  • Gehlot, Pilot seen together for first time since tussle leading Congress protests against farm laws in Jaipur

    Express News Service
JAIPUR: Congress workers in Rajasthan led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasara and former deputy CM Sachin Pilot staged a dharna at Jaipur’s Shaheed Smarak on Sunday demanding the repeal of new agriculture laws.

The dharna was also organised to protest against Governor Kalraj Mishra failing to forward the three amendment bills passed by the state assembly to counter the Centre’s farm laws to President Ramnath Kovind for approval.

As the Rajasthan Congress launched an all-out agitation against the farm laws, it also became the first time since the Gehlot-Pilot tussle erupted in July-August last year that both the leaders were seen together at a public protest meet.

Addressing the meeting, CM Gehlot lashed out at the Modi government which he called ‘an irresponsible and insensitive’ government.

Gehlot asserted, “for the past 39 days farmers have been sitting out in the open in this biting cold and 36 farmers have died during this agitation. But the Modi government has crossed all limits of insensitivity and is refusing to listen to the demands of farmers.”

Hitting out at the Centre, Gehlot added, “people who were nothing more than stooges of the British are asking us to account for the past 70 years.

They want to turn India into a ‘Hindu Rashtra’ but we will not let that happen. Just as Americans have thrown out Trump, people in India will soon throw out this cruel government.”

Speaking on this occasion, Sachin Pilot made a sharp attack on the BJP and RSS brand of nationalism. “Standing with farmers is real nationalism. Just wearing knickers and giving lectures from Nagpur is not nationalism,” Pilot asserted to much applause from the gathering.

In addition, Pilot stated, “they are making false allegations that we are playing politics over the farm laws. But if supporting farmers is considered politics, we will definitely play politics to help farmers.”

Besides Gehlot and Pilot, all ministers of the Rajasthan government, Congress MLAs and Congress workers participated in this Dharna in large numbers despite Covid-19 restrictions.

The Rajasthan Congress will also launch a week-long ‘Kisan Bachao-Desh Bachao’ campaign on Tuesday under which ministers, party workers and public representatives will visit villages in the state demanding the rollback of the three contentious farm laws.

To bridge the rift within the party, CM Gehlot has invited all Congress MLAs for dinner on Sunday night in which Pilot loyalists are also likely to be present.

The ‘Kisan Bachao-Desh Bachao’ campaign could not only help to support protesting farmers but may also help to patch up the divide between the Gehlot and Pilot factions of the Rajasthan Congress.

  • Yogi most sought-after campaigner in just-concluded Assembly polls

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emerged as the most sought after star poll campaigner as he addressed 74 election meetings in the last 21 days in four poll-bound States.

The poll results of these states will be announced on December 11. In an informal chat with this reporter, Yogi recently said that the public response was quite enthusiastic wherever he addressed rallies.

“The election campaigning was hectic but the response of the people made my visits worthwhile,” Yogi told this reporter at his 5, Kalidas Marg official residence in Lucknow.

“At some places, the response was unexpected. All grounds were full of audience and the people waited for me despite I being late for the meetings at certain places. Going by public response, the BJP is bound to do well in these elections,” Yogi said.

The elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Telangana are being seen as the a semifinal before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP used star campaigners led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi  in these elections. Among the other campaigners, Yogi Adityanath was the most sought after.

Yogi addressed 17 rallies in Madhya Pradesh, 23 in Chhattisgarh and 26 in Rajasthan. He also campaigned in Telangana and addressed eight rallies there. Yogi’s overall tally of poll meetings was the highest for any star campaigner of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The saffron clad Mahant of Gorakhnath temple spoke on Ram and Hindutava in his speeches and even created a controversy by terming Lord Hanuman as a Dalit. His one-liner ‘Ali and Bajrang Bali’ made headlines when he said ‘Aapko Ali mubarak, hamare liye to Bajrangbali hi kaafi hain’.

This may have been a part of design as the party faced tough challenge from a resurgent Congress in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

The BJP worked on a two-pronged strategy. While Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath invoked Ram and Hindutava, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah talked about development.

A senior BJP leader said that Yogi was much in demand in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh but he could not be accommodated properly because of tight schedule.

“The CM used to address rallies the whole day and by the evening he used to fly back to Lucknow and hold meetings with officials,” he said.

Another reason for his increasing demand was that he has a large followers of Nath sect in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

  • Editorial :- Rahul SiphSalar and Imran Khan’s Yar Sidhu would be interval due to slogan in has rally : Pakistan Zindabad

On 05 December in Jaipur, Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah held a press conference. In the press conference, he talked about two Issues.

On the Agusta-Westland issue, BJP President Amit Shah said that the opposition has no issue, so speaking on the issue of Christian Michelle. Does the opposition want to save the middleman?

