This year’s theme focuses on the message of education against child labor.

The Trimurti Ganesh Utsav Samiti in Ward Number 7, Shankarpur, in Rajnandgaon city, has incorporated the theme of child labor this year. Lord Ganesha is depicted in the Ganesh Pandal, holding a book and standing among children. Other idols in the pandal depict the fight against child labor and the progress achieved through education. The pandal conveys the message that a better future can be achieved through education. The Ganesh Pandal showcases two forms of the same idol, one side representing life with education and the other side portraying the impact of life without education. Hindi and English alphabets are written behind Lord Ganesha. Through flex banners, the Ganesh Utsav Samiti is opposing child labor and encouraging people to educate children.

Last year, this Ganesh Pandal conveyed the message of environmental awareness and made people aware of the cutting of trees through religious faith. This year, considering the increasing cases of child labor, a message has been given about children being deprived of education. Lord Ganesha, the lord of knowledge, wisdom, and intelligence, is giving the message of education.

The Trimurti Ganesh Utsav Samiti has been establishing Ganesh idols here for almost 30 years. This Ganesh Pandal consists of a team of mostly young people who install idols that convey messages related to the welfare of society. Ravi Jagne, the president of the committee, said that people are more inspired by the message given with faith. That’s why an idol with a message is installed here.

The animals were reportedly sitting near a roadside ढाबा when the speeding truck, while attempting to overtake, crashed into them. The impact was so intense that the cattle were dragged along the road for some distance. Upon receiving the report, CSP Pushpendra Nayak and the municipal corporation team arrived at the scene. The deceased animals were subsequently buried with respect. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify the truck and its driver.

The headmaster is accused of showing obscene photos to the students and engaging in inappropriate physical conduct. The incident came to light after the students refused to attend school and informed their parents. A meeting of the parents committee was held on August 6th to address the issue, followed by a written complaint submitted to the Block Education Officer (BEO) on August 7th. A probe was initiated by the cluster coordinator, and a report was submitted to the District Education Officer (DEO). Subsequently, the headmaster, along with an assistant teacher, was suspended. The headmaster, Netram Verma, and the assistant teacher, Prasad Tiwari, have both been suspended. The police have also been notified to register a case. The DEO’s order stated that the headmaster called some students to his office, showed them obscene photos on his phone, inappropriately touched them, and engaged in obscene acts, constituting misconduct. He has been attached to the BEO Dongargarh. The assistant teacher, Deesam Pramod Tiwari, was suspended for concealing the incidents that had been occurring for several years. The DEO, Prawas Singh Baghel, confirmed that an investigation was launched after receiving complaints from villagers, leading to the suspension of the headmaster and assistant teacher and the referral to the police for filing an FIR. The primary school has 70 students and only two teachers, both of whom are now suspended.
