In a major step towards efficient governance, the government has fortified its oversight of infrastructure development through the innovative PAIMAN platform. Launched by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, this digital dashboard monitors 1,941 central projects totaling Rs 41.50 lakh crore up to March.

The platform’s impact is profound: it fosters transparency, facilitates prompt evaluations, and supports evidence-based policymaking in ministries. Expenditure stands at Rs 19.93 lakh crore, representing 48.02% of revised costs, with many projects advancing rapidly.

Notably, 777 projects—nearly 40%—have surpassed 80% physical progress, and 261 have hit 80% financial milestones. The transport sector reigns supreme with 1,428 projects at Rs 22.66 lakh crore, highlighting connectivity priorities like highways, rail networks, airports, and inland waterways.

Road Transport and Highways tops the list with 1,120 projects (Rs 10.61 lakh crore), trailed by Railways (244 projects, Rs 8.37 lakh crore). Key players like Coal, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Power, and Housing & Urban Affairs bolster the portfolio.

The lineup includes 786 mega projects over Rs 1,000 crore (total Rs 30.48 lakh crore original cost) and 1,155 major ones contributing Rs 5.41 lakh crore. PAIMAN’s analytics are poised to minimize delays, optimize resources, and propel India towards a world-class infrastructure ecosystem.
