera setup that we talked about earlier. The 108-megapixel camera will use the same Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor that the other two 108-megapixel phones have. The rumoured specifications of the Moto G60 paint a positive picture for the handset as it looks to take on the Realme 8 Pro and the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max.

For now, there is no information on when the Moto G60 and the second G-series phone (which could be Moto G40 Fusion) are coming to India. We are likely to get more information in the coming days.Live TVALSO READ | Lenovo Legion 7i review: Good choice for gamers and creatorsALSO READ | Security flaw in smart chastity sex toy leaves thousands of users vulnerable to permanent lockALSO READ | Oppo W11 review: Sounds good, gestures work betterhttps://www.youtube.com/embed/DbmBMDYD2-ERead More

Xiaomi is a brand that is popular for its budget smartphone. But some people wait for the phone to be cheap. That is, the company is giving a discount of Rs 2,500 on this phone. The special feature of the phone is the 5000mAh battery and 13 megapixel primary camera in the low price.

  • Redmi’s cheap smartphone out of stock in first flash sale

The first sale of smartphone company Xiaomi’s Redmi 9 Power smartphone (Redmi 9 Power) started today. This smartphone received tremendous response. The first sale of this phone started at 12 noon today. But within 30 seconds, this phone became Out of Stock. It can be estimated from this response.

This information is given by the company’s managing director Manu Kumar Jain. He tweeted that the entire stock of Redmi 9 Power was out of stock in the first sale in just 30 seconds. Also, he told when the cell of this phone is there.

He wrote, “Redmi 9 Power has started rocking. Today the entire stock in the first sale has been out of stock in less than 30 seconds. If you are not able to buy this 6000mAh battery phone today, then the next cell will be placed on December 29. ”

The company has launched 2 variants of this smartphone. The price of 4 GB RAM + 64 GB variants is Rs 10,999. At the same time, the price of 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant is Rs 11,999. Apart from this, there is a 6000mAh battery, which comes with 18W fast charging.

  • Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi 6A, and Redmi 6 will not be updated to MIUI 12

Xiaomi first unveiled MIUI 12 in China earlier this year in April. Following the reveal, the company shared a list of devices that would receive the latest Android skin. While the MIUI 12 update has already rolled out to several of these devices in the last few months, Xiaomi has now announced that four devices from the list won’t be updated to MIUI 12. These include the Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi 6A, and Redmi 6.

The company recently posted a message in the Mi Fans Home channel on Telegram, which states: “Please note that the following device models originally included in MIUI 12 release schedule won’t be updated to MIUI 12 due to compatibility and performance issues. Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6.”

As a result, these devices will be stuck on MIUI 11 based on Android 9 for now. While this isn’t as bad for Redmi 6 (codename: cereus) and 6A (codename: cactus) users, it’s definitely a bummer for Redmi 7 (codename: onclite) and Redmi Y3 (codename: onc) users. That’s because the Redmi 6 and 6A were launched over two years ago and have received one major Android upgrade and two MIUI upgrades. The Redmi 7 and Redmi Y3, on the other hand, were launched early last year, and they have received just one MIUI upgrade and no Android upgrades.

Considering the fact that the MIUI version dictates the feature set on Xiaomi devices, Xiaomi’s decision to cancel the MIUI 12 update for these devices means that users will miss out on several features that were introduced in the latest update. This includes features like the new animations, improved navigation gestures, a flatter UI design, new live wallpapers, enhanced privacy protection features, multi-window support, and much more. It goes without saying that these devices won’t be getting Android 10 or 11 either, so users will also miss out on the features included in those releases.

  • Redmi could launch a cheap 108MP phone later this month

We’ve seen a few brands launch 108MP smartphones in the past 12 months or so, such as the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. But all these phones had launch prices of over $500, extending to well over $1,000 for the latter phone.

Now, frequent leaker Digital Chat Station has noted on Weibo that the first 108MP Redmi phone is in the works and coming soon. The leaker adds that it’s part of three new upcoming Redmi Note 9 series devices expected in mid-November rather than a Redmi Note 10 series phone. Check out a machine-translated version of the post below.

More specifically, the tipster claims that the 108MP Redmi phone will pack a Samsung Isocell HM2 sensor. This is a new 108MP sensor from the company and features 0.7 micron pixels and a 1/1.52 inch sensor size — slightly smaller in both categories than the firm’s previous 108MP sensors. The HM2 still sports nona-binning technology, combining data from nine adjacent pixels into one for brighter, cleaner results at 12MP.

This isn’t the first time Digital Chat Station elaborated on a 108MP Xiaomi device though, as they previously noted last month that a device dubbed “J17” could have both a 108MP camera and a telephoto macro camera. The “J17” lines up with a Xiaomi device with model number M2007J17C/M2007J17G that was previously spotted on certification websites and could offer 33W charging.

It would nevertheless be interesting if Xiaomi chose to skip the Redmi Note 10 name for these upcoming phones, as the brand usually launches one Redmi Note family in the first half of the year and delivers a follow-up in the second half of the year. We previously saw this in 2019 (Note 7 and Note 8) and 2018 (Note 5 and Note 6 Pro).

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is currently the top-end device in the Redmi Note 9 family, starting at ~$222 in the likes of India. So if the new phone has similar pricing, we could be looking at the cheapest 108MP phone by quite some margin. Hopefully the phone has enough power to deliver brisk camera processing at 108MP.

  • Redmi Note 10 series leak reveals LCD punch-hole display, SD750G, 108MP camera, and more

expected to announce a new smartphone this month. While Redmi fans are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the Redmi Note 10 series, the company is likely to launch a new Redmi K30 series smartphone this month. Some reports have claimed that this month could see the arrival of the Xiaomi Mi 10T smartphone in China as the Redmi K30T. Meanwhile, a Chinese tipster has been tipping on the specs of the alleged Redmi Note 10 series. A recent leak by the tipster revealed the key specs of the two phones that belong to the upcoming Note 10 series.

The leak states that both smartphones of the Note 10 series are equipped with LCD panels with punch-hole design. One of them features the MediaTek MT6853V chipset i.e. the Dimensity 720 chipset and a 48-megapixel main camera on its rear.