On being questioned, Amit Shah said about Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu that we have never said that Sidhu is unholy, we do not believe that. He said that the Congress should clarify whether Navjot Singh Sidhu had gone to Pakistan with the consent of Rahul Gandhi hugged Bazwa, the Pak army chief there. If such Happened  then it is natural the slogan of Pakistan Zindabad would be shouted in the rally.

What is Sidhu’s Pakistan connection, Crime Branch will investigate: Now, during the visit of the Delhi crime branch Navjot Singh Sidhu to Pakistan, during a visit to Pakistan, investigate the case with several suspects. BJP spokesman Naveen Kumar met the special commissioner of Delhi Police, Rajesh Basti and he has given this complaint to the Crime Branch. The complaint has been lodged by BJP spokesman Navin Kumar.

The big impact of Zee Media news : The slogan Pakistan Zindabad be shouted in Sidhu’s rally in Alwar has had a major impact. In this matter, Rajasthan Election Commission CEO Anand Mumar has summoned the full report and the video.

Congress leader and Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu may be in trouble. CEO Anand Kumar has summoned the report in the case of allegations of sloganeering of Pakistan’s Zindabad in his meeting of Alwar. In the case, he has sought a complete factual report from Alwar collector. Along with this, the video of the alleged gathering has also been ordered. It is worth noting that a video was viral in which Siddhu’s meeting was heard by slogans of Pakistan Zindabad. In this, Siddhu has clarified that this video has been edited to spoil his image.

It is worth noting that suspicion is being expressed on this alleged video of Zee News. Similar suspicion was also expressed on the Zee News video related toslogan of AAjadi JNU,but  it was later found to be correct in the investigation.

The second fact is that Sudhir Chaudhary of DNA has detailed the alleged video related to Pakistan Zinderabad slogan. Whether it is a real video or not, it is a matter of investigation but with the discussion of the alleged slogan of Pakistan Zindabad, the events of the slogan are being shown in the media ,in the praise of  Siddhu and Congress and criticizes modi Government by hated words.

Amit Shah had questioned in the Press Conference held in Jaipur whether the opposition wants to save the middleman Michelle? Congress has appointed congress leader Aljon Joseph to defend the declared in a manner that yes, in a way, yes, that the Chopper scandal, Agusta Westland has been accused by Congressman Aljon Joseph the alleged middleman Michelle in a bribe transaction.

We are unable to understand that on the instructions of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, why does the Congress leader’s advocate come forward to defend alleged criminals and organizations involved in anti-India protests? The SIMI was banned in the NDA regime. At that time Salman Khurshid came forward to defend Simi.

The way Sidhu had built bridges in praise of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in his journey to Pakistan just a few days ago and on the contrary, in the rude language for India’s prime minister Narendra Modi, in his election rally in Rajasthan. Similarly when Salman Khurshid had gone to Pakistan, then the praise of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, then the Prime Minister of Pakistan  and he used hated word for the PM of India.

Similarly, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Spokes person of congress and lawyer of Supreme Court , came forward in the court  to defend the arrest of the urban Maoists.

In the presence of Kanhaiya Kumar and Omar Khalid, freedom slogans where shouted in JNU. Immediately after that, Rahul Gandhi reached JNU to pat there backs.

Former Solicitor General Mohan Parasaran, while correcting this question, described the allegations of Kurien Joseph as serious and said that retired judge (Joseph) should be told that on what basis he gave such statements after his retirement.

  • Govt rejects service pay hike demand, Army to seek review

The Army is upset over the Government’s decision to reject a long-pending demand for enhanced Military Service Pay (MSP) for more than one lakh personnel and will seek a review.

The MSP is given besides salary in recognition of the condition and hardship faced by the armed forces while performing their duties. This concept was introduced in India in the Sixth Pay Commission.

Many European countries have implemented MSP to boost the morale of its armed forces.

The armed forces this time round had sought a hike from Rs 5,500 as recommended by the Seventh Pay Commission in 2016 to Rs 10,000 per month in MSP for Junior Commissioned Officers (JCO) and other low-ranking officers in Army, IAF and Navy. The proposal was turned down by the Finance Ministry thereby impacting 1.12 lakh personnel, including 87,646 JCOs and 25,434 of the same ranks in IAF and Navy, sources said here on Tuesday. If the proposal had gone through, the financial spending would have amounted to Rs 610 crore, they added.

The MSP has two categories, including one for officers and another for JCOs and jawans. The Seventh Pay Commission had fixed Rs 5,200 as MSP per month for JCOs and jawans. This special allowance was fixed at Rs 15,500 for officers between Lieutenant-rank and Brigadier-rank.

Elaborating upon the Army’s anguish over the rejection of hike in MSP for JCOs, sources said JCOs perform a crucial role in the overall command structure and are link between officers and men. Appreciating their relevance, the Government had granted JCOs the status of gazetted officers (Group B) last year. Officials said it was not the right thing to treat the JCOs on a par with the jawans as regards granting MSP since JCOs are gazetted officers with long years of service.

