Speaking to the media in Patna, Jaiswal welcomed the central leadership’s announcement with open arms. He portrayed Nabin’s journey to Rajya Sabha as a stroke of luck, spotlighting his rich political journey, masterful organizational abilities, and deep commitment to serving the people. ‘Nabin will undoubtedly make Bihar’s concerns resonate strongly in the national forum,’ Jaiswal asserted, foreseeing enhanced glory for the state through his efforts on national and public welfare issues.

Jaiswal didn’t hold back praise for Upendra Kushwaha, the NDA’s pick from Rashtriya Lok Morcha. Offering hearty congratulations, he voiced strong belief in Kushwaha’s potential to propel NDA’s growth-oriented policies, playing a pivotal role in state and country advancement. Prayers for his health and fruitful term followed.

The announcement coincided with Holi festivities, where Jaiswal joined Nitin Nabin at BJP Patna’s Holi get-together. Interacting cordially with grassroots workers, he shared festival greetings and stressed Holi’s essence of brotherhood and organizational solidarity. Lauding workers as the party’s backbone, Jaiswal wished the entire state joyful Holi celebrations.

Prominent BJP figure Ravi Shankar Prasad shared his exhilaration, congratulating Nabin profusely. He highlighted how Nabin’s seasoned leadership in organization and governance would raise parliamentary standards and fuel missions for grassroots welfare and upliftment.

During a press briefing in Patna, Prasad pointed out the contradiction of the alliance contesting 255 seats in a 243-seat assembly, even with two prominent leaders vying for the same seat in Gaura Bauram. “What kind of alliance is this?” he asked, emphasizing the internal conflicts and perceived weakness. He further warned Bihar’s voters that an RJD-led government would lead to a miserable existence, citing the conviction of Lalu Prasad Yadav in fodder scam cases and ongoing corruption allegations against Tejashwi Yadav.

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala echoed these sentiments, suggesting the RJD might view Rahul Gandhi as a ‘liability.’ He criticized the alliance for lacking a clear mission or vision, describing it as a coalition driven by ‘division and confusion.’ The absence of Gandhi’s picture, while Tejashwi Yadav’s was prominent, fueled speculation about the Congress party’s standing within the alliance, especially after past claims of being the ‘big brother.’ The upcoming Bihar elections are set to be a key contest between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan, with Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj also vying for seats. Polling is scheduled for November 6 and 11, with results on November 14.