Pointing out that the Army had taken up the issue strongly with the Defence Minister, they said the matter was discussed also among the three services and the Defence Ministry were on the same page on the issue.

On the rationale for MSP, they said soldiers and their civilian counterparts in Central Government services cannot be compared given the fact the nature of duties performed by jawans and JCOs are more difficult. It is in this context that the armed forces for long were demanding a separate MSP for JCOs.

The MSP was introduced in India to provide special allowances keeping in view intangible aspects of military service.

Army operates in all kinds of terrain and weather conditions ranging from Siachen where temperatures range from minus 10 to minus 30, hot deserts of Rajasthan, inaccessible areas along the 750-km long Line of Control with Pakistan and 4,000-km Line of Actual Control facing China from Ladakh in the north to Arunachal Pradesh in the east. Similarly, Navy and IAF perform operational duties in tough conditions, they added.

  • Where have you got your knowledge on Hinduism, PM asks Cong

Launching a stinging attack against the Congress for questioning his knowledge on Hinduism, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday used the dynast-worker analogy to ask the opposition party where it got its expertise on the religion.

Addressing an election rally in this Rajasthan town, the prime minister said in a sarcastic jibe that he was a small “kaamdar” (worker) who never claimed to have full knowledge of Hinduism but the “naamdar” (dynast) has the right to speak.

Modi has often referred to Congress president Rahul Gandhi as “naamdar”.

He also brought up India’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru and first president Rajendra Prasad.

Nehru objected to Prasad’s visit for the consecration of Somnath temple, which was destroyed by foreign invaders and renovated by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the prime minister told the gathering ahead of elections in the state on December 7.

The country, he said, was celebrating Prasad’s birth anniversary.

The Congress, Modi alleged, has become a university for spreading lies. People who lie more get new posts in the party, he said.

Rahul Gandhi, he asserted, has great capacity for speaking lies.

“The Congress’ dreams have been crushed in all states. This will happen in Rajasthan also,” he said.

The opposition party thinks it can come to power because of the trend in Rajasthan of alternate parties forming government but this will be proved wrong in the upcoming state elections, Modi declared.

  • Cong has no leader, no programme: Amit Shah

BJP president Amit Shah said Tuesday the Congress has “no leadership and no programme” as he addressed a public meeting in Rajasthan, which goes to the polls on December 7.

At a meeting in Jalore, he reiterated that the BJP government was committed to sending back illegal migrants.

The point was also made in the manifesto released Tuesday by the ruling party in Jaipur ahead of the assembly polls.

“I want to say once again that the BJP is going to form the government here,” Shah said.

“The Congress is just dreaming of forming the government but the party has no leadership and no programme,” Shah said.

He said the BJP will also retain power in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Praising Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for financial management, he said the BJP government increased the state’s revenue and put it on the path of growth and development.

“The Congress did nothing to address the issue of illegal migrants,” he said.

  • Yogi Adityanath to be among star campaigners

With the pride of the BJP at stake, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be among star campaigners for the party in three Central Indian States where Assembly elections are slated for November and December.

A meeting in this connection was held at the CM’s official residence at 5, KD Marg, on Monday night at which the blueprint of Yogi’s forays into neighbouring Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh was chalked out.

Sources told The Pioneer that the two Deputy Chief Ministers, Dinesh Sharma and Keshav Prasad Maurya, might also be asked to address rallies in those States. “But the focus will be on Yogi as requests have started pouring in from these poll-bound states seeking time from the UP Chief Minister,” the sources said.  Assembly elections are also slated for Telangana and Mizoram but Yogi’s electoral participation there is not clear. “The CM might also go to these two States and address rallies there. It all depends on directives from the Central leadership,” he said.

Earlier too, Yogi had been the star campaigner of the BJP and his role in Gujarat was very crucial as he was the most sought after leader after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP’s president Amit Singh. “Yogi’s saffron outfit and sanyasi look sends a loud Hindutva message which has proved beneficial for the party. Therefore, he has been sent to different States for electioneering,” a leader opined.

To spread this flame in Bihar after Madhya Pradesh, Bihar’s Congress in-charge Shakti Singh Gohil, who is from Gujarat, has left his three-day visit to Bihar to go to protect his junior colleague, Ameesh Thakur and his colleagues. .

Gohil blamed the BJP and the Sangh Parivar for violence and Vijay convicted the Rupani government. But when asked about the role of Thakur Army, he said that neither Ampeesh Thakur nor his Thakur organization was involved in attacks on North Indians.
Gohil was in Muzaffarpur and wherever he went, he was asked questions about the attacks in Gujarat.
Gohil said that Gujarat was “for all” and people of Bihar were a property for the state and the alleged role of Alappesh Thakur has troubled them.
